Kodansha Game Lab has released ‘MOCHI-O’ , an apocalyptic homeland defense adventure where you raise and battle hamster-shaped handheld annihilation weapons.

This is an apocalyptic homeland defense adventure where you raise “MOCHI-O,” a weapon of annihilation resembling a hamster, to protect your nation. As a “caretaker,” you nurture MOCHI-O and use it to annihilate foreign enemies attacking your country. Look forward to the “gentle apocalyptic world” story by Zxima, known for works like “Parasite Days”, and the nurturing elements that go beyond mere cuteness.

We’re excited to announce that Chinese (Simplified and Traditional) has been added to MOCHI-O! The currently available demo version already supports these languages, so if you haven’t played yet, please give it a try.

Today, we've released the demo version of ‘MOCHI-O’!

We'll be exhibiting at the Steam Next Fest, running from October 13th to October 20th (PT).

‘MOCHI-O’ is an apocalyptic homeland defense adventure where you raise and battle the adorable annihilation weapon, MOCHI-O. It's the latest work from Zxima, known for games like Parasite Days and Post-Apocalypse Bakery, featuring unique game systems and a bizarre worldview born from his distinctive sensibility.

The demo lets you experience the early stages and story. As a keeper, strengthen MOCHI-O by feeding her seeds and petting her, then face formidable foes.

The full game is scheduled for release within 2025.
