Fixed some untranslated pieces of text in the flipping world
Fixed a problem where the lights would turn off when the cracks started appearing in the queen's world
Piece by Piece is 25% off during the Steam Summer Sale.
To mark the sale, we’ll be streaming live here on Steam and playing through a mix of levels from the game, including some tougher late-game puzzles for anyone who wants to see how strange, tricky, and satisfying the puzzle boxes can get.
If you’re new to Piece by Piece, it’s a 'literal' puzzle platformer built around real puzzle-piece mechanics. You connect, rotate, flip, clone, mine, portal, and draw your way through handcrafted levels, collecting golden puzzle pieces along the way.
Fixed a collectable's position that was accidentally made impossible to get in the portals world. Oops
The Shattered Worlds Update is here, bringing a new endgame challenge to Piece by Piece as a free content update.
This update adds 12 new levels, one for every puzzle box! Each one is designed to be the most difficult level in its puzzle box, built for players who have already reached 100% completion or plan to push for it in the future. Each level contains the most puzzle pieces than any level in its box and more golden puzzle pieces to collect than ever before.
To access Shattered Worlds, you'll need to do something a little dangerous: Shatter your 100% save file. Have no fear, this will not delete or wipe your progress. Once a save file has been fully completed, you can shatter it to unlock the ability to shatter puzzle boxes. Shattering a puzzle box reveals a new, much harder level hidden inside.
As you collect all of the golden puzzle pieces in each level, more puzzle boxes will be able to be shattered. To reach the final shattered level, you'll have to 100% every shattered level before it. The update is built for players who want one final test. The Shattered Worlds level are difficult, demanding, and absolutely not for the faint of heart....good luck :) One important note: We're aware that many of you may have already earned 100% completion and then deleted their save file for the original achievement tied to doing so. Fear not. The Shattered Worlds Update will detect that and restore your 100% save file, giving you the chance to shatter it properly.
Added fully rebindable controls for both keyboard & mouse and gamepad.
Added support for additional keyboard layouts with correct key glyphs (e.g. A instead of Q on AZERTY keyboards).
Expanded aspect ratio support from 4:3 up to 21:9 ultrawide.
Improved gamepad UI navigation by allowing continuous navigation when holding the D-pad or analog stick.
Improved performance, delivering approximately 15% higher FPS across the game.
Improved screenshot capture for feedback, with screenshots now taken before any camera movement occurs.
Thank you to everyone who has played, completed, and even 100%’d Piece by Piece. This update is for the players who wanted more....and to be tested. This is the last update we'll be making to Piece by Piece. It was our first ever game and we couldn't be prouder of it. Your support has allowed our small team to become full time game devs. It's surreal. It's unbelieveable. It's....more than I can sum up on a small Steam update post. Next week we'll be showing the first look at our next game, Project Babel. If you're interested to see what we're cooking up, please follow us on social media.
All the best, Neon Polygons
Quick hotfix. A bug made the video tab completely empty for Steamdeck users. This prevented them from changing useful settings, as well as getting one secret achievement.
Quick hotfix. Some people weren't being granted the "Into the Rift" achievement. This is now fixed and should be granted to you when you load your save file, along with any other missing achievements you should have unlocked by this point.
Fixed some visual artifacting when flipping a piece at lower FPS.
Fixed an issue that made moving blueprints jittery if pressing keyboard keys at the same time.
Fixed an issue where the player could enter a door while on the flipside of a piece.
Added "F" as an alternative to right-click for laptop / trackpad users
Reworded a setting to be shorter
Spotted a little guy in the Cyber Copy box.
Hi everyone,
It has officially been one week since Piece by Piece launched.
First, thank you. Launch week has been incredible for us. Seeing so many of you jump in, solve puzzles, experiment, share feedback, report bugs, and leave kind words has meant a lot to our team. Releasing a game is one thing. Watching people actually play it, talk about it, and connect with it is something else entirely.
If you are connecting with it, we'd love if you could leave a review. Reviews make a huge difference to an indie game like ours, and we'd love to hear your thoughts on the game!
You may have also seen all the love surrounding the other Piece by Piece game, so of course, we had to celebrate each other! You can now grab the Piece by Piece Double Bundle. If you want to support both teams, you can find it here: A cozy shopkeeping sim and a literal puzzle platformer. Same name. Very different vibes. Somehow it works.
We’ve also just pushed a small post-launch update based on early feedback and bug reports. Here’s what changed:
Added Controller Vibration to make puzzle solving more haptic
Added an option to turn off Controller Vibration in the settings menu
Added option to add seams between connected pieces, making it easier to see the notches of each piece
Added Exclusive Fullscreen option
Window Mode option is now a dropdown
Languages dropdown menu is now smaller and scrollable
Fixed small dropdown menu showing a slider even when unnecessary
Gamepad icons for Options tab navigation now adapt their positions based on language
Added option to disable floating UI
Game version now only displays in the main menu
Fixed tutorial text not changing on mouse movement or input
F11 now changes to fullscreen, not exclusive fullscreen
Fixed an issue where the debug menu would appear when pressing F1 twice
Fixed some VSync issues
Fixed an issue where players could not jump out of a portal without being forced into it
Technical
Added DirectX 12 as a launch option (Most players should not need this, but it may help if you have issues running the game with Vulkan)
Thank you again for an amazing first week. We’re excited to keep improving the game and share more about what you can expect for the future of Piece by Piece in the coming weeks. Cheers
Digging while touching a platform no longer disables its collision permanently.
Digging particles will now appear correctly on Deep Delve level-3.
Default fullscreen settings changed to match the in-game full screen button.
Fixed streaming issues caused by Vsync when playing the game in full-screen.
Fixed a bug where putting a blueprint on a flipped piece would sometimes make the piece enter ultra instinct.
World ???-6 was tweaked to prevent picking up the golden puzzle piece through the wall.
Cogs and Canvases - 1's door was moved a little bit to make a jump easier without accidentally entering it.
Turned Vsync on by default.
Fixed some typos in the French translation.
Probably some other stuff I forgot about.
Piece by Piece is a literal puzzle platformer where every level is made from jigsaw puzzle pieces you manipulate to solve platforming challenges.
This is our launch stream showing live gameplay, puzzle mechanics, and several levels from the full game.
• 100 handcrafted levels
• 12 unique puzzle boxes
• Creative puzzle mechanics using individual pieces
The full game is available now on Steam.
We're so excited for you to start solving puzzles! We’ve been quietly obsessing over tiny details, rotating things that probably didn’t need rotating, and snapping puzzle pieces together at unreasonable hours. It’s finally time to let you do the same. Piece by Piece is available NOW! This is not your typical puzzle platformer, this is a literal puzzle platformer. Each level is built out of jigsaw pieces, where the level is the puzzle and the puzzle is the level.
100 handcrafted levels designed to challenge how you think about space, movement, and connection.
12 unique puzzle boxes, each introducing new mechanics and layered twists that build on what you’ve learned (and occasionally what you thought you learned).
A cozy, tactile world where every interaction feels deliberate, from snapping pieces into place to discovering unexpected solutions.
Mechanics that evolve constantly: connect, rotate, flip, clone, traverse, and manipulate pieces to reshape the path forward.
A calm, atmospheric presentation paired with an ethereal soundtrack that helps players stay in flow.

Piece by Piece releases on Steam on March 13.
This is not your traditional jigsaw. This is a platformer built out of jigsaw pieces, where the level is the puzzle and the puzzle is the level. Movement, placement, and spatial thinking all blur together into one cohesive, slightly mind-bending experience.

What started as a game jam experiment grew into something much larger. The core idea was simple: what if puzzle pieces weren’t just the solution, but the environment itself? From there, every level became an exploration of that question.
The result is a game about observation, creativity, and the quiet satisfaction of making something fit exactly where it belongs.
If you haven’t yet, the demo is available now and offers an early look at the mechanics and tone of the full experience. Progressively stranger ideas await in the full release.
