Hey fighters! 👊
I've just released a small update for Punch Rest Repeat with a few fixes, UI improvements, and some new achievements to chase in the ring.
Fixed an issue where enabling Idle Mode while accepting a challenge could start multiple matches at once.
Fixed a bug where Auto Battle could occasionally skip a turn without throwing a punch.

Three new belt achievements have been added for players who dominate the challenge system:
Epic Challenger – Win 500 fights
Legendary Challenger – Win 1000 fights
Ultimate Challenger – Win 1500 fights
Time to earn those belts. 🏆
Reaching the final stage of the League will now place a Golden Belt trophy on the gym wall as a permanent reminder of your achievement.

Added a short grace state after failed combos and knockdown recovery to prevent missed inputs.
Failed combos now correctly hand the next turn to the opponent for more natural combat pacing.
Improved combat turn handling to prevent extra attacks after fight-ending conditions.
Clarified Parry feedback with distinct visuals and text for better readability.
Rebalanced Auto-Battle to feel fairer and more consistent.
Improved player survivability by slightly increasing player max HP.

Keep training and enjoy the grind — Punch, Rest, Repeat Smiling Stallion Studios
Punch, Rest, Repeat is now live! 🥊
This project started as a small idea and grew step by step with the help of feedback, testing, and lots of passion. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who wishlisted, tested, shared feedback, or simply followed the journey.
Thank you so much for the support during development. Every wishlist, message, and kind word truly means a lot.
I’ll be actively monitoring feedback and working on improvements and fixes.
If you enjoy the game, reviews and feedback are always appreciated and help a lot as a solo developer.
Have fun, and enjoy the grind! 💪
Hey everyone! 👋 Today I want to share a quick look at one of the systems I’ve been working on recently: Character Selection.
Until now, the game was very single-boxer focused. But as the project grew, it became clear that players should be able to choose who they step into the ring with, not just visually, but in terms of identity and progression as well.
The new Character Selection screen allows you to:
Choose your boxer before jumping into the game
Set the foundation for future customization and unlockable characters
The system is designed to be clean, fast, and expandable. Even though it looks simple on the surface, it’s already built to support:
Multiple playable boxers
Different progression paths
Cosmetic and stat-based differences down the line
From a development perspective, this was an important milestone:
Characters are now handled as data-driven entities
The selected character persists cleanly into gameplay
The system integrates smoothly with saving/loading and future content updates
This update sets the stage for:
Visual customization
More personality per boxer
Meaningful choices that affect how you play
As always, feedback is more than welcome. Thanks for following the journey, more updates coming soon! 💪
Stay cozy & keep training, Smiling Stallion Studios
Hey everyone!
We’re halfway through Steam Sports Fest, and it has already been an incredible week for Punch, Rest, Repeat!
First of all, a huge thank you to everyone who watched the new trailer, visited the store page, or added the game to their wishlist. The support means the world and gives us so much motivation to keep polishing the game.
During the festival, we continued improving several core systems of the game. Here’s a small peek behind the gloves:
The training system now has real-time cooldown logic that works even while the game is closed. You punch → you rest → your boxer grows. Simple, cozy, satisfying.
Challenges now spawn dynamically based on real time. And yes, the opponent who knocks on your door stays the same even after closing the game. If Mike challenged you, you’ll still face Mike when you come back. 👀
We’ve been refining the combo challenge to be more fun and responsive. You’ll see smoother timing, clearer feedback, and a better feeling of flow.
Progress is safely stored without you noticing, so your boxer’s growth is always preserved.
Here’s what’s currently on the bench:
More polish for fight animations
Better clarity for challenge indicators
QoL improvements requested by wishlisters
And of course, we’re steadily preparing for the game’s full release later this year.
Every wishlist pushes the game to more players during the Sports Fest and gives me valuable visibility as a solo indie game developer.
Wishlist Punch, Rest, Repeat here:
Thank you again for all the love and support during Sports Fest. We’ll be back with more updates soon, until then…
Punch. Rest. Repeat. 🥊✨
Hello everyone,
We're excited to celebrate Steam Sports Fest 2025 with a brand-new look at "Punch, Rest, Repeat", our cozy desktop boxing companion.
Over the last few weeks, we’ve been polishing artwork, updating UI elements, improving animations, and expanding the overall “desktop companion” experience. As part of the festival, we’re happy to share our Official Gameplay Trailer, showcasing:

Punch, Rest, Repeat is designed to sit comfortably at the bottom of your screen while you work, study, or relax, levelling up your boxer little by little throughout the day.

Hey everyone!
It’s time for a fresh development update, and there’s a lot to share! Punch, Rest, Repeat has been moving forward at full speed, and with the Steam Sports Fest getting closer, I wanted to give you a peek at what’s new behind the scenes.
Let’s jump right in 👇
Your boxer’s progress, upgrades, stats, and settings now save reliably across sessions and devices. This was a big system to finalize, and I’m really happy with how stable and clean it’s working.
The fight system has been reworked to feel smoother and more readable:
Better rhythm
Extra feedback on hits
Cleaner animations
Reduced clutter
You can now let your boxer handle fights automatically while you work or relax. This mode is optional, perfect for players who want a hands-off, cozy experience.
Menus, icons, transitions, energy bars, and multiple small components got a proper cleanup pass to make everything more consistent with the overall cozy theme.
New gym equipment has been added and made upgradeable with meaningful stat bonuses. This should make training progression feel more rewarding.
Lots of little things: flickers, layout issues, timing, text snap… gone.
Numbers will get another round of tuning so training → resting → fighting feels smoother and more satisfying.
The game will support additional languages. Planned initial set:
Chinese
Japanese
Korean
Russian
Turkish
most likely German or Spanish next (depending on wishlist regions)
To improve variety and long-term feel, more scenery & decorative elements are coming soon.
Once the game launches, these features are next on the roadmap:
A long-term progression mechanic to honor your strongest boxers.
To keep the core loop fresh and growing.
Your input will shape how the game evolves, especially the idle pacing.
Thank you so much for following the development of Punch, Rest, Repeat. Your support genuinely means a lot, especially as a tiny solo developer.
If you haven’t yet, adding the game to your wishlist helps massively.
More updates soon, including a gameplay trailer and some surprises as we get closer to launch!
