Hello Riders,

Today we are releasing a major update – perhaps our most significant one yet! Here is what’s new:

Career Mode The world’s best riders don't just reach the pinnacle of the sport; they stay there. Success isn't about finding a once-in-a-lifetime horse – it's about the ability to develop different horses all the way to the top. In Career Mode, you will do exactly that.

• Prove your mastery over 20 seasons by managing a string of horses. As your Grand Prix star retires, your Performance horse steps up, and a new young Prospect joins the string – allowing you to develop 7 unique horses in total throughout your journey.

• Horses will improve over time based on your results. This is your chance to prove you are the ultimate Pro Show Jumping player by adapting your style to bring out the best in every horse.

• Steam Leaderboards are now live for seasonal results, individual horse results, and overall career standings.

New Arenas and Obstacles

• 3 new arenas are available: One indoor arena inspired by the London International Horse Show, plus two configurations (day, night) of an outdoor grass arena inspired by the historic Aachen venue.

• We’ve doubled the number of available obstacles, including a beautiful Tori wall and the infamous "cow wall" – a signature feature of the Geneva CHI.

Graphics

• Next-Gen Upscaling Technology: We have updated to the latest upscaling algorithms. You can now select your preferred method in the Options menu. Supported tech includes DLSS 4.5/4.0, FSR 4.1/3.0, and XeSS 3. Try them out to find the perfect balance of quality and performance for your system.

• Optimization: Enjoy smoother gameplay with the most recent performance improvements.

Minor Improvements

• Save files are now stored on the Steam Cloud with integrated backups. This addresses previous issues regarding local file corruption and ensures your progress and records are safe.

• Added a new UI panel on the course initialization screen featuring the course name, course height, horse name and your Steam user name. This is especially helpful in Career Mode, where you may ride up to 9 consecutive classes at a single venue.

• Added an option to mute all in-game music.

• Fixed a bug that prevented the keyboard from functioning when naming user-created courses or exercises

• As you know, targeting a slightly short takeoff distance will force the horse to adapt its stride frequency, giving a jump quality boost (check out the Automatic Stride Adjustment section of the Tutorial for more information). Now horses are more tolerant of such short takeoff distances, and the effect on the jump quality is significantly stronger, so make sure you find the sweet spot!
• On the flip side, if the takeoff distance is too short the stride length will be shortened upon landing. In other words, if you have a lousy approach to an obstacle make sure you bring back your horse to a good canter after landing.
• Added a new horse characteristic, its size. A normal distance will ride short on a large horse, and it will ride long on a small horse. This is specially important in combinations, where there is no time to adapt the canter. So you will have to ride combinations differently depending on the size of your horse: Use a somewhat extended canter with small horses, and a somewhat collected canter with large horses.
• Updated the jump animations. The jump now looks more natural, specially the landing.
• Updated the canter animations. The canter is more bouncy, the horse tilts more when turning at high speed, and there is a greater weight distribution difference (hind legs / forelegs) between collected and extended canter.
• Reduced the obstacle bar length to 3.0 m, and introduced two varieties of skinny plank: 2.5 m and 2.0 m long.
• Small rebalance in horse stats: Slight Balance increase for Comme Il Faudrait and Galoubet du Rouet, and slight Sensitivity increase for Uniting Touch.
• Increased the sensitivity of look right/left.
• Minor performance improvements.

Hello riders, the big summer update is here! Please read carefully.

• A brand new indoor arena is now available. It is inspired by the world-class Geneva CHI. The previous indoor arena will remain available for training exercises only.

• Two new horses have arrived to our stables. Uniting Touch, an extremely gifted jumper that can be difficult to control on short distances due to his huge stride and relatively low sensitivity; Checkers, a very well-rounded gray horse that is easy to ride.

• Added three new championships (12 new courses): Beijing 2008, Rio 2016, and Tokyo 2020. These are among the most difficult courses, so make sure you study the course plan and define your riding strategy wisely!

• Added two new jacket colors: Orange, for all those Netherlands supporters, and Azure, for Christian Ahlmann fans.

• Improved performance thanks to optimizations on texture size and compression, LODs for spectators, trees and plants, and garbage collection scheduling.

• Added an additional graphics quality preset, Ultra RT, which includes ray-traced shadows. Of course, it only targets high-end graphics cards.

• Control of the resolution upscaling quality for DLSS and FSR is now available on Options. This replaces the previous render resolution control.

• Added the look left/right feature to the first-person camera perspective. As with the other camera perspectives, look left/right is controlled with the left/right triggers.

• Fine-tune some of the mechanics. Increased the effect of Agility: the jump quality is now less affected by stride length adaptions done by the horse on the final two strides. Increased the effect of Balance: Now a high Balance reduces the sensitivity of the horse's balance to sudden stride length and direction changes. Increased the jump height penalty that comes with a long stride: It is now harder to jump clear over verticals with a long canter stride.

• Fine-tuned the animations: The canter is now more bouncy, and it is more forehand loaded when the stride is long, and more hindquarter loaded when the stride is collected. The jump landing is now smoother.

• Updated the tutorial videos and horse selection renders to reflect the current visuals of the game.

• Added 9 new courses and 2 new championships: London 2012 and Paris 2024. Three of the Paris 2024 courses were available for download on the Workshop, these have now been removed from the Workshop and included by default in the game; the existing leaderboards for these courses are maintained.
• Added a new obstacle type, the water jump. Make sure you ride with a sufficiently long canter to clear the water! This new obstacle has been included on 4 previously existing courses as well as 6 of the new courses.
• Significantly increased the horses' sensitivity to turning: you can now make much sharper turns, like in real life show jumping. The horses will also tend towards a straight trajectory faster than before when you release the joystick.
• Added branding to some of the obstacles to increase their realism.
• Updated the behavior of the dynamic variables (balance, stride length, turn curvature) when jumping. Before, there were sharp changes in sensitivity while the horse was taking off, on the air, or landing. Now these adjustments to sensitivity are introduced smoothly.
• English commentary has been updated with state-of-the-art TTS. Now comments in English sound more realistic, and there is 5x higher variety of comments, both in terms of content and intonation.
• The horse trajectory indicator, the white stripe on the ground showing where the horse is heading, is now only available on Beginner and Intermediate difficulty levels. On Professional difficulty level you now need to feel and adjust where the horse is heading without the help of the (unrealistic) ground indicator.
• Fixed a bug whereby any triggered horse jump counted as having cleared the obstacle. Now you actually have to cross the obstacle through the center and in the right direction. This also means that if the horse jump is triggered by passing very near an obstacle that you are not intending to jump (in the context of a jump-off-type turn) you will no longer be disqualified for "jumping the wrong obstacle".
• Slight re-balancing of horse stats: Baloubet du Rouet is no longer significantly better than other horses, so give them all a try!
• Updated the rider face and hand textures, they no longer look like mannequins.
• Implemented performance enhancements (optimal texture compression, use of DLSS).
• The course name font on the course selection screen now adapts to accommodate the very long user-generated course names.
• Cleaned the Workshop from "bad" submissions. There were about 100 submissions that were no more than a test from the part of the player, for instance a couple of random obstacles and no start/finish detectors. These have now been hidden so that they do not unnecessarily crowd the Workshop. Please consider deleting any submissions that are of this kind.

• A photo mode is now available on the pause menu (save Steam screenshots with F12)
• Now when the horse touches a pole it becomes more attentive (it gains a jump quality/height bonus for some time thereafter), like in real life
• Minor re-balancing of horse stats
• Improved lighting performance on internal arena

• New option: Joystick drift prevention. If you are experiencing joystick drift (the horse turning all the way left/right if you let go of the joystick) then try increasing this parameter from "Standard" to "High" or "Very High".
