The next update arrives in a few days. The main menu has been rebuilt completely from scratch, already adapted for this new update. Here's a preview of the main systems coming in the next update: map selection, vehicle selection, Steam Workshop, and the Mod Creator.
MULTIPLE PROFILES
You can now create multiple player profiles, each with its own name and save. During creation, players can choose from the game's default avatars or create their own custom avatar. Each profile keeps its own progress — including vehicle and map — so you can have completely separate saves, playing different maps or different vehicles in each one.
MAP SELECTION
New map selection menu — My Sleeper will support multiple maps, each one able to bring its own gameplay style, with different mechanics and activities within the game. Modders will be able to create and publish their own maps using the Mod Creator (and upload them to the Workshop with one click). Once the Brazil map is finished, other official maps may also be added to the game — like a map inspired by Japanese JDM culture.
VEHICLE SELECTION
New vehicle selection menu. Right now there's only one vehicle available (Valente SL 1977), inspired by a Brazilian car, but more are expected to arrive in future updates — both official additions and community-made mods.
STEAM WORKSHOP
My Sleeper will support Steam Workshop. Once you subscribe to a mod, it becomes available directly in the game, with no need to move files manually. Using the Workshop isn't required — the game still supports mods downloaded from external sources, such as Nexus Mods, loaded locally from the Documents/My Sleeper/Mods folder.
MOD CREATOR
Coming soon, the Mod Creator will be available for anyone who wants to create content for the game. It's a separate Unity 6 project with its own documentation and the game's API docs, built to make mod creation as easy as possible. Casual players — even without programming experience — will be able to put together vanilla mods, like items, vehicles, maps, NPCs, and other elements already in the game. All it takes is installing Unity 6 and spending a few hours learning the basics of the tool to publish your own mod on the Workshop. More advanced modders will be able to go further, creating mods with C# scripts, with full creative freedom to build whatever they want.
Thanks to everyone following the development of My Sleeper :)
