As of version 0.099 you will find a brand new puzzle pack amongst your Piczle Cross puzzles containing the 20 (+1) specially selected winners of the second Creator Competition! The 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed winners will be the very first puzzles in this pack, with the rest being made up, in no particular order, of the runners up. Be sure to thumbs-up the creators when playing their puzzles if you've enjoyed them!
Winners and runners up should receive their special profile style and stickers. Thank you everybody for entering this competition! Not only was it a nice celebration of Score Studios' 17th birthday, and the Piczle games and characters, it was really cool to see, again, how creatively people interpreted the brief!
If you have ideas for the next Creator Competition do let me know in the Discord, but know that it'll probably revolve around Piczle Colors puzzles next time!
This June Score Studios will be 17 years old! That means they are in their awkward, gangly phase. They feel all grown up but have still a little while to go, while hormones are going crazy. Old enough to drive, in some places, but not yet to drink (in some places). And always taking such long showers!? Anyway, let's have a cool new Creator Competition to celebrate!
Create a puzzle on the theme "SCORE"
The puzzle has to be a colour nonogram and be 15x15 sized!
The puzzle has to be validated and published to the Steam Workshop
Do not create inappropriate puzzles, or ones based on existing IP owned by litigious corporations
You can submit as many puzzles as you like
Because June is Score Studios' birthday, the theme is "SCORE". However, as with the previous competition, creative interpretations are welcome! You can either create puzzles featuring or inspired by your favourite Piczle characters or games, a Piczle memory, or indeed a wish for future Piczle games.
But "SCORE" can mean so many things! The rewards of a big heist, twenty of something, video game points, whatever you can think of! Let your imagination run wild!
NOTE: The "theme" selection from within the puzzle creator is not relevant to this competition.
Judgmental as ever, I will be keeping an eye on the following qualities when selecting my favourite puzzles:
Creative interpretation of the theme
How pleasing the final image of the solved puzzle is
Regardless of difficulty, is the puzzle fun to play?
Colour puzzles don't really require a separate solution image, do they? I won't be judging on artistic skills. As always, whether or not the puzzle is fun to solve and the solution is a fun surprise will be the main things to aim for!
As with the previous competition, selected puzzles will be included in their very own puzzle pack, guaranteeing more players will see and enjoy them! The creators of puzzles included in this pack will unlock profile cosmetics: a custom profile style and a profile sticker (1st, 2nd, 3rd place and runner-up stickers). The top 3 will also get their own "James says" factoid describing why that puzzle won.
Once you've created, validated and published a puzzle to the Steam Workshop, select the Creator Competition button from the main menu. A selection of eligible puzzles will be shown for you to select. Once you've clicked on the one(s) you want to enter...that's it!
If you're not seeing this button make sure you've updated to version v0.097 or later, as seen just above the title on the main menu.
Happy puzzle creating, everyone!

After long and interesting discussions on the Club Piczle Discord I have decided to change the Steam Achievements in Piczle World of Puzzles (as of May 15th, v0.095).
In-game badges will remain as they are, but there is now an entirely new set of Steam achievements separate from these badges. But for why, you may ask? Well, there were a few issues:
PWOP has not yet reached the audience that Valve deems sufficient to lift the Steam achievement limit. As I had designed well over 100 badges for PWOP I had hoped that limit might be raised by the time I added more content, but alas. This indecorous imbalance was starting to grate.
Secondly, some achievements seemed to invite achievement hunters to flood the Workshop with zero-effort puzzles that were ruining the enjoyment of other players. This was both an oversight on my part, and a bad design decision...um, also on my part. This prompted a rethink and a frank and interesting discussion within the Piczle community.
These new Steam achievements are different in a few specific ways:
Achievements for clearing a set number of puzzles are no longer tied to specific Piczle puzzle types. This way you can simply focus on the puzzles you enjoy most, without feeling forced to play puzzle types you enjoy less.
Workshop achievements have been axed.
Various achievements are implemented to have players try out functionality they may otherwise miss.
As I mentioned, in-game badges remain as they are. I am assuming, and hoping, that people that care about badges care about Piczle World of Puzzles and see them as fun progress rather than "must unlock achievement at all costs!". That said, zero-effort Workshop puzzles will still be pruned based on player reports, and flooding the Workshop with zero-effort puzzles will lead to them being banned, as they can severely impact the enjoyment of other players!
I hope this shift won't cause too many issues. Long-time players should get relevant achievements unlocking immediately based on past play statistics, hopefully, but do let me know in the Discord if technical issues arise and I shall try my best to fix them in time!
Good news if you've previously purchased the Stater Pack DLC for Piczle World of Puzzles! With the recent addition of the Piczle Colors puzzle type the Starter Pack DLC has been expanded to include four more puzzle packs with 25 Piczle Colors puzzles each!
Themed vegetables, beauty, fitness and video games, these puzzles are a part of a balanced and healthy lifestyle!
As of version v.093 (May 3rd, 2026) you should find these additional puzzle packs pop up in your Piczle Colors puzzle selection automatically. If you've not yet purchased the Starter Pack, now is as good a time as ever, as it will give you over 350 individual puzzles across all available puzzle types!
Aside from Piczle Cross, Piczle Color Cross and Piczle Lines you can now also play Piczle Colors puzzles in Piczle World of Puzzles! Based on the colour nonogram variant as presented in the 2019 Nintendo Switch release "Piczle Colors" this will be the first time you can play these puzzles on PC!
This update includes:
25 (?) free Piczle Colors puzzles, with more to come!
New Piczle Academy courses explaining this nonogram variant.
Expanded puzzle editor that lets you create, test and publish your own Piczle Colors puzzles to the Steam Workshop
In-game badges
A new DLC with all the original game's puzzles (over 300 of them!), with a new profile style, stickers, avatars and a puzzle theme!
In the near-future Piczle Colors puzzles will also be added to the Starter Pack DLC. Players who have already purchased this DLC should see those puzzles pop up automatically once I've added them. At some point Piczle Color puzzles will also be added into the Daily Puzzles rotation!
If you don't follow the patch notes on the official Club Piczle Discord you may have missed some other updates that have occurred recently:
The Puzzle REcreator, which allows you to copy puzzles from magazines or books to play them within Piczle World of Puzzles.
The DJ Mode which lets you select which music tracks to play while you puzzle regardless of the puzzle theme you've selected.
New menu muzak.
QoL tweaks for improved visibility, readability and more.
Steam start-up options for easy selection between DX11, DX12 and Vulkan rendering
An art gallery for special art included with DLC based on previous Piczle games.
As you can see Piczle World of Puzzles is a work in progress with new features and fixes added all the time! Especially readability and colour visibility is an on-going project with more fixes and features planned to make colour puzzling easy and accessible for everyone!
Don't forget to join the official Club Piczle Discord if you want to discuss ideas, report bugs, or just chat with an amazing group of like-minded puzzle enthusiasts!
For those of you who have been playing along with the "take a shot for every mention of 'Piczle'" you should probably drink some water, 16 shots is a dangerous amount!
As of version 0.081 you will find a brand new puzzle pack amongst your Piczle Cross puzzles containing the 32 specially selected winners of the first ever Creator Competition! The 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed winners will be the very first puzzles in this pack, with the rest being made up, in no particular order, of the runners up. Be sure to thumbs-up the creators when playing their puzzles if you've enjoyed them!\
Winners and runners up should receive their special profile style and stickers. Thank you everybody for entering this competition! Playing all the entries was a blast and I think everybody absolutely hit it out of the park! I hope this will also encourage players to check out the workshop puzzles in general because there is some real creativity on show there!
Are you enjoying the Piczle puzzle creator and the Steam Workshop puzzles? Then why not enter into this Creator Competition for a chance to win cosmetics and eternal fame*!
Create a puzzle on the theme "Cold Snap"
The puzzle has to be a black & white nonogram and be 15x15 sized!
The puzzle has to be validated and published to the Steam Workshop
Do not create inappropriate puzzles, or ones based on existing IP owned by litigious corporations
You can submit as many puzzles as you like
"Cold snap"? So, just...winter themed puzzles? Not necessarily! Any creative interpretation is allowed! A rude finger-click at a waiter, or an emotionally distant pea? But also, sure, winter themed puzzles are also good!
NOTE: The "theme" selection from within the puzzle creator is not relevant to this competition.
Oh, you will be judged! By the Piczle creator themselves! Here are some of the things Judgy McJudgerson will be looking for:
Creative interpretation of the theme
How pleasing the final image of the solved puzzle is
Regardless of difficulty, is the puzzle fun to play?
Because this isn't an art competition a coloured final solution image doesn't have to be included (but personal preferences tend to lean that way)
Selected puzzles will be included in their very own puzzle pack, guaranteeing more players will see and enjoy them!
If you're not seeing this button make sure you've updated to version v0.076 or later, as seen just above the title on the main menu.
