Thanks to everyone for your feedback and bug reporting! We're working on getting builds with fixes out as quickly as possible, and have a small patch to push today.

Hotfix 1.0.1 Patch Notes

• Properly support multiple plugged in controllers. All plugged in controllers can now be used to control Quill. Rumble goes to the most recently used controller. This should dramatically improve the experience of players using a controller on Steam Deck, and players playing with virtual controllers.

• Fix for occasional crash when skipping combat.

What's Next

We've got more fixes and updates based on feedback which should be ready next week. These should include:

• Better Steam Deck options.

• Fixes to gameplay blockers.

Starting tomorrow, you'll also be able to select a Deluxe Bundle option, which includes the Original Soundtrack with a whopping 46 tracks from composer Jason Graves, including remastered music from Moss and Moss: Book II, never-before-released bonus tracks, and the iconic music from our trailers featuring vocals from the oh-so-talented Malukah.

We’re halfway through Steam Next Fest and it has been a very heartwarming and exciting moment for us! Over 10,000 demo sessions, oodles of wishlists, and surely one very tired mouse later, we just wanted to say thanks! ❤️ And if you've enjoyed our demo (or any demo during Next Fest), please leave a review! • Added a new haptic event when Quill is hit during the healing tutorial

• Improved jump readability during the climb to the Warden encounter

• Mouse cursor now properly highlights options in the pause menu

A quick note on controls in the demo:  One piece of feedback we've heard is that the demo doesn't do enough to teach players the controls. And that makes a lot of sense! The demo is a curated slice built from several different parts of the full adventure, and while we tried our best to provide guidance along the way, some mechanics don't get the same introduction they do in the full game. You can always open the pause menu to view the controls at any time, but we thought we'd share them here as well before you jump in:

Why We Are Making This Game

For a long time, we’ve wanted more people to have the chance to experience Quill’s story. Over the years, many players connected with Quill, were drawn to her world, and expressed a desire to experience the adventure for themselves, but for a number of various reasons were unable to play in VR. Bringing Moss: The Forgotten Relic to PC and consoles is our way of finally opening that door, and we are looking forward to welcoming all the new players about to embark on their own journey with Quill for the first time.

Small Team, Big Adventure

So much of the original experience was built around player perspective, physical presence, and the relationship between the Reader and Quill. Reimagining that for PC and consoles meant adapting everything — from controls, combat, and pacing to authoring entirely new camera systems that will guide players through gameplay while preserving the emotional moments at the heart of Quill’s adventure. Our goal with every change was to create an experience that feels at home on every platform.

Uniting Moss, Moss: Book II and Twilight Garden DLC into one adventure and adapting the experience for PC, handheld, and console took years of work from our team. All of that effort was so that Moss: The Forgotten Relic would still feel like Moss wherever it’s played.

Questions, Speculation, and VR

Another question we’ve seen come up a lot this week is whether bringing Moss to PC and consoles means Polyarc is “moving away” from VR. Expanding to include platforms beyond VR is both a way for us to share Quill’s story with more players and to help ensure we can keep making games for years to come.

VR is an important part of Polyarc’s story, and that hasn’t changed. It’s where Moss was born, it’s where many players first connected with Quill, and it remains a medium with great potential. Today,our focus is on making Moss: The Forgotten Relic the best experience it can be and giving this magical world a chance to reach more people than ever before.

What We’re Excited About Next

We’re so grateful to everyone who’s supported our tiny hero from the beginning. The reason Quill's story has the opportunity to reach new players is because this community believed in her first, and one of the most exciting parts of this release for us is knowing that longtime Moss players now get to introduce Quill to people who’ve never had the chance to meet her before.

Today, we’re so excited to announce Moss: The Forgotten Relic, a handcrafted fantasy adventure that brings together the beloved and critically acclaimed Moss, Moss: Book II, and Twilight Garden DLC into a singular, definitive adventure, beautifully enhanced and reimagined. You won't have to wait much longer, because Moss: The Forgotten Relic is launching this Summer!

This is something our team has been quietly working on for quite a while, and it feels really good to finally share this with you all.
