Hey hunters, How’s the hunting going? Have you managed to overcome the power of 10★ Gogmazios and earn yourself its unique nameplate to show your prowess yet?
Today, we’re here to say, hey, have you checked out Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection yet? In-case you haven’t heard of it, it’s our turn-based RPG series set in the World of Monster Hunter, where you hatch, raise and battle alongside monsters instead of hunting them as you explore vast locales and restore their habitats.
But wait, there’s more! What if we told you Stories 3 has a rather iconic contingent of monsters in it that made their debut in Wilds? Plus, the third locale that you’ll discover and explore even has a bit of a “Windward Plains” vibe to it that we think you’ll appreciate!
Arkveld’s on the prowl having moved beyond the Forbidden Lands!
Now, there’s a free demo you can check out too, and carry your save data over to the full game if you enjoy your time with it. Plus, you’ll get the Hope armour layered set in the full game for your Prince or Princess by having Wilds save data.
But we’re not just here today to tell you about these cool things for Wilds hunters to enjoy, we’ll show you some too! Plus, we’ll do a little reminder of the Stories 3 collab quest and the cool rewards you can get at the end!
As we previously mentioned, there’s a cool selection of Monsters from Wilds in Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection. Below, we’ll show off the Kinship Attacks of a few of them. By the way, a Kinship Attack is an “ultimate attack” of sorts, which you can unleash in battle by building up a Kinship Gauge as you fight alongside your Monstie (the term for a Rider’s Monster companions). Every Monstie has a unique one too!
Arkveld
Befriending an Arkveld has its benefits! Unleash the power of a Flagship with its "Final Rampage" Kinship Attack! It certainly gives Arch-tempered Arkveld vibes! *We heard from the others that Nata approves this message
Rey Dau
Sporting a silvery grey look thanks to its Dual-Element, it’s Rey Dau! Apex Predator of the Windward Plains and now your handy pocket railgun in Stories 3.
Chatacabra
Chatacabra may be an introductory Monster in Wilds, but they can be a staple of your squad in Stories 3, with some stylish power too!
To celebrate the launch of Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, we added a new, permanent Side Mission to Wilds, “A Royal Request”. This quest brings back the classic “Transport Quest” vibes with some good old fashioned egg delivery shenanigans, and special cosmetic rewards that includes pendants, Palico gear and Hunter Profile items!
To start this quest, you just need to be HR9 or above and speak to an NPC called Sole in the Scarlet Forest base camp.
That wraps up our post, thanks for checking it out! We hope you enjoyed seeing some of the Wilds Monsters you can find in Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection in action. As we mentioned and linked at the start of the post, there’s a free demo with save data transfer to the full game available now, so if this post has you keen to try a turn-based RPG twist on the Monster Hunter you know, go check it out!
Thanks everyone!

To all players of Monster Hunter Wilds,
Title update 4 will be released on December 16, 2025.
This update will deliver additional content, including Gogmazios, the first Elder Dragon in Wilds, and the expansion of endgame content with the addition of the Gogma Artian Weapons.
In this update we also focus on improving the game's stability and performance, implementing various improvements including CPU/GPU optimization for all platforms.
*Content in development is subject to change.
To further improve stability and performance, additional improvements will be implemented in a patch exclusive to the Steam version in late January 2026, as well as in the Ver. 1.041 update in February.
We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who has reported issues and provided feedback.
Your feedback has aided the development team's ongoing work to improve the overall experience through these updates.
We'd like to further explain the stability and performance improvements roadmap that was shown in the December 2025 Monster Hunter Showcase.
Free Title Update 4 will implement CPU/GPU optimisations across all platforms: PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.
Processing time will be improved by distributing the process across frames for elements that demand the heaviest load, which includes players, monsters, and graphical user interfaces (primarily the HUD and maps).
Processing load is reduced by comprehensively reviewing and streamlining various processes, such as reducing the number of simultaneous effects and improving collision detection for Palico and Seikret.
Various other improvements, including optimization and reduction of memory usage, will be implemented.
These measures are designed to improve the experience for all players, while avoiding negatively impacting the existing game. By implementing improvements to common processes experienced by all players, we aim to resolve issues experienced by players on a wide variety of hardware configurations.
Here's a look at gameplay comparison videos showing the differences between Free Title Update 3 and Free Title Update 4 on the 'Recommended specs' of the 'Steam version system requirements'.
*Testing was conducted with the frame generation setting set to "Disable".
*Performance metrics captured using Steam's in-game overlay performance monitor.
*This is only one example, and performance may vary depending on PC configuration and other environmental factors.
*Content in development is subject to change.
1. Intel CPU and NVIDIA GPU combination
This video tests the exact CPU and GPU combination specified in our recommended specs in system requirements.
Hardware Environment
CPU: Intel Core i5-10400
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Super (VRAM 8GB)
Resolution: 1080p (Upscaled) *NVIDIA DLSS: Performance
Graphics Settings: Medium
2.AMD CPU and AMD GPU combination
This video tests the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X CPU, which is the most commonly used CPU within the recommended range based on the system requirements.
*The AMD CPU specified in the recommended specs in system requirements is the AMD Ryzen 5 3600.
Hardware Environment
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6600(VRAM 8GB)
Resolution: 1080p (Upscaled) *AMD FSR: Performance
Graphics Settings: Medium
Currently, in the Windward Plains locale, which is prone to heavy load during Inclemency events, the frame rate hovers around 40 FPS for both environment settings (1) and (2) when the frame generation option is set to "Disable". However, we confirmed that in most cases FPS goes higher than 40 FPS after applying the update.
We also confirmed a frame rate improvement of roughly 5% or more in the Scarlet Forest and Oilwell Basin. While in these areas, players will generally experience higher average frame rates than in the Windward Plains.
*This is only one example, and performance may vary depending on PC configuration and other environmental factors. For instance, this update yields limited improvements for hardware at the "minimum" system requirements, when compared to the improved frame rate seen at the "recommended" system requirements.
Following the release of Free Title Update 4, we will continue to deliver stability and performance improvements. Next, we'll share further details on the updates planned for January and February 2026.
Notice
Following the release of Free Title Update 4, we plan to remove the Monster Hunter Wilds Benchmark from Steam. With the improved performance of the retail version introduced in Free Title Update 4, the benchmark no longer provides an accurate result for players.
This patch will include optimization improvements for Steam-specific processes and options to reduce processing load. It will also include a review of presets.
Addition of Settings to Reduce CPU Load
A "CPU" tab will be added to the Options menu. This tab will include new CPU options to reduce CPU load, such as Endemic Life Display Count, Players Displayed in Lobby, Small Monster Quality, Effect Quality and Animation Quality.
Addition of Settings to Reduce GPU Load
New graphics options will be added such as Foliage Density, along with new settings for existing options like Volumetric Fog.
These new options provide greater customization for players to alleviate CPU and GPU load to match their hardware environment and personal preferences.
Additionally, we will make further optimization improvements to VRAM usage to ensure optimal graphics quality. We will also improve implementation of the high-resolution texture pack and optimize texture streaming speed.
Furthermore, we plan to improve shader compilation processing to reduce processing wait time when launching the game.
This update adds Arch-Tempered Arkveld and other content, and also implements additional optimization improvements.
Improvements include further CPU/GPU optimization, and we are currently verifying measures to reduce GPU processing load by adding quality levels (LOD) to the polygon mesh for 3D models. This may help to reduce processing load by swapping to low-resolution models for objects farther away from the camera.
We are also re-examining memory-related processes to identify further potential improvements.
While we have conducted extensive testing across various in-house hardware configurations leading up to launch and subsequent updates, these tests failed to capture the wide variety of issues experienced by players across their unique setups.
We take this matter seriously and are committed to investigating and resolving common issues across different user environments. With the updates announced today, we will implement various improvements to ensure players can enjoy the game with confidence, regardless of platform.
As mentioned at the beginning, we would like to thank everyone who has reported issues and shared feedback.
We appreciate your continued support for Monster Hunter Wilds.
Send Your Feedback:
If you encounter any issues after each update, please share your feedback with us via the contact form or submit a crash report. Contact Form
On the Steam version, we have confirmed that issues may occur depending on certain graphics driver versions or other software being used concurrently. Please review the system requirements and other notices in preparation for Free Title Update 4.
System Requirements
Hey hunters,
How’s the hunting?
Today we’d like to share with you some behind the scenes concept art from the development of Monster Hunter Wilds, ahead of Free Title Update 4’s release on December 16!
We’ll kick things off with a recap of the Rey Dau Masterclass presentation that Monster Hunter Wilds director, Yuya Tokuda, conducted recently at the 'Monster Hunter Festa 2025 Paris' event, after which we’ll take a look at the creation process behind Arkveld and the Wudwuds!
*Please note, the information in the images shown in this section are from development and may differ from the final product.
Rey Dau rules the Windward Plains as its apex predator. Let’s take a look at each part of Rey Dau. Its head and mouth have the distinctive shape of a predator with sharp teeth designed to tear through herbivorous monsters. The structure of the operational fangs and jaws draws inspiration from the mandibles of centipedes.
When Rey Dau becomes fully charged, it closes the discharge organ in its head and unleashes a powerful electric discharge attack.
To withstand the force of such a powerful strike, Rey Dau exposes the charging organ from its neck and stabilises its head, then by conducting the electricity from its tail, through to its neck, it can release all the electricity stored throughout its body in one go!
Rey Dau has electricity-generating organs in its body that cause it to become charged and generate electrothermal energy during attacks by dragging its charged wings and tail along the sand. The sand then crystallises and attaches to Rey Dau’s body. These non-conductive, glass-like crystals helps suppress and control electrical discharges from the monster’s internal electricity-generating organs, aiding it in unleashing powerful electric attacks.
The highly textured surface of Rey Dau’s body also has the effect of drawing electricity from the charged atmosphere in a sandstorm, enabling it to become charged at an accelerated rate during Inclemency.
If Rey Dau moves while covered in crystals, the pieces of ore rub against each other and emit sounds. The people of Kunafa Village gather this ore, craft noise-making items, and use them to ward off monsters.
Ores are used not only for the noise-making items but also for home decorations.
The decoration on the chieftain's house on the far right resembles the pattern which displays the power of the thunder attribute.
This diagram depicts the symbol of the Ruins of Wyveria appearing within the game. The pattern in the top left corner represents the power of the lightning attribute.
That wraps up the masterclass, but we’ve got even more concept art waiting for you below!
Here's a look into the creation of a flagship monster, Arkveld, and its piercing gaze!
What are your most memorable moments from clashing with The White Wraith? Feel free to let us know in the comments.
To explain this piece of concept art, we felt it best to ask the cheeky denizens of the Scarlet Forest themselves: “Please be perceptious of Wudwud wearing fur of pink menace! Pay tribooty! Happy Time! Share!”
That wraps up today’s post, thanks for taking the time to check it out! We’ll have more concept art to share with you in the future too!
Thank you all for your continued feedback, support and passion.
We’ll see you in the hunt!

Hey hunters,
How’s the hunting?
We hope you’ve been enjoying Title Update 3! From the Final Fantasy XIV Special Collaboration, to the recent Festival of Accord: Dreamspell event and the arrival of the first 9★ Arch-Tempered monster, Nu Udra!
Speaking of Title Updates, we’re here today to share with you all some cool information about Free Title Update 4, including the news that it will be releasing on December 16!
On top of that, we’ve got five more pieces of info to share with you today, including Gogmazios, new endgame features, 9★ Rathalos and more! We’ll also share some news on the team’s work on performance and stability improvements for the game!
Gogmazios comes to the Forbidden Lands
Get ready for TU4, featuring the addition of the Elder Dragon, Gogmazios!
⚔️ HR 100+
🔴 Fire weapon mechanic 🟣 Dragon element weakness
The oil covering Gogmazios's body can be softened with fire attacks, making it easier to land hits, exposing its weakness to dragon element.
New Endgame Related Weapon Features!
As well as the new monster Gogmazios, we're also adding new weapon related endgame features.
Materials obtained from Gogmazios can be used with Artian Weapons of Rarity 8 to create new, stronger Artian Weapons that have one Set Bonus Skill and one Group Skill, chosen at random. (They will retain their existing reinforcement bonuses.)
In addition, Reinforcement bonuses for them are even stronger than those for the standard Artian weapon, so prepare to make further use of reinforcement materials such as Oricalcite!
From today, the following two event quests, which yield Artian materials and Ancient Weapon Fragments rewards, will be permanently available : "King of a Faraway Sky" and "Masterless Claws."
In preparation for TU4, be sure to forge and upgrade your Artian weapons!
Transcend Your Armor & More Armor Spheres!
To help you face the high attack power of Gogmazios, we're also adding a new way to upgrade your armor even further.
Through a process called "Transcending," you can make your armor even stronger than before, after reaching HR 100+.
Transcending raises the limits imposed on Armor Sphere upgrades and also enhances the decoration slots on armor of rarity 5 and 6, supporting their viability in late and endgame content.
In TU4, we're also making Armor Spheres easier to obtain, but in the meantime, you can gather them through 7★+ Investigations and Event Quests!
Smelting Adjustments!
We'll be increasing the amount of smelting points gained from some of the monster parts that have not previously been widely used for Oricalcite and Armor Shpere smelting.
Additionally, we'll be implementing the following measures to make Armor Spheres easier to obtain for players.
Permanent Event quest for gathering Heavy Armor Spheres.
Increased the amount of Armor Spheres you gain from Limited bounties.
9★ Rathalos & Weapon Buffs
9★ Rathalos will appear in certain locales and you can save it as an investigation. You can also create a quest for multiple targets, including 9★Rathalos with other monsters.
We'll also be implementing balance changes (buffs) for some weapon types in TU4. More details on these adjustments coming soon!
Performance and Stability
We remain committed to listening to your feedback and improving both performance and stability of the game. We are targeting Free Title Update 4 to implement a multifaceted plan, including CPU and GPU related optimizations.
