Greetings from the shadows, Ninjas!

Your support since day one has been incredible, and the constructive feedback has been sharper than even the most finely-honed blade. This will be our last major update for NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound, and we can’t thank you enough for your support.
Many of you requested Steam community items to earn for NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound, and today we are excited to announce that the following have been added to the game:
10 Trading Cards - featuring Kenji, Kumori, Ryu, Gurthka, Obsidrae, Deikrag, Rhyvashi, Jagäzk, Jô and the mysterious Masked Agent
6 Rank badges - from D to S++
5 Emoticons - just to give a little flair
4 Profile Backgrounds - to give your presence a little hint of the shadows
4 animated Avatar Frames - to sharpen up your profile pictures
4 animated Avatars - Just in case you wanted to look a little more Ninja
2 animated Profile Backgrounds - should you feel that the static ones weren’t quite dynamic enough
And more!
Our new Steam community items are here as our way of saying thank you. It’s been an honor to see so many Ninja here and on social platforms, providing sharp constructive feedback.
Our D3 update delivers a substantial list of bug fixes, based around the issues affecting your journey through NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound - helping your combat to flow and that the demons are the only challenges you have to face.
We’ve got a list of 25 larger software demons that the team have defeated in the D3 Major Update patch:
Using the Spider Stopwatch Ragebound Art while hanging on the long zipline in Level 3-2 will no longer cause a soft-lock
Kenji will now jump properly on the train in Level 4-6
Killing a boss while rapidly pressing attack (playing as Kumori) will no longer cause a soft-lock during Boss Rush
Dyslexia-assist font has been fixed to ensure it doesn’t overlap and cut off inappropriately
Kenji can no longer move out of bounds before being crushed by tentacles in Level 3-3
Kenji can now no longer move behind (and become immune to) the bulldozer in Level 3-5
Closing and re-opening Muramasa’s shop after obtaining an item will no longer cause a soft-lock
The “Win the Duel” challenge in Level 1-1 will now complete appropriately (including unlocking of Hard Mode)
Jagäzk’s ribcage will now show appropriate visual damage when hit by hypercharged Kunai (sorry, Jagäzk)
Kenji will no longer show falling animations when trying to climb a breakable wall
Knockback now works appropriately according to Accessibility settings
Collectibles will no longer appear transparent when they haven't been collected.
Deflecting Soldier will now deflect projectiles appropriately
Rising containers will now play appropriate sounds at the beginning of the stage on Level 4-3 (on hard mode)
Fixed Kenji’s sweat appearing on top of his mask if dialogue was skipped quickly in the Dojo animation cutscene
Cursor will disappear appropriately during gameplay
Smoke effect for hanging dummies will now re-appear to correctly mask respawn.
The Level 3-2 (Hard) black background issue has been fixed - now showing the appropriate background art.
The Eye Fly to enable jump via Guillotine will now spawn correctly on Level 3-5
We have resolved an issue where Kunai thrown while offscreen would not appear, but still cost Ki.
Holding up or down in the Main Mission screen will no longer cause controls to stop responding
Kumori’s Dash and Jump attack has been implemented
The Spirit Detour Kumori/Kunai shortcut has been removed
We have fixed Kumori’s Black Spider Uniform animation error when hypercharging on a wall
Holding up or down while opening Muramasa’s Shop will not cause an application freeze

We hope you’ve been enjoying the challenge of NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound!
Since the release of our D1 major update, we’ve kept listening closely to your feedback and carefully tracking down the issues you’ve reported. Our goal remains the same: to ensure your journey through NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound feels as smooth, intense, and rewarding as it should be.
The D2 Update is focused on polish, bug fixing, and stability improvements, addressing a wide range of situations that could interrupt the flow of gameplay.
Fixed an issue where striking the boss at the edge of the arena on level 4-5 could push it out of the camera’s view.
Several challenge conditions (like “Kill boss with a Ragebound Art” in 3-2 or “Win the duel” in 1-1) now properly trigger and reward your performance.
Adjusted Rhyvashi’s encounters: improved stagger cooldown and prevented attacks from lingering after defeat.
Corrected issues where skipping certain boss cutscenes (e.g., 4-5 helicopter pad) could result in Kenji being unfairly hit.
Fixed multiple soft-locks and freeze scenarios when pausing or restarting from a checkpoint.
Checkpoints now consistently heal Kenji across all levels, and properly respect equipped talismans.
Restarting from the last checkpoint during boss fights no longer leaves the health bar stuck on screen.
Various collision issues were resolved (Kenji or Kumori getting stuck, clipping through bulldozers, cranes, or going out of bounds in 3-5, 2-2, S-5 and others).
Environmental hazards (lava, fire, etc.) now correctly respect accessibility knockback settings. Several background and asset display issues corrected (floating containers in S-8, mountain edges in S-3, camera transitions in 3-5).
Music and dialogue triggers are fixed in multiple levels to align correctly with progression.
Adjusted “Last Stance” to only affect melee slashes and guillotine boosts.
Fixed incorrect stacking effects between “No Rest for the Wicked” and “Unworthy”.
Accessibility settings (damage, screen shake, knockback) now behave consistently across all situations.
Corrected erratic behavior in enemies like Bio Harpies, Flying Turrets, and Bio Blockers.
Fixed Kumori-specific issues (Guillotine charge talisman wrongly affecting Kenji, roll/jump behaviors).
Improved visual consistency for certain attacks and death animations (Cyclops Demon’s eye, Rhyvashi waves, etc.).
Application now detects Windows language settings on first launch instead of defaulting to English.
Additional improvements to performance and stability across the game.
We’re grateful for the detailed reports and feedback you’ve been sharing with us.
Every fix we implement brings us closer to delivering the sharpest possible NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound experience. Please continue letting us know if you encounter issues, your insights help us track and refine every detail!
Stay sharp, ninjas!

NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound has been out for a few weeks now, and we're absolutely thrilled with your response — thank you to everyone who’s been playing!
Since launch, the team has been actively working on providing you with this major update, bringing new features, improvements, and a host of bug fixes!
Restart from Checkpoint option added.
In addition to restarting the entire level, you may now restart from the last checkpoint you found. This will let you quickly retry a level section or boss without the need of getting yourself killed.
Hard Mode can now be unlocked by winning the duel against Ryu.
In addition to the Hard Mode being unlocked by finishing the game for the first time, you may unlock it earlier by winning the duel against Ryu on level 1-1. If you want to leap right away to Hard Mode, you will first have to prove yourself worthy of the challenge!
New dialogues have been added at the beginning of levels S-4, S-5 and S-6.
A new alternative dialogue portrait for the Masked Agent on level 4-4 has been added.
Hit stop and Screen shake can be now disabled through Accessibility settings.
Golden Skins are now available immediately upon achieving S rank on all levels, without the need to complete the final level afterwards.
Added many sound effects on enemies, projectiles and menus.
Adjusted required kills to achieve the highest score on level 3-2 on Hard Mode.
Kenji could climb a wall and leave the camera's field of view towards the end of level 3-5.
Large obstacle meant to be destroyed by Hypercharge was vulnerable to Kama Spider Weapon on stage 3-1.
Luring a Cursed Fire enemy towards the collapsing platform allowed Kenji to get stuck in level 3-4.
During Rhyvashi's boss fight, the big rock could block your attacks right after disappearing during a brief period of time.
In level 4-5 on Hard Mode, Kenji could be hit when skipping the cutscene in which he jumps onto a helicopter.
Motorbike could flip after jumping against a wall on stage 2-2.
In level 4-1, Kenji could roll through some steel containers which made him out of bounds.
Kenji could be killed by skipping the cutscene right after defeating Jagäzk on level 4-6.
Added support for DirectInput controllers.
If Kumori were to perform a roll attack whilst wearing the Black Spider Uniform, the default skin would be displayed during the animation.
Removed invisible ceiling on level S-6 on Hard Mode, near the end of the tree section.
Bio Grunts frequently remained locked in their attack animation for a brief time if Kenji was positioned close to their spawn point.
On level 5-1 you could lose control of Kenji or Kumori when starting Rhyvahsi’s fight.
On level 5-1, a long wait time was present after defeating Rhyvashi.
Kenji could climb over a wall and skip part of the level, causing camera issues on level 3-5 on Hard Mode.
The kill streak counter disappeared every time the game was paused or cutscene took place.
On level 3-2 on Hard Mode, a Hanging Demon enemy could end up frozen and unable to attack.
Level 4-4 boss shockwave projectiles could appear in the air rather than on a surface.
Striking Level 4-4 boss in the back with a Hypercharge attack pushed it to the other edge, making it behave incorrectly.
During the elevator section on level 4-4, drone enemies could attack Kenji while being outside the camera.
Bio Blocker's enemy projectile hitbox remained active after being killed.
On level 3-2, during the Eels boss fight, the camera could be unlocked if Kenji reached a low point of the arena.
Gurthka’s landing animation could not work properly when the boss fight started on levels 1-2 and 1-3.
Jagäzk’s ribcage was immune to the Grenade Spider Weapon.
On level 4-2, you could leave the camera bounds by using guillotine boosts on a helicopter.
Kumori’s Hypercharged roll-jump kunai projectile could traverse an enemy without hitting it.
On level S-8, a guillotine boost platforming section could be skipped by climbing a wall and moving through the ceiling.
On level 2-2 the player could lose control of the motorbike when reaching the outdoor area.
While playing as Kumori during a Demon Altar section, Kumori wouldn’t be able to manually hypercharge if Kenji’s health was too low.
Cyclops Demon's eye disappeared instantly rather than using a proper animation if the enemy was killed and the eye was away from their body.
Kenji could clip through the subway tunnel's ceiling during his epilogue.
Backtracking during Kenji's epilogue could cause inconsistent camera transitions.
Exiting the credits from the main menu caused the music to reset and make the portraits not move properly.
Many other performance improvements and bug fixes.
