Just a quick change to make it so that you don't need to use the alternative launch option on Steam in order to fix the green screen issue. It is now fixed for any launch option chosen. Thanks all, Stevie 只是一个小改动,现在你不需要在 Steam 中使用备用启动选项也能修复绿幕问题了。
现在无论选择哪种启动方式,这个问题都已经修复。
感谢各位支持, Stevie
Hello everyone!
Another update for everyone, adding some things the community has been asking for.
Minimal UI: Added the option that appears in the settings that disables some of the visual effects, such as visually collecting the bugs, and drawing the progress bars when the spider is wrapping bugs. This is intended to make the game less distracting for people who want to focus on the game a little less.
Screensaver Mode: This disables all gameplay elements. Bugs will still get caught in the web, and the spider will still chill and do his own thing, but they do not get added to the bug box nor do they provide currency or contribute to achievements etc. This is mainly for people who have completed the game, and still want to have the spider to keep them company.
Expanded Settings tab: Separated the settings page to different tabs to accommodate the above.
5 New Steam Achievements: These focus on having a certain amount and type of bugs in the bug box at once and are intended to be actively chased rather than obtaining automatically when progressing in the game.
Support for 8 spider legs: Dependent on the spider chosen. Currently active for the spider in the gif below. (8 legged spiders are completely optional for people who find them creepy. It definitely removes some of the cuteness.)
Is your background green?
Some users are experiencing a green background in the game, where there is an error in the transparency layer.
This can be fixed by the user using by disabling Fullscreen Optimizations in Windows for the game.
Right click game name on Steam > Properties > Installed Files > Browse > Right click MyLittleSpider.exe > Properties > Compatibility > Disable fullscreen optimizations > Apply > Launch game.
We are looking into a way to have this option done automatically by the game.
-edit-
We made an easier way to fix this easier.
Simply select the alternate launch option when launching the game on the Steam Client, like in the screen shot below.
Hey all, another patch!
First of all we added the wallpaper used in the trailer to your game files if you wanted to use it. It's in your install folder and creatively named: "Official My Little Spider Wallpaper.png".
Here it is if you wanted to download it separately:
Furthermore, there are some more changes, these are related to the "JSON PARSE ERROR" issue that was causing saves to be corrupted and usable in some circumstances:
Fix for a million bugs spawning if your pc went to sleep. (I know this was fun for some people but we have a sneaky suspicion that this may have been causing crashes on low end pc's.)
Removed the autosaving based on time. (It still autosaves but only when something changes and it needs to, you don't need to manually save.)
Made another technical change to hopefully stop the issue where saves would be corrupted if the users pc crashed or was force shut down while the game was running.
The UI doesn't auto-hide when the game is first launched, to prevent some new-player confusion.
All the best, Stevie & Evan
First of all, thanks so much for all your support. My Little Spider has 97% positive reviews on steam and we are so happy that you all enjoy the game. Our concurrent user count keeps going up every day, with a peak user count of 487.
That's 487 spiders living on a screen at one time, that's crazy to think about. (In a good way) We are working hard fixing the (surprisingly few) issues people are having with the game, and making notes for future updates according to your suggestions.
Speaking of updates, we just pushed another one:
Made the buttons that are locked when you first launch the game still appear, but are visually locked (darker and more desaturated).
Fixed an issue that caused the pumpkin flame sfx not adhere to user volume settings
Disabled the negative sfx when collecting coins when your wallet is fully upgraded and also full.
Added a new bug (insect)
I wonder if you can guess the bug before finding it. Hint - it's fluffy, chubby and really wants to be a bee.
Thanks again <3 -Stevie & Evan
Hey everyone! My Little Spider is out now and we are extremely excited to share it with everyone.
60 bugs to collect
Loads of spider hats and cosmetics to unlock
Quests including daily and hourly
Autumn event (catch the rare pumpkin beetle to unlock trinkets to decorate your web with)
Can't wait to hear what everyone thinks. Thanks for all your support.
Hello everyone! Evan here with an exciting announcement about My Little Spider! Stevie (9fingergames) and I (Fatal Fawn Games) are releasing the game on November 7th, in just a little over 2 weeks!! Watch the update trailer:
Here are a few fun bug facts about development (ok they aren't bug facts but still)!
🐛 This is my first game since Rebel Transmute :)
🐛 Stevie and I worked together on My Little Life and this is a fun, if more bit-sized exploration of that desktop sim / tamagotchi type game.
🐛 I'm really excited to see how everyone interacts with this spider we've cooked up, we'll probably keep adding hidden interactions that can be fun to discover!
🐛 I'm really proud of all the vibrant bugs I got to draw! (And Stevie did all the Spider hats and skins, which I also love!)
🐛 We have many ideas for ongoing support if the game does well enough, including seasonal bugs, skins, and decorations!
Please share all of our social media posts, make your own, spread the word, tell anyone who loves bugs, spiders, cute toys to tinker with, anyone with ADHD, and most importantly your parents! We can't wait for My Little Spider to be out there! -Evan and Stevie
Few quality of life updates today!
Added a setting to change which bugs fly across the screen
Added a setting to adjust what bugs the spider targets to wrap first
The spider now takes a short nap occasionally
Fixed a crash when scrolling to the back of the bugopedia
Fixed a crash when a shiny bug was collected from the bug box
Thanks everyone! Keep hitting us with bug reports, feedback, and suggestions! -Evan
Hello everyone! The first big step towards release is upon us, a full fledged demo and Steam Next Fest!! We're very excited to be in this event and to get people finally playing the game we've been working so hard on. And we'd love to hear thoughts and suggestions on what should be added before or even after launch (which will be sooner rather than later)!
What you can expect to do in the demo:
Catch 8 different bugs!
Travel between 2 locations.
Upgrade your spider and web.
Unlock Halloween themed trinkets!
Progress will carry over to the full game.
Thanks for checking out the game and for all the support so far! And have fun with the demo! -Evan (Fatal Fawn Games) & Stevie (9FingerGames)
