I have applied a patch which rectifies a number of crashes in game, hopefully it should result in a much smoother play experience..
Also applied a patch which would cause some of the stats page to show up incorrectly
See you guys in 2.1 which will be coming in the next few days!
Thanks!

2.0 - Pickups Patched!
Hey, how's it going guys?
So this update is more of a fix & upgrade rather than a new feature
People have informed me that pickups are confusing because there's no clear indication of which item goes into which slot and to be fair they were completely right but today is a step in the right direction to addressing this
Now when you try to pickup an item that uses a slot that is already in use, an X will appear on the item and the relevant slot it uses will begin to flash to indicate the slot it uses, then you can either unequip the item to pickup the item or leave it based on your own preference
New Upgrade:
Bat Meat Shops!
Similar to weapon and potion shops, bat meat shops sell you various types of meat to heal you, restore mana or restore stamina or maybe all of them!
Other Changes:
Random weapon shops added, rather than dagger only shops or greataxe shops, some shops will now sell you daggers, swords, greataxes
Random potion shops added, same as above
Lots of incorrect pickup bugs addressed, all keybinds should work right now
Shops now address you based on the kind of shop you have entered
Fixes:
Tuned up some of the hitboxes, this is a long process of fine tuning and will continue to be tuned
Pesky physics bug considered fixed! ːsquirtyayː
Thanks for the support guys, see you guys in 2.1 and as always please report your bugs and suggestions on the forum! ːgoldenː

1.9 - Character Selection!
How's it going guys!
So this is quite a small yet huge change because so far No Turning Back has used the concept of a random selection each time you play but people didn't seem to like the random option so i have decided to add a character select screen
You can also see the classes that you have not unlocked yet and it tells you how to unlock via tool tips
You can access the Character Selection by clicking on the button below the character portrait

Thanks guys, see you in 2.0, still got some digging new features coming *cough*! *cough*!

1.8 - Scriptures & Lost Skills!
Hope you guys had a great weekend and are enjoying the steam sales! ːgoldenː
So this is a cool update for you guys, it adds some new passives and skill upgrades which you have to unlock throughout the game and are permanent to certain skills & characters
So what are Lost Skills?
Lost Skills are ancient skills for your order and can be obtained from various locations from the castle and are permanent once you have unlocked them, i don't want to give them all away because discovering them is part of the fun but some are pretty powerful and can change how effective certain classes are for your playstyles
I'll give one away, you can obtain a Lost Skill that teaches you how to set your shield bash skill on fire and ignites all enemies in front of the player upon the use of shield bash
You can access your selection of Lost Skills from the character menu, it has replaced the randomize class option which has been moved underneath the player portrait
Layout:
http://phatphrogstudios.com/ls.png
Currently you can obtain rare ancient scriptures from chests and secret rooms in the game, there will be another way in 1.9 ;)
I will be adding more Lost Skills in future updates, just got to find them first. oh yes i went there! ːDː

So people with alternative keyboard layouts should be able to make the game feel a lot more comfortable
You can access the bindings page underneath the Enter game button
To change your key binding, click the binding you wish to change and then tap the key you want to change it too

1.6 - Chapters Of Permanent Change!
How are you all doing!
Sorry this one is a little late guys but it took a lot of work to get it all running correctly and doing a first pass on balancing for it
This is a huge change and will require a lot more balancing before it's perfect, i will need your feedback and suggestions on this one guys :)
Major Feature Added:
Chapters Of Permanent Change:
http://www.phatphrogstudios.com/Perm.png
These chapters are special rare books that can permanently change the stats of all the characters of your order, now these stat changes are not weapon or playthrough specific and will be with your character until you hit the new "RESET" button on the main menu,
Each book has a positive and a detriment, it's all about how you want to build your playstyle, if you want to go be a glass cannon, you could go for more damage boost at the loss of max health, or maybe you want to tank and do less damage, again these are all viable options
How to earn Chapters:
Puzzle rooms on floor 1+ will reward a chapter upon completion and you can also obtain them uncommonly from relic rooms on Floor 2+
There are currently 15 Chapters and they stack so you can find more of the same ones, now it is possible to ruin your character so be careful and remember if you do make some bad decisions and you're unhappy with your build, just hit the new "RESET" button on the ESC main menu in game
Coming Soon: (Key Mapping) This is what i am working on for 1.7, it's something i have been meaning to add since early access launch
In update 1.7 there will also be some more chapter variants
Other Changes:
Massively reduced physics simulation overheads, should help reduce the crashing from collision interactions
Physics objects optimization
Thanks guys, see you in 1.7! ːsquirtyayː

1.4 - Potions O' Plenty!
Steam Group -> http://steamcommunity.com/games/NoTurningBack
How are you all doing!
It's time for update 1.4, sorry it's late guys, this was supposed to be released on Friday but full day of work on Saturday so i had to postpone it!
Features Added:
Buff Potions!
I have added 4 new types of potions that aid you greatly if you manage to get your hands on them and of course they are procedually generated
Potion Types:
Potion of Atk Speed
Potion of Atk Power
Potion of Run Speed
Potion of Protection
When you pickup one of these potions, it can last between 1 - 5 room transitions and it's pure luck as to the chance of this
They are dropped by Chaos Skeletons and Wraiths, which brings me onto a new enemy that has been added to Floor 1, the wraiths are a tough enemy for all melee fighters because they do not get knocked back by normal attacks so be careful
These items can also be found in locked unique rooms
New Bat Meat Variants Added!
Now you can find raw bat meat that can heal your HP & ST or HP & MP or if you're lucky to get a prime bat steak it will heal all HP, MP & ST for a procedural amount
Other Changes:
Fixed a bug that caused items dropped in the home base to instantly dissapear
Physics objects optimization

Thanks for everyone who has purchased the game and it supporting the development of No Turning Back,
I have applied some fixes based on feedback from the community
Fixes:
I have readjusted the collision boxes for objects that can be collided with and it should be a lot smoother experience now
Cultists can no longer walk through chairs
Player now has feedback when he gets hit, a red flash shows you were hit followed by some audio feedback
Chairs can be destroyed, shoot them with an arrow or whack them with your melee weapon and it will turn them over and they will disappear after 5 seconds
Starter classes all have a small bio written about them
Doors have had their collision changed, you can now pickup items around the doors without entering them after a battle
You can now exit to Main Menu from the in-game Menu when you press Escape
EDIT:
You should no longer walk into shops if you have less than $300
Thanks guys
More coming soon!

NO TURNING BACK
EARLY ACCESS!
I can't believe the day is actually here!
The game that i started out developing as a hobby whilst learning how to program in GML last year is about to enter Early Access on Steam! I want to say thank you to groupees.com, without them this game would not be where it is now. They approached me last year when the game was in its early stages, literally 2 months into development! and asked me to be a part of their bundle, they saw the potential of No Turning Back and i want to thank them and the people that purchashed the bundle and helped get us to the stage we are at now
No Turning Back is entering Early Access today and i wanted to let you guys know about what you can expect and what's available at the moment and of course what's coming soon?
So what is No Turning Back?
No Turning Back is an indie developed game that combines rogue-like elements and base development, it's a hybrid between perma-death and perma-unlocks and is a game that is procedually generated in many ways, the weapons, armour, unlocks, upgrades are all procedually generated each time you play the game, including the name and stats, you unlock new classes and base upgrades from the perma-death portion of the game, you play as the hero of a small order that is developing by entering a cursed ruin of a castle and bringing back the spoils and rewards to the headquarters, you can only carry what you have on you and when you leave a room there's No Turning Back and no second guessing!
Well to start let's take a look at what's available:
Classes:
No Turning Back has a lot of classes available even now, you start with 10 classes that are randomly selected and there are over 15 more classes to unlock and a lot more coming soon
Let's take a look at some of the classes available when you start:
The Infernal Conjurer: combines ranged fire damage with empowering melee attacks with rage
The Destiny Seer: combines ranged fire damage with speed to avoid attacks and get the advantage over the enemy
The Ranger Of The Order: Shoots fire arrows and uses speed to keep the distance from the enemy
There are tons more combinations of classes and there are ways to upgrade your skills using powerful chaos crystals which boost skills permanently
Recruitment:
As you play No Turning Back you will meet people who need your help and if you save them, you will get them as recruits for the order. These recruits can be Blacksmiths, Trainers, Apothecary's, Proprieters, to talk to recruits you have to get near to them and press V
Currently No Turning Back has 4 recruit types:
The Blacksmith
"All in a days work"
The Blacksmith allows you to upgrade your weapons by using his forge, as you play the game you will find satchels of useful items that you can take back to your headquarters (key: H) and if your blacksmith is trained enough he can turn them into weapon upgrade items such as new blades, handles, quivers, sheath's, bow limbs, bow strings and these will boost your combat ability
Handles & Bow Limbs = Attack Speed
Blades & Bow Strings = Attack Damage
Quivers & Sheath's = Run Speed
The Soul Trainer
"If there's an obstacle, go through it"
The Soul Trainer provides you with permanent global class upgrades, so the main skill that The Soul Trainer helps you obtain is a skill called "Soul Recall" which pulls objects towards you when you press tab, this can be upgraded to allow "Residual Suction" and this passively pulls gold and xp towards the character
The Apothecary
"All's fair in love and war."
The Apothecary is the class based version of The Soul Trainer, she can empower your skills & spells to make them have even more variation, she is in the early stages at the moment but the framework is in place. She can currently let you change the Fireball Projectile into poison, plasma and ice, unlike The Soul Trainer she requires special relics and materials to unlock the variations, once these skills are unlocked it is permanent.
She will soon require Chaos Crystals as well as the special relics and runes as a regent in the upgrades, when you find an item that The Apothecary uses it will require going back to The Apothecary using (key: H) and selecting the skill, it's worth doing whenever you find a new regent
The Apothecary allows you to also permanently buff certain skills like allowing the Charge skill to have double the distance permanently
The Proprieter:
"A bad excuse is better than none."
The Proprieter allows you to gamble!!!! plain and simple, The Proprieter will let you race captive skeletons for $250 and if you win, you will double your money
Enemies:
No Turning Back currently has 4 enemy types with a lot more coming soon and thay are split into special variations, when you kill an enemy it will explode into gold and xp. If you have Soul Recall you can use it to collect all the XP and gold after a battle but if not simply running over the XP and gold will pick it up
Cultists:

If you have Soul Recall you can use it to collect all the XP and gold after a battle but if not simply running over the XP and gold will pick it up
Cultists:
The signature enemy of No Turning Back, cursed and corrupt the cultists will stop at nothing to remove the player from their castle
