This update upgrades the game to the latest LTS version of Unity, patching a critical security vulnerability affecting every game currently using the engine. You can read more about this issue in this post on Unity's site.
Known issue: Unfortunately this forced update introduces an input issue when playing with a mouse on Linux, that makes it impossible to click and drag tiles. If you're affected by this, you can choose to opt in to the legacy branch via the game's properties, which will install the previous version of the game.
Fixed a nasty bug that would leave the tiles of certain regions incomplete when you zoomed in.
If you're looking for more puzzle, the demo for my next game Mosaic of the Strange is featured in this month's Steam Next Fest:
The game launches on November 7th, but the playable demo is out right now.
Check out the Demo!
This is the most ambitious game yet in the Mosaic series:
New optional Advanced Deduction mechanics for hardcore players,
Five difficulty levels that you can switch between anytime - the solution stays the same, but the clues get harder,
Over 100,000 tiles (nearly double Proverbs!),
The puzzle now spans multiple interconnected locations - two of which are in the demo,
You’ll get to help FBI Special Agents Cullen and Brady as they investigate a bizarre murder, building their case by researching 125 real-world paranormal files. All progress from the demo carries over to the full game, so feel free to take your time exploring every corner.
I'd love to know peoples’ thoughts as I develop this new game. For more information, and to catch up with me directly, join the Divide the Plunder Discord using the links below and feel free to drop me a follow on my socials too.
This update addresses a few more QoL issues and bugs:
Ctrl+Z no longer also triggers the Z zoom hotkey.
Added a mousewheel sensitivity slider to the settings menu.
Added multiple backups for replay saves.
Reworked the undo system, so that it behaves more naturally.
Tweaked the text in the how to play popup to clarify some common misunderstandings.
Restored Russian language support
This update introduces partial gamepad support for Proverbs, allowing you to sit back and enjoy the game with a controller, as well as making greater use of the Steam Deck's controls. Make sure to use the new official gamepad layout.
In addition, this update includes a range of improvements and bugfixes:
Added VSync options to the settings menu.
You can now hold shift+click as an alternative to right-clicking.
Redesigned loading screen.
100% completion achievement and "Watch Replay" feature now correctly require you to have the entire board solved, not just filled.
Added a text description to the highlight opacity setting.
Balanced volume levels between music tracks.
The "skip track" keyboard shortcut (spacebar) now works again.
Finally, new translations have been added for the following languages:
Portuguese
Polish
Turkish
Korean
If you haven't done so already, be sure to wishlist Mosaic of the Strange. You'll be able to play the demo in the upcoming Steam Next Fest in October!
