The Green Witch outfit

When completed, they were considered masters of the wind, as they could control the broom flight to perfection. A very inviting possibility if you wanted to enjoy a long flight around the island, reach a last corner to explore or take some nice pictures!

The game inspired by Kiki’s Delivery Service was launched on Early Access on Steam and Nintendo Switch last August 21st, and has sold 60,000 copies so far, with a very positive reception from players. Hello deliverers! How are your flights across the Isle of the Winds going? We have important news for you, as the Roadmap published at the beginning of the Early Access has suffered a slight modification - but it has an explanation! We have received many messages from the community suggesting changes and improvements to make the game experience better, but there is one of them that has stood out above all others: the addition of the minimap. What's going to happen to the planned content? Nothing bad! Just that now, instead of 2 Content Patches, there will be 3. So in this second Content Patch it will be included:

• Fishing minigame
• Minimap
• New language: Valencian

Minimap

Fishing Minigame

As you know, old seawolf O'Vel is nostalgic for the days when he sailed the seas, and fish are a nice reminder of those times. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41890267/8cc0a357ec7199720c8b71810e28009ce975554b.jpg In this minigame you can bring him back the joy by bringing him some of the fish that roam the waters of Mont Gaun, but don't think it will be easy! We had a lot of fun designing this minigame and creating these little friends, so hope you like it.

New language: Valencian

Like all our previous games, Mika and the Witch's Mountain had to include Valencian among its languages. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41890267/40d49bad62e665242aa3b400370c153933dcef68.png We know that very few people will play in this language, but we are very proud of our land and language!

Churro Express minigame

Awan, the Ank, has come to Orilla Town to set up his chocolate & churro business. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41890267/43e4000db567da466b04b0eed367fe066c5a4a22.png He wants to try an innovative home delivery service, but he needs someone who can do it at the right time so that the chocolate doesn't get cold. In this minigame you will have to complete 7 circuits scattered all over The Island of the Winds in a given time to demonstrate your skills with the magic broom. Save the Kitties minigame

Kitty and cute animal lovers, we need you! 5 kittens have come to Orilla Town for shelter, but they are very hungry — could you feed them (please say yes)? {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41890267/d1cbbb1fc1d08088c01e5d435964dbd391f77833.png Collect the cans of food that you can get at the Amazing Deliveries office and find each kitten to feed them. This mini-game will be available after completing Act 3.

The Pet Companion

After completing the special training that Miss Olagari had prepared for you, many things have changed. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41890267/d7ba835e78cc9555808269ccc03730689047ef2f.png One of the first rewards you have earned is the Companion, Edgar The Crow, who will now fly with you every time you get on your broom. Note: you must be equipped with the Raven keychain for Edgar to appear.

New cosmetics and achievements

• Signs threw an error every time they were read by the user. This was related to a bug that provoked some tutorials to display repeatedly instead of just once.

• Fixed a texture loading issue that caused the game to crash sporadically.

Steam Deck Verified

Woohoo! Some of you already confirmed that Mika and the Witch’s Mountain runs smoothly on Steam Deck, but now it's official 😀 {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41890267/193ec312402cf508f395d45f0e25446ec14fc6b4.png This is amazing news for us, as we know Mika is a very “portable game” to play while relaxing on the couch or bed, even to liven a trip up!

Known issues, Work in Progress and Suggestions

After the last patch to fix, in addition to other minor issues, the “airplane bug”, we have detected new ones:

• Napopos tutorials popping up more than once.
• Multiple achievements do not unlock.

Community feedback and suggestions

• Add a Tutorial section to view again the tutorial messages.
• Inverting camera X axis option in menu

Let's develop a bit more about the 2 content patches:

Does Early Access mean that the game will be released incomplete?

Not at all! The complete adventure will be included in the August 21st release, but we want to take the opportunity of an EA (Early Access) to add more content to explore in depth (this is a small advance hehe) the mountain and also take into consideration your feedback after playing the game. It’s Steam Next Fest time, once again! It's not the first time that Mika and the Witch's Mountain demo is live during a Next Fest festival and that's why "we aren't officially participating", but we always wanted to share that moment with you, especially for those who missed the opportunity to play in previous occasions. New cinematic: second fragment

Here you have some new frames of the new cinematic that our friends from Alkimia Animation Studio are preparing for Mika and the Witch's Mountain. https://www.alkimiastudio.com/ As you know these new animations will support some parts of the gameplay to enrich your game experience. It looks like Greff is having some trouble carrying all those packages, he sure could use the help of a certain little witch and her magic broom!

Packages: how to (not) break, wet or mess

Good news: all the deliveries of the critical path of the game are proudly implemented and tested. Also bad news: for those who thought Mika and the Witch's Mountain would be as simple as carrying packages back and forth without worry or difficulty, there’s more! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41890267/3b7f46422ad3273078dd6af39e705ca0e75fba0a.png Not only are you going to have to find the recipients of the packages being the newcomer to the Island of the Winds, but you're going to have to be careful not to break them or get them wet - you're even going to have limited time to do so in some cases! But it's going to be fun, promise! Of course, for those of you who want to have your delivery card full of positive ratings (green stamps) you may need to repeat a few deliveries.

Tarot cards ingame: gotta find em all!

Another feature of the game successfully implemented and tested are the tarot cards, which you will be able to collect inside the game...but we’re not going to give more details! OST: Mark Sparling x Adrian Berenguer collab

It’s treat time! One of the many stretch goals promised on the Kickstarter campaign is completed: the special song composed by Mark Sparling and Adrian Berenguer is done! As you may know, Adrian Berenguer work is present in previous Chibig’s games and A Short Hike is one of the biggest inspirations for Mika and the Witch’s Mountain, so this collab is something really special to us. It was an honor to have such a unique piece in the game OST, hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we do! A pretty long update, sorry! Day of the Devs 2024

This is the first time we received an invitation to participate at the Day of the Devs event, an important and exciting event for indie developers in the world. Tokyo Indie Games Summit 2024

Our apprentice witch's calendar of events started in Japan. Fortunately, our friends from Pikii supported us and helped us from there so we could share some great days with all the attendees and other amazing games. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41890267/b8835d42d7673bbf41feabaa51807bb25a0e1c56.png This time, Mika shared space with other wonderful games, some of them also from our catalog, such as Koa and the Five Pirates of Mara and Deiland Pocket Planet. It's been a very exciting experience for us, as it's our first time attending these events. Doing it with Mika and the Witch's Mountain is even better because so many people recognize our adorable little delivery witch. We are looking forward to being part of more events this year, we hope to see you at some of them!
