Re-Announcement because I accidentally deleted the old one. This post is mainly for the people who wishlisted my game prior to this change.
About eight years ago, I came up with the idea for my dream game. I couldn't afford a PC powerful enough to build it, so I kept learning game development on an old Intel i3 with integrated graphics that could barely run Unity and Visual Studio at the same time.
After 5 years of waiting, I finally got the PC I'd always wanted. I poured everything into the project. I wanted to create a suspense driven, non-linear, emotional walking simulator inspired by games like Firewatch, Gone Home, and The First Tree. For 10 months, I spent up to 15 hours a day working on it.
Then everything changed.
My right eye started hurting. Soon my left eye did too. Looking at a screen became incredibly painful. I spent months hoping it would improve, telling myself that maybe next week would be better. But the weeks became months, and eventually years.
My dream game has been sitting unfinished, carrying years of hopes and hard work. I'll be graduating from college soon, and my eyes are only healthy enough for me to manage everyday life. I need to start working and focus on supporting myself.
Last night, I finally accepted something I had been avoiding.
Instead of chasing the full vision I originally had, I'm going to finish what I can. The demo I made before is polished and playable. I'll add a proper ending so it feels like a complete, self-contained experience. I've already updated the Steam page and trailer to reflect what the game is today rather than what I hoped it would become.
My goal is to finish it within the next month and finally release it on Steam.
If you would like to read the original script, Feel free to DM me :)
I'd love to hear your thoughts after you've played this game once it's released.
I don't know what the future holds after releasing this game. Maybe it will take years. Maybe even a decade. But I still hope my eyes recover enough that one day I can come back and make the game I dream of.
