Nippets: A Hidden Object Game news & patch notes

It’s been just over a month since we launched Nippets, and what a wild journey it’s been.

We’re so incredibly proud of the fact that Nippets is now sitting at 91% positive reviews on Steam, with your generous comments, calling it “cozy,” “beautiful,” “clever,” and “impossibly charming.” An enormous thank you to everyone who’s explored our tiny hidden-object world so far!

And to celebrate, Nippets is currently 20% off on Steam for a limited time. We have also just launched the deluxe edition which includes the base game, the original lo-fi soundtrack created by our in-house music dream team, Major Tom, plus a bundle of exclusive illustrated, seasonal wallpapers.

And coming soon: Susan’s Dream - Nippets’ first new free update. Follow Susan through a strange dream where the world of Nippets slowly transforms into an increasingly surreal cat-finding adventure. The deeper you go, the stranger things become, with cats appearing in more ridiculous and impossible places as reality completely unravels.

Featuring 50+ cats to discover, some are hidden, some are obvious, and some probably shouldn’t exist at all.

• Made "Tree Terrorizer" achievement less grueling to unlock.

• Fixed an issue in Winter where entering a gondola would send you to the infinite white abyss.

• Fixed some localized texts in Winter having Hangul where they shouldn't.

• Fixed some Japanese, Chinese, and Korean language characters not appearing correctly.
• Fixed minor bugs across objectives.

Can’t quite believe I’m typing this, but it’s true. Nippets has a release date on Steam. And what’s more, it’s REALLY SOON - April 7th!!

To celebrate, we’ve put together a new trailer, which should give you some idea of how much Nippets has grown since our viral Itch demo many moons ago:

The journey from the original 100k+ downloaded itch demo to a full-blown title has been a long one, but it’s also been a lot of fun. It’s grown so much as a game, but I’m proud to say we’ve managed to keep all of the whimsy & charm of the original.

We went into this year’s Steam Next Fest with a lot of nerves. Over seven thousand demos for so many excellent games. How’s a little indie puzzler supposed to stand out?

Happily, it looks like we managed to connect with some lovely players out there on the big wide web, because this week has seen some of our best days for wishlists - culminating today with us hitting 10,000 total!

What an exciting week! We’re officially part of Steam Next Fest, alongside thousands of amazing games, in one of the biggest gaming events of the year.

To celebrate, we’ve updated the demo with some lovely new additions.

What's new in the demo?

1. Revisit Story Bits Anytime

You can now reread previous story moments so you won’t miss any hints or subtle details. Perfect for sharp-eyed detectives (or forgetful humans).

2. 9 Languages Supported!

Nippets is now localized in:

• Italian

• French

• German

• Spanish

• Brazilian Portuguese

• Simplified Chinese

• Korean

• Japanese

• English

We’re incredibly happy to welcome more players into the world of people-watching.

3. Mac Support!

Mac users around the world, rejoice!

You can now play Nippets on Mac and we are confirming Mac support at launch.

4. A New Cat in the Kitchen

Yes. There is a new cat. Go and pet it. NOW!

We’ve also fixed a nasty bug where the ball could get stuck in the tree. If that gave you trouble before, you should now be able to give it a good shake and complete the objective in peace.

We love Steam Next Fest. There are so many fantastic games to discover, and we can’t wait to explore them ourselves.

Hi everybody!

Chinese New Year is upon us, and so we wanted to do a little something to mark the occasion…

If you update the ‘Nippets’ demo now you’ll find some seasonal decorations on the street in the ‘Spring’ level. Here’s a sneak peak:

We’re really lucky to have so many players from around the world enjoying Nippets, so however (whenever) you celebrate the New Year, big cheers from us – let’s hope it’s a good one! Neigh!! 

Of course, the biggest thing 2026 will bring is the full launch of Nippets on PC. We’ll have some more news on that front coming soon, so be sure to wishlist and follow us on socials to keep up to date ;)

Hello everyone!

We’ve been hard at work in the game kitchen cooking up the full game version of our hidden object game Nippets. The original version blew up on Itch, with 100,000 downloads and a lot of people asking for more, so we’re going all out on the Steam version! We’ll have more news on that soon, so in the meantime we wanted to give you guys a little treat: a new demo!

This demo has all the shaking, clicking, dragging, petting, and general handcrafted interactive goodness from the itch demo, but with some more content and surprises – a little taste of things to come :) Please have fun and be sure to give us any thoughts and feedback you might have.

Right now, the demo is available in English and on PC. We’re already working on adding more languages, including Italian, French, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Korean, and we’re also putting effort into bringing Mac support as soon as we can.

Hello, we are making Nippets!

A hidden-object game inspired by the joy of people watching and telling small stories. A highly interactive Where’s Waldo?, where you explore lively scenes by clicking, dragging, shaking, and poking at the world.

The inhabitants of Nippets need help with small, everyday problems. Your job is to find the items they’re missing and bring them where they belong. Sometimes the solution is obvious; other times it requires a bit of lateral thinking. And if you ever feel stuck, just keep exploring - the world is packed with secrets waiting to be discovered.

We didn’t plan to make the full game.

Then we dropped a demo on itch.io. You played it. You commented. You were way too nice about it. So now we’re making the whole thing.
