After a year of updates, optimizations, and player feedback, Phoenix 2 is now fully available on PC.

Over the past year, we've improved graphics, audio, gameplay, and controls while expanding hardware compatibility to ensure Phoenix 2 takes full advantage of the PC platform. We've also delivered major content updates that we wanted to have ready for the full Steam release.

Following this release, we'll continue expanding Phoenix 2 with new gameplay content, just as we have for years, while also improving support for additional PC hardware configurations.

To celebrate the full release, we're also launching Update 8.2, which includes:

• Engram rewards have been adjusted. Opening Engrams now gives you a higher chance of receiving a new mod that you don't own yet.

• Improved tutorials for Aura and Counter abilities.

We're excited to welcome a new wave of pilots to Phoenix 2. With over 100 ships to unlock and customize, unique daily missions, competitive leaderboards, and seamless cross-platform progression across PC, iOS, and Android, there's never been a better time to join the fight. As always, we'll continue supporting Phoenix 2 with new content, features, and improvements in the years ahead.

Adjustments have been made to Engram rewards. Opening Engrams now gives you a higher chance of receiving a new mod that you don't own yet. This makes the process more rewarding and makes it much easier to complete your mod collection.

It is still possible to receive duplicates, of course. Because of these changes, you will probably see more mods for ships you don't play or haven't unlocked yet, partly because you own less mods for these.

Phoenix 2 will exit Early Access on the 2nd of June, 2026! After a year of updates and optimizations the PC version of Phoenix 2 is solid and ready for its full release. The recent 8.1 update and following hotfix brought the final changes we were planning for a full release. Content has been added, graphics are improved, sound was expanded and improved, an alternative control scheme was added for better controller gameplay and much more. Beyond the release we will continue adding gameplay content, as we have been for the past years and, specifically for PC, to expand compatibility for additional hardware configurations. Be sure to let us know if you encounter any issues!

We applied a small hotfix to 8.1 that fixes the crash that occurred when using the "Preview" option for ships that can be unlocked in the Warp Gate. Some other tweaks came along with it.

• Fixes crash when using Preview for locked ships in the Warp Gate.

• Adds new sound to Phalanx Bulwark impact.

• New laser reflect sound that sounds more like the original sound.

• Tweaks gain of Mega Bomb and Mega Laser related sounds.

• Improves Reflex EMP sound.

• Adds an indicator to mods in the shop to indicate whether you own a better mod, or if it would be an upgrade to an existing mod.

🔊 Turn up your volume for this update with lots of improvements and additions across the board. As we are working our way to a full PC release we have this big update with many improvements and fixes. The graphics look better on PC and the sound was also optimized.

• Goliath Missile High Capacity Apex increased to +2 counters.

• Vorpal Lance High Capacity Apex increased to +2 counters.

• Ion Cannon Overcharge Apex increased to 20%.

• Stun EMP Extended Range Apex increased to 30%.

• Removes Phalanx Narrowguard strength penalty.

• Point Defense Perimeter Protocol and Overflow Diverter can now be combined with EMP Laser and Bullet Detonator.

• Minigun Railgun Apex mod can now be combined with Twin Guns.

• Minigun Disruptor Hardpoint now fires missiles at a steady rate of fire.

• Clover ATS High Explosive deals more of its damage as blast damage.

• Barrier Super Reflect now deals 150% and 200% weapon damage.

• Phalanx Kinetic Bulwark damage is now based on its strength and ship impact speed.

• Personal Shield Energy Drain is now capped per shield activation.

• Improves targeting acquisition for Homing mods.

• Barrier EMP is now Legendary.

• Power Convertor mod, 20%, is now Rare.

• Various other mod tweaks and adjustments affecting power and gameplay.

Fixes

• Fixes Teleport Arrival EMP originating from the Core.

• Goliath Missile Twin Launcher now correctly splits projectile damage.

• Clover ATS Heavy Payload now correctly increases High Explosive damage.

• Fixed several ship weapons combined with Teleport and Void Skip.

• Fixes and improves visual effects for several abilities and mods.

This update features a few balance adjustments, as well as many fixes.

• Reduces Amplifier mod damage to +10%, +20% and +30% to bring them in line with others.

• Mega Bomb Fusion Core size now scales along with Mega Bomb mods that affect its radius.

• Reduces Mega Bomb Condensed mod damage to +20 to match its rarity. The Apex is unaffected.

• Increases Mega Bomb Super Condensed base size to 80.

• Reduces Barrier Super Reflect damage bonus to 200% and 300%, to better match their rarity and ease of use.

• Removes Goliath Missile twin mod radius penalty.

• Clover ATS base charge time reduced to original values.

• Clover ATS Half Clover deals increased Blast Damage with the appropriate mods.

• Fixes Vorpal Lance mods that alter its Damage Type.

• Fixes Phalanx use after teleporting.

• Added and improved various visual effects.

• Several other bug fixes and improvements.

Welcome to our largest update ever! This update introduces ship mods. Mods enhance a specific part of your ship or ability. They are like ultimate upgrades, but you get to choose which ones to use! There are many mods to be found and collected, and more will be added in the future.

Existing ultimate upgrades have been replaced by mods. These can be found in the mod inventory of your ships. Some of the base abilities or the related mods had their values tweaked:

• Advanced Targeting rolled into Clover ATS base ability. It used to be part of the Turret Seeker Ultimate.

• Clover ATS base damage increased from 72 to 80 with an additional +0.2s base charge time increase.

• Laser Storm Ultimate damage increase rolled into base ability.

• Blade Storm Ultimate damage increase rolled into base ability.

• Mega Bomb "EMP Core" Apex now affects the entire blast radius instead.

• Ion Cannon Blast damage is now applied to the same radius as the stun, instead of having 2 separate ranges.

• Ion Cannon Blast Amplifier damage decreased from 13 to 10 damage.

Update 8.0 is available since December 19, 2025. Since then we have released a couple of bug fix updates. A combined list of these fixes, available as of 8.0.4:

• Fixed occasional screen freezing on iOS.

• Fixed music being muted permanently after quickly multitasking on Android.

• Fixed Phase Conduit hitting a single target multiple times.

• Personal Shield Booster mods no longer stack with the Booster Apex.

• Reflex EMP Extended Range mods no longer stack with the Extended Range Apex.

• Improved mod descriptions.

• Trinity Teleport effects now correctly show their unique green color.

• Numerous other bug fixes and improvements.
