Heyo!
With Walk of Life officially out of Early Access and into full release, it felt like the right time to mention something we sort of ninja released a while ago: the No Time to Relax Adventures bundle, including both No Time to Relax and Walk of Life! Sorry, we sort of forgot to tell you about it.
If you don't own either of the games, this is the perfect opportunity to get both of them at a bargain. If you already own No Time to Relax, this will allow you to get Walk of Life at an additional discount! What a steal!
Another big update, what could it hold?
This is what we are calling the "Spring Cleaning" update and while this project has a lot of changes, you are unlikely to notice most of them. What it entails is us getting the project running on the newest versions of Unity.
Development of No Time to Relax began in 2017, with what was then the newest version of Unity. It's been almost 10 years since and the project has been stuck on some older versions for quite some time now. Unwilling to let the project rot and possibly slowly become unplayable on modern systems we undertook a Herculean effort and spent the last weeks removing parts and plugins that are no longer supported in the newest version of Unity. While this update doesn't directly add any big new features it does open up the possibility of adding new ones in the future. We can now write a single system and hopefully deploy it across multiple games (such as a Save Game feature).
Our focus these days is on our new game Walk of Life, but we are unwilling to not support our previous games and the community that loves them.
Changelog
Clicking the code in online-lobbies now copies that code to your system clipboard.
Added 35 new weekend cards.
Updated Unity project to the newest version.
Game is now a native 64-bit application on 64 bit operating systems.
Fixed some bugs connected to interactions between the game and Steam.
Fixed a bug where the game could stall after not being able to find a weekend card to show to players. We now show a fallback card if this happens.
Fixed some bugs connected to removal of Players in online games after they had disconnected.
Fixed a potential bug when players with no job performed some specific interactions in online games.
Optimized how we send info between players in online games.
Updated our Animation Software plugins to the newest version and updated all animations in game to match that (this took a while...).
All fonts were refreshed and should be displayed more correctly and at a higher resolution than before.
Fixed a bunch of bugs connected to players rejoining and leaving games.
This was originally supposed to be a part of a bigger update that we have been planning but as the other half of our No Time to Relax development team fell out of a tree and broke his programming hand we felt it would be best to get this out ASAP.
What this update has is Regions in online play! You can choose from Asia Pacific, Europe, North-America and South-America. We really hope that this will fix disconnection issues that users have been running into recently.
We have a few other small features and optimization things we will be adding in the near future but at least we've got this feature out the door.
Let us know over on our Discord if you run into any problems with this!
Best Regards
The Porcelain Piglets
