Hello everyone, I know people have been waiting for this a while :) First of all the Mac/Linux/SteamOS version of Nation Red is being released. And thank you for being patient until now. It's time to announce my new game called Versus. Check it out: versusgame.net The game is on track for a July release on Steam, and the Steam storepage will go live this week. To receive updates, you can join the Nation Red community or check the above website. Also, in the meantime if you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Hello everyone, For those who didn't read the forum and missed what the latest 2 updates were about, here is the update info for version 1.00.1003 (visible on the loading screen at the bottom left) • Added new barricade map: The Field • Added 15 new achievements: Vaporized, Messy, Immolation, Planting Seeds, Fire Fighter, Extinguisher, Team Trainer, Team Recruit, Team Soldier, Team Elite, Team Red, Boss Eraser, Boss Eliminator, Boss Eradicator and Boss Obliterator • Added map previews and navigation. You can scroll through and start any maps simply by clicking on the map preview images • Added powerup/pickup highlight glow. This makes it much easier to see where they are located • Added transparency for overhanging parts of the map. Lamps, beams, parts of a bridge, etc. will no longer obstruct your view • Increased detail of the player class models • Added a default Auto Perk list (containing 10 perks) for new players who enable Auto Perk Mode before adding any perks to their list • Increased camera height for better overview of the arena • Improved readability of the perk selection popup • Added saving scores on client when host disconnects • Reduced the time the 'Level Up' popup displays, some players thought it was visible for too long

Hello everyone, Well after being flooded with requests to add Nation Red Steam trading cards (thanks for the pms, emails as well!), I have created a set of cards, wallpapers, badges, and emoticons, which yesterday I sent to Valve for approval. After making some small changes they have set the cards live on Steam a few hours ago :) There are 7 cards, 6 badges (1 foil), 5 wallpapers and 5 emoticons. Hope you enjoy them!

I forgot to post the update notes: This was a quick update to add: The online games/lobby browser now shows how long a game has been playing (in minutes) or at which wave the game is (for barricade games) This makes it easier to decide which games to join. You can now minimize/alt-tab the game away during on-line coop games (to check something outside Steam, take a Skype call, etc.) The host will allow you to stay connected during this time as long as you don't leave for more than a few minutes at a time. Local coop: each player now has a differently colored player indicator circle. (Make sure you enable 'Show Player Indicator' in the game options) By the way, in case the update version number is confusing: The next version will be 1.00.1001, then 1.00.1002, etc.

Since in a month or so we'll be at that time of year for games such as Nation Red, you can look forward to another special update around the end of October! 1.89 changelog: - Local Coop: Added 3 and 4 player local coop support - On-Line Coop: Players in game will get a chat message if a new player enters the lobby - On-Line Coop: Team-wide perks are removed from the perk list once one of the players has already chosen them - On-Line Coop: Chat message history added. Press PageUp/Down or Arrow keys Up/Down to scroll through your chat history - Leaderboards are easier to navigate from the Statistics Menu. They are now grouped per game mode. Clicking on the flashing arrow cycles between single player, local coop and on-line coop boards. - Number of zombies in arena is now increased if difficulty setting is higher than default/normal. So if you don't play betas, you won't have more than about 48 hours to wait to get version 1.87 as a normal update trough Steam. Important: If you want to play the Beta in coop, you'll need to make sure the people you play with are also running this Beta. You can't mix 1.86 and 1.87. Of course in single player this doesn't matter. The Steam command line to play the Beta: -beta nationred0622 Updates/new features: First beta of a new gamemode called King Of The Hill (see previous post below for more detail) New updated Sentry gun. The default gun now does a lot more damage. Sentrygun cooldown is also faster so you don't need to wait too long before they're operational again Bosses health and kill bonus reworked: Some bosses (Butcher, Axe, Cutoff saw) won't get more armor as the game progresses and remain relatively easy to kill. Minigun and AK-47 bosses will attack more intelligently later on in games. Bonus for killing a minigun or AK47 boss is doubled from 25,000 to 50,000 Xp. Bonus for killing a Zombie Bomber is doubled from 2500 to 5000 Xp In on-line coop shared xp mode, other players' perk selection messages stay on-screen longer Added an option for setting the amount of ground blood splats Text chat now also possible while pausing the game Lobby owner now has the ability to kick players from lobby Ghost powerup frequency increased. A quick heads-up that the update is already done, it should have gone out last week but there was one more thing we needed to do (you'll understand soon what that was) which delayed the update until Monday 20th of June. Also wanted to give some concrete information on the new gamemode King of the Hill so that players know what it is and how it works: King of the King is a new versus-type game mode where you play against 1,2 or 3 other players for the King of the Hill title. Each player spawns from a corner of the map and the first player to reach the center 'bunker' of the map will become the King. Each time you level up while being King gives you one point. Collect 10 points to win the game. If you die or leave the center 'bunker', you will stop being the King and the first player to (re)enter the bunker will take over the title. If other players are already inside the bunker area when the King dies, the player who has been there the longest will take over the title. All players can see from the HUD who's currently the King, and also how many points all players currently have. Throughout the game, you will automatically respawn in your map corner five seconds after you die. You will always keep all points collected while King but you'll need to become King again to start collecting more points. In short: Only the King gets points for leveling up. (Of course all players can still select perks as usual when they level up). In this mode, Friendly Fire cannot be set to Off. Only 'low' or 'high' is allowed. This is so that other players can try to help the zombies along to kill the current King to make him respawn in his corner and lose the title. A new dedicated leaderboard will be available for this mode, and of course any ideas you have to make this mode better, please let me know here on on the forum!

All players can see from the HUD who's currently the King, and also how many points all players currently have. Throughout the game, you will automatically respawn in your map corner five seconds after you die. You will always keep all points collected while King but you'll need to become King again to start collecting more points. In short: Only the King gets points for leveling up. (Of course all players can still select perks as usual when they level up). In this mode, Friendly Fire cannot be set to Off. Only 'low' or 'high' is allowed. This is so that other players can try to help the zombies along to kill the current King to make him respawn in his corner and lose the title. A new dedicated leaderboard will be available for this mode, and of course any ideas you have to make this mode better, please let me know here on on the forum!
