Hello Demigods!
We've upgraded just about every system in the game, improved enemy AI & ragdoll physics, added new post processing and times of day, optimized every script for performance, and added a new enemy type.
Combat!
A new enemy: Archon! This is our first dedicated Flying Melee character with all new attack animations. (and we're already working on more upgrades to flying melee for future updates!)
Enemy AI and combat in general has been improved in a number of ways. Better performance & detection, smoother attacks, and less physics weirdness.
Enemies now have a MUCH higher hit rate with melee attacks.
Enemies are better at navigation, coordinating movement with other enemies, and moving to accurate distances for attacking the player.
All enemy melee attacks now cause knockback on the player (If Player Knockback is enabled in settings) Basic enemies will only move you a little, but Giant Robot, Titan, and Archon will really move you. The stronger the enemy, the higher the force!
Insect Queen is now available in multiplayer. We've also improved her movement, animations, and attacks.
Visual Upgrades!
The game is looking SO much better with new post processing. (You can also disable or edit these in the settings for better performance)
Stretch power set: Giant Arms and Grow abilities are now scaled instead of instant. To scale the entire body, set both arms to Stretch Power, then double click and hold the Jump button. To shrink, tap the B/Y buttons as normal.
Web Lines: now bend and show slack when not at full length, and textures look better at a distance.
Performance improvements: we've reworked the traffic, pedestrians, and several sub-systems for better CPU performance overall.
Updated enemy menus. Less clutter, & easier selection.
Improvements
Enemies are now more accurate with combat distancing and melee attacks.
Archon is now more aggressive with attacks, and slightly harder to ragdoll.
Added new setting: Player Knockback Multiplier can be set from 0.1 to 3.0 for increased force on the player when hit with an enemy melee attack.
Added new setting: Strong Melee Attacks Can Cancel Powers. Explosions, Force Waves, and melee attacks from Archon, Flying Blaster, Titan, Giant Robot, Mecha, and Insect Queen now have a chance to cancel active player abilities when hit.
Added "Per Map/Time of Day" settings in the Settings -> Visuals menu. Now when you select a time of day for a specific level, you can adjust several of those settings, or override them to use the base game's Global settings.
Updated all times of day for all maps.
Disabled Tonemapping for Quest. It made everything too dark, and wasn't really doing anything since Quest builds don't use the HDR colors.
Minor performance optimizations.

Patch 2.01.15 is now live! Thank you to everyone who play tested and reported bugs, you were a huge help! Thanks to you guys, we discovered underlying problems with some of the core systems, as well as some limitations of the game engine. It took us way longer than we wanted, but we fixed a TON of bugs & upgraded multiple systems. While there are some remaining visual bugs, the game is probably in the best state its ever been in! Here are the highlights:
Gameplay Notes:
Wall Running now auto-rotates you back to normal unless you have checked the “Enter Free Flow” option in the menu.
Super Speed Slow Motion now affects enemies, drones, and projectiles. (This is a new system and will be improved over time, along with Super Speed mechanics!)
Multiplayer
To use multiplayer, all players MUST be using the same version of the game. In this case, it should be 2.01.15. Otherwise multiplayer wont work correctly. (This is a limitation of Fusion, the multiplayer engine)
Multiplayer Avatars now have colliders! And while you cant control other players, you can now grab them. Let the weird physics begin!
Fixed several issues with enemies.
Updated Avatar IK system + setup.
Fixed UI issue with server refreshing & improved multiplayer UI for readability & details.
General
Improved overall player physics code. It’s now much smoother when using dynamic movement like jumping, web zipping, and explosion movement. It may take a little getting used to because it feels different, but it’s much better than before.
Avatars should now sync to the player body better when strong movements occur.
Overhauled Avatar & Power Customization
Fixed longstanding issue with enemy AI logic. Many enemies now switch between Melee and Ranged attacks based on player location.
Created an auto-rig program that should fix the weird head & arm ik + leg rotations for a ton of mods.
Smoothed out the loading sequence for levels and multiplayer.
Fixed & Improved Insect Queen.
Upgraded enemy missile logic.
Improved Indicator system.
General Bug Fixes
Fixed the memory leak causing crashes.
Fixed bug causing lightmaps to take up much more RAM than intended.
Fixed longstanding Quest bug where the player menu would cause lag when opening & closing.
Fixed Multiplayer UI that would close the keyboard and refresh anytime a room was created.
Fixed Enemy Spawning locations + Multiplayer Spawning issues.
Fixed bug where enemies would get locked into certain ranges and stop attacking.
Fixed issues with indicators getting disabled.
Fixed new pedestrians & their ragdolls.
Fixed powers/abilities in multiplayer.
Fixed UI for enemy readouts.
Fixed edge cases where friction wasn’t restored to the player body after switching movement styles.
Fixed missing hero events.
Fixed Grapple Gun, Bow, and LCK camera.
Fixed Utility Belt.
Fixed issues with modio browser.
Finally, as a way of saying thank you, I thought I’d drop a teaser: designs and artwork for the 11th power set, coming this year. One of the most asked for power sets since the game started!
Calling all superheroes: Social Multiplayer and Drone Combat is now in game!
Fight Drones, Turrets, and the new Attack Helicopters together. Swing, fly, race, or just hang out with other Demigods in seamless multiplayer! (Full enemy combat is coming soon in a future update!)
Project Demigod is constantly expanding. New powers, maps, missions, enemies, and features are in development and released regularly—so there’s always a new way to test your might.
