• Rooms now generate more logical item combinations.

• Reduced edge cases where items overlap or don’t really fit the space.

• Fixed duplicate or conflicting items (like extra monitors or mismatched furniture).

• Doors and windows are now taken into account, so items are less likely to block them

• Improved item sizes so things fit together better.

• Added limits to some items to avoid clutter.

Challenges

• Challenges now match the items you actually get.

• Fixed cases where challenges could feel impossible or unclear.

• Improved how items count toward completing challenges.

Other improvements

• Use other client and room as first room tutorial.

• Improved translations after updating the language.

• Fixed various bugs with missing or behaving incorrectly items.

• General improvements to stability and consistency.

I’ve put a lot of work into reducing frustrating or "random" situations.

Hi everyone,

I've been working on improving the challenge system and item generation over the past days.

The game uses a procedural system to create rooms and item combinations, which gives each level a different feel. Sometimes this can lead to unexpected or slightly unusual combinations, like items you wouldn't immediately expect in a certain home. That's partly intentional, as I like the idea that spaces can tell different stories and not everything follows strict stereotypes.

That said, I understand that some combinations and challenges can feel off or inconsistent. I've already made a number of improvements since launch, and I'm continuing to work on:

• Challenge consistency and completion

• Item generation so it better fits each room

• Placement logic and overall feel (including improvements for smaller items and zoom)

There's still more to improve here, and I'm actively working on it.

• Fixed an issue where unlocked items would not appear in sandbox mode until restarting the game. This was caused by a cleanup bug that only occurred in the standalone build. Which is why it slipped through earlier testing
• Fixed missing translations in the checklist, challenges, and room tooltips
• Fixed an issue where the daily challenge could be restarted, which could lead to strange item combinations
• Improved item generation: In some cases, items could generate incorrectly after playing for a longer time. Also rooms will now have a maximum of 1 fireplace.
• Daily challenge now resets at 00:00 based on your local time instead of UTC.

• Fixed two achievements not unlocking correctly
• Added missing translations
• Minor fixes and improvements

A small note about launch

The first hours after release were a bit rough. There was an issue where challenges stopped showing up after completing the second house.

That’s now fully fixed and everything should work as intended again!

I'm happy to finally share that Moving Day: Make It Home will release on March 27!

In the full game, you'll unpack boxes, decorate procedurally generated homes, and help new clients turn empty spaces into cozy places to live. Along the way you'll meet more clients, complete new decorating challenges, and even add cats and dogs to the homes you decorate to make them feel even more alive.
