This update introduces the new Ride Comfort Rating System!
Until now, the main objective was simply reaching your destination. From now on, keeping both passengers and cargo comfortable has become an important part of every mission.
Drive smoothly by avoiding harsh acceleration, harsh braking, and excessive lateral sway!
Your driving smoothness is now evaluated when you complete a mission.
A new G-Force Meter has been added during driving.
The meter visualizes the forces acting on your train in real time.
Green indicates smooth driving.
Yellow indicates caution.
Red indicates excessive G-forces.(Subject to point deduction)
Use the G-Force Meter as a guide to improve your driving technique.
Your final driving performance is evaluated based on harsh acceleration, harsh braking, and lateral sway.
The results are ranked into four grades:
Rank
Score
Reward Multiplier

along with the number of occurrences, making it easy to see which aspects of your driving need improvement.
When penalty events occur, reaction animations are now displayed.
These reactions can also be disabled using the Voice Volume setting.
Drive smoothly, aim for a perfect 100-point S Rank, and earn higher mission rewards!
Thank you for continuing to support Physical TRAIN – Chamland National Railway.
EA Ver.0.3.2 has been released!
This update adds Trackside View Mode and the ability to switch to the viewpoint of AI trains.
As a pre-Steam Train Fest update, we have strengthened features that let you not only drive trains, but also enjoy watching them.
Trackside View Mode Added A new view mode has been added that lets you watch trains from along the railway line. In addition to the existing driving views and external camera, you can now enjoy watching trains run through the diorama from a trackside perspective, as if observing them from beside the rails.
Switching to AI Train Viewpoints You can now click on an AI train to switch to that train’s viewpoint. AI trains are currently operating in shuttle mode on the local line west of Cham City and inside the freight station yard. Please note that AI trains are experimentally introduced for viewing purposes, and cannot be controlled after switching to their viewpoint. Please try watching the AI trains running through the diorama using this new viewpoint-switching feature.
About Steam Train Fest Physical TRAIN is scheduled to take part in the upcoming Steam Train Fest.
In the previous EA Ver.0.3.1 update, we added the B20 steam locomotive and experimentally introduced AI trains. Together with this Ver.0.3.2 update, we hope you enjoy the physics-based digital railway diorama! If you enjoy the game, I would greatly appreciate it if you could share your thoughts in a Steam review.
Added AI train wiring and AI trains to the Chum City freight area.
Fixed an issue where rewards were not displayed upon mission completion in Mission Generation (Mission Beta).
This update has been released as part of our preparation for Steam Train Fest.
It includes the addition of the B20 steam locomotive, the experimental introduction of AI trains, several UI improvements, new signals, and fixes for Map Mode.
Please enjoy the newly added B20 steam locomotive and the new movement it brings to the diorama!
B20 Steam Locomotive Added The B20 steam locomotive was a small tank-type steam locomotive built in limited numbers in Japan from the end of World War II to the early postwar period for switching operations. In this implementation, I worked on recreating the motion of the rods, steam effects, and sounds, along with a small interior gimmick. This vehicle is a purchase-only locomotive, limited to one unit. The price is set low at 100 cat, so please feel free to try purchasing it. A gold decoration for the B20 has also been added. After purchasing it from the Shop, you need to deploy it before it appears at the Cham Engine Depot. Please note that locomotives other than the B20 can generally be owned up to three units. Owned vehicles have the following features: ・No rental fee is charged when using them for freight transport ・They will appear in the same location when you restart the game ・If they were located at the initial vehicle spawn point, they will be stored instead ・They can be stored and deployed at any time ・Decorations can be set individually for each vehicle
Experimental AI Trains Added To bring more movement to the diorama, AI trains have been introduced experimentally. A local station and a short dedicated line for AI trains have been added to the west side of Cham City Station. At the moment, AI trains automatically operate in shuttle mode between stations. The track is connected, so it is technically possible for player trains to enter the AI train line. However, this may cause collisions or unexpected behavior. Please do not switch the turnout or enter the AI train line!
Some UI Improvements The Help screen content has been updated. The content has been refined, and localization support has also been added. The Shop screen UI has also been improved. Items are now indented by category, making the list easier to read than before. However, the Shop screen is still planned to receive a more fundamental redesign in the future.
Signals Added Signals have been added from Swift Village toward Macaron Village, as well as around Macaron Village Station.
Map Mode Improvements Fixed an issue where some tracks were displayed incorrectly in Map Mode. Also fixed an issue where bridges were not displayed on the map.
This update has been released as part of the content prepared for Steam Train Fest.
Please enjoy the B20 steam locomotive and the new diorama movement brought by the experimental AI trains!
If you enjoy the game, I would greatly appreciate it if you could leave your thoughts in a Steam review.
Physical TRAIN has been selected for “SELECTED INDIE 80,” the indie game program at Tokyo Game Show 2026!
Physical TRAIN is a physics-based digital railway diorama where you can freely run trains through a world inspired by model railway layouts.
In this game, trains do not simply move along invisible preset paths. Instead, their wheels rotate and roll on the rails to drive them forward. The game is set in the Chamland Republic, a young nation developing in a mountainous region. Across routes with a variety of scenery, including mountain lines, cities, and harbors, players take on freight and passenger transport missions while contributing to the growth of the railway network and the country.
Bringing trains to life by having their wheels physically roll on the rails has been a much greater challenge than I first imagined. Even so, I have continued refining the game through many rounds of trial and error, aiming to make the trains run stably while capturing the beautiful movement of an entire train consist.
At Tokyo Game Show 2026, we are planning to exhibit the game and offer visitors a chance to try it in person. I look forward to meeting you all at the event!

Thank you for your continued support of Physical TRAIN!
We are planning to add the Class B20 steam locomotive to the game!
This compact steam locomotive will be available as a purchase-only vehicle for a low price of 100 cat. Only one Class B20 can be owned.
As shown in the latter half of the video, we are also preparing a set of golden decorations for the B20, available for 100 cat.
The Class B20 is planned to arrive in an update before Steam Train Fest 2026, which runs from July 21 to July 28 in Japan.
We hope you look forward to the update!
The following improvements have been made:
Game Performance Optimization Refactoring was performed to primarily reduce memory usage. Additionally, the rendering of railway tracks in Map Mode has been optimized to improve performance.
New Mission Added A new passenger mission covering the longest distance to date (between Trena Port and Macaron Village) has been added. Since it involves hauling passenger coaches, players can enjoy switching locomotives between electrified and non-electrified sections.
Bug Fixes Issues affecting certain terrain elements and vehicle settings (couplers) have been resolved.
We have opened the route to Macaron Village and implemented some UI improvements!
Macaron Village Located by the lakeside south of Swift Village, past the mountain pass. Two intermediate stations have been added along the way. We plan to add more missions in the future.
Partial UI Improvements We have revamped the UI for the main screen and the mission screen. We plan to make further improvements at a later date.
In addition, we have added a visual representation of engine exhaust heat.
We're working on improving the UI alongside world construction.
We've also tried to recreate the heat haze caused by engine heat!
Currently, we are working on development south of Swift Village, towards Lake Macaron.
We will reach Macaron Village by passing through the valley.
After this, we plan to build all the way south to the fortified city of Soltina City.
The following has been added:
Regarding locomotive purchases, the following changes have been made:
You can now purchase and own locomotives using currency (cat.).
Purchasing(buy), placing(recall), storing, and changing the color and equipment of your own locomotives are done through the shop screen.
Purchased locomotives can be placed on specific tracks in the Cham Garage.
The position of your locomotives is retained even if you quit or reset the game.
Your locomotives can be stored anytime, anywhere.
You can own up to 3 locomotives of each type.
You can change the color and equipment of each locomotive.
When completing missions using locomotives that have already been placed, the monetary reward will be paid after deducting the rental fee set for each type.
The decision to use a rental vehicle is made if it has been coupled with the mission target vehicle at least once.
No rental fee is charged if the mission is completed using only your own locomotives.
No rental fee is charged for passenger missions.
In addition, we've expanded the range of building objects and introduced cant (slope) to some curves.
The following has been added:
Adding passengers Passengers will now be generated at all stations and will board and alight at departure times after a certain period of time has passed since the train stopped at a station. Each passenger has a destination. Currently, there are four types of avatars, but we plan to add more in the future.
Addition of station name signs Station name signs have been added to each station.
Map Changes To make it easier to add auxiliary locomotives to Eiger Village, a siding has been added from Trail Ridge towards Chum City, allowing electric locomotives to be kept on standby.
Mission Added A passenger mission has been added between Eiger Village and Trena Harbor. A change of direction at Trail Ridge will be required.
Added Voice Volume Setting You can now adjust the volume of in-car announcements individually. You can change this using the slider bar in the ESC button menu. If you don't need this feature, move it all the way to the left.
Bug Fixes The stopping location settings were incorrect in some missions, so this has been corrected.
We've added Sunset Hill Station between Grand Forge Station and the recently added Trail Ridge Station. It's designed to resemble a hill overlooking the sunset.
We've also optimized the stopping position and speed at Swift Village.
We have completed the addition of station stop mode and in-car announcements to all existing passenger missions!
The "Exp" in the mission name stands for express train.
We've also added two intermediate stations, so please give it a try!
We plan to continue making improvements to enhance the atmosphere.
We've added in-car announcements to the experimental passenger mission between Chum City and Swift Village to enhance the atmosphere! Please excuse the English pronunciation, as it's meant to sound like a Japanese conductor making the announcements.
We plan to gradually add audio to other passenger missions in the future.
We have experimentally added a passenger station stop mode.
Addition of Passenger Station Stop Mode We have experimentally added a stop mission mode, including intermediate stations, to the passenger mission between Cham City and Swift Village. Stopping for 10 seconds within 1 meter before or after a stop sign (white circle on a black background) will transition to the next station. The mission itself cannot be completed unless you stop at all stations. Please note that determining the stop point is difficult, and the plus/minus signs may be displayed incorrectly.
If there are no particular problems, we plan to gradually add this mode to other passenger missions.
The following additions and bug fixes have been implemented:
Added BGM Previously, only sound effects were available, but we have now added a background music (BGM) function. The initial volume is set to -15dB. You can control the volume from the menu accessed by pressing the ESC key (the slider at the top right). If you do not need BGM, slide the slider to the left to set it to -80dB. Several background music tracks will play randomly. We plan to add more background music in the future.
Bug Fixes We have fixed an issue with the recently added coupler highlighting feature where it was behaving incorrectly when accepting missions, etc.
Each vehicle has a front and rear section, but it was difficult to tell which coupler was actually being used for coupling or uncoupling. Therefore, we have added a feature that highlights the target coupler when the mouse hovers over a button.
The following additions and improvements have been made. The trial version has also been updated.
New body colors have been added to ED16 and SUHA43 The Old Japanese sleeper train "Blue Train" color, "Blue No. 20", has been added! It can be purchased and applied from the shop.
Improved track alignment near Swift Village Improved the curved track between Cham City and Swift Village.
Audio Improvements Fixed an issue where the horn would cut out.
The height of each vehicle was changed due to changes in the physics processing settings, so this has been corrected. Also, the folded pantograph of the immobile ED16 has been made lower and more realistic.
Improved running stability and model quality, and other features have been added.
Improved running stability The game engine has been optimized, reducing the possibility of derailment. Unrealistic curves in existing layouts will be revised as appropriate.
Improved model quality The bogies for the WDP-1 and TB8000 have been updated and the couplers have been standardized. The coupler connection distance has also been optimized. The tongue rails on the turnouts have also been redesigned to be smoother.
Additional features A railway testing site has been added to serve as a development test track. (While this is a realistic oval course with a 300m radius, the game engine's characteristics mean that the car slows down significantly due to friction on the curves.) A mission to transport the immobile ED16 has been added to the mission to transport scrapped trains from Cham City.
Hello everyone,
Our title "Minna de Physical TRAIN – Chamland National Railway –" has been featured by several game media outlets.

"Physical TRAIN for Everyone - Chamland National Railway" - A simulator that pursues realistic railway physics set in a fictional mountain city-state, available in early access from December 3rd
The early access version of "Physical TRAIN: Chamland National Railway," a train simulator that pursues a realistic driving experience, will be released on Steam on December 3rd. Set in the fictional mountain city-state of the Republic of Chamland, this simulation game lets you enjoy "realistic driving" based on physics calculations.
A train simulation that combines a handcrafted feel with physics! "Physical TRAIN for Everyone - Chamland State Railway" gameplay report \
We sincerely appreciate the coverage from each media outlet.
Development and improvements will continue, and we hope you enjoy following the progress of the project.
Thank you for your support.
We've made some quick improvements.
Mission vehicle identification on the map In response to feedback that mission vehicles were difficult to find, we've now displayed the mission code next to them on the map.
Turntable Sound Improvements The operating sound now continues while the turntable is rotating.
Ore Car Rendering Improvements Due to the heavy weight of the car, the height of the bogie frame and coupler was unnatural, so these have been improved.
Thank you for waiting. Port Trena is now open! We've also been working on several feature improvements and bug fixes.
Port Trena Opening The line south of Gran Forge to Port Trena, the maritime gateway to the Republic of Chamland, has opened! Mission Alpha (prescribed missions) will be added sequentially, but please also try out Mission Beta (generated missions). B1: Bulk Unloading P1: Trena Passenger Station S1/S2: Ferry D1: Siding F1/F2: Wharf Freight F3/F4: Container Freight C1: Scrap Siding
Transporting ore to B1 is a long-distance, highly difficult mission from Swift Village! To accommodate this, we have deployed additional ore cars. Although they are short in length, they are extremely heavy, weighing 90 tons when loaded.
Install a Turntable You can place a vehicle on it and rotate it. It's used to change direction, but it's essential for the Junk Car Transfer Mission. Clicking on the red circle will rotate the side of the turntable with the "red mark" in that direction.
Feature Improvements
The HUD now has three settings, including a completely hidden mode. The setting changes with each click of the button.
The rescue crane now plays an operating sound while in operation.
The scenery has been improved in some existing areas.
Bug Fixes We've fixed audio issues and an issue that caused erratic behavior when completing a mission near the Cham passengers.
We plan to continue updating the game with the official release scheduled for July 2026. Thank you for your continued support.
This is the current construction status. It will be completed soon! Full view
We've recreated the ferry!
The container terminal.
We are currently working on developing Port Trena. (Screenshot is of B1 ore unloading area)
We've optimized the sound of trains running. (The Port of Trena is still under construction.)
Adjusted the balance of rail joint sounds Previously, the audible range of the joint sounds was too wide, making them sound like a loud noise. Therefore, we've adjusted the balance between distance and volume to make the sound more realistic.
The latest trial version has also been released.
We'll continue to update the game, so please let us know in the comments if you have any questions. Thank you!
We're adding decorations for the New Year. We're also currently constructing a line to Port Trena.
Adding New Year's Decorations To welcome the new year, we've added Shimekazari decorations for vehicle decorations and Kadomatsu decorations for the world to the shop.
Progress of various expansions including expansion of the area around Grand Forge, adding gradient signs along the gradient between Cham City and Grand Forge, and experimental placement of passenger avatars on Cham City platforms.
To simulate reality, braking force is reduced at high speeds, but the degree of reduction was too great, so we adjusted it. This should allow you to slow down even on downhill gradients (except 70‰).
We've added a physics calculation load reduction and an auto-generated mission feature.
Reduced Physics Calculation Load Previously, when approaching a curve with 30 or more freight cars, the increased physics calculation processing became a bottleneck, preventing the GPU from being fully utilized and resulting in a significant drop in FPS. We discovered that this was primarily due to the calculation of contact between the wheel flange and the rail, and we optimized the flange shape, significantly reducing the load. The graph below shows the result of accepting a 30-car mission and departing from Cham City. The orange area at the top shows the physics calculation processing (left: before improvements, right: after improvements).
Auto-generated Mission Feature and Simultaneous Mission Acceptance Previously, only pre-prepared missions were available, but we've now added a function to automatically generate missions. Specifically, you can now accept previous missions separately using the "Mission Alpha" button and new automatic missions using the "Mission Beta" button, allowing you to complete multiple missions simultaneously. Additionally, the respective mission buttons will display red while an active mission is being accepted.
Swift Village Development Farmland development is progressing in the rural Swift Village.
Regarding temporary disabling of the trial version Due to the significant discrepancy between the early access version and the trial version, we have temporarily disabled the trial version.
