Mecha Knights: Nightmare news & patch notes

Hey everyone, quick update! Unity recently announced a security vulnerability affecting all games made with versions 2017.1 and later. They’ve stressed there’s no evidence of it being exploited, but they issued fixes and asked all devs to patch their projects. As soon as I learned about this, I took immediate action and applied Unity’s security update to the game. While I was at it, I also slipped in some small fixes: - Acid area damage no longer triggers during pause - Mission 27: F35 VFX issue fixed - Mission 18: Falling Plane VFX issue fixed - Mission 12: Crashed Helicopter VFX issue fixed - Weapon description text tweaks PS: The Steam page for Mecha Knights 2 is in the works - it will be the project reveal, where I’ll share what the game is about, its main improvements, and the new features. The page will also include details, screenshots, and gifs. I’ll post dev updates there regularly once it’s live (just like I did with MKN1), and I’ll update you here as soon as the page goes up.

Hello Knights! Patch 1.6 brings fixes and improvements - mainly item drop tier selection for all raids, more items displayed on the victory screen, and new nightmares in T3 raids. There are also 11 new parts including unique weapons like powerful plasma bombs. What's next? MKN will now be in the maintenance phase, so no new major updates are planned. I will be monitoring feedback for major bug reports and will try to fix them in small updates. Hello knights! I'm finalizing my work on patch 1.6 and the Raid Map Pack DLC . There are a few new unique weapons and parts coming to the game in the free update. Fires projectiles with an experimental explosive warhead that creates a huge plasma ball on impact, dealing damage over a large area for a few seconds. Hello! Mecha Knights: Nightmare is getting a second DLC - the Raid Map Pack. This pack will contain five completely new raid maps, including farm fields, oil fields, small towns, and an underground base! The DLC will be released along with a patch that includes improvements, fixes, and free new T3 parts. You will now be able to choose item drop tiers in each raid map, with higher tier drops becoming available as you progress through the main campaign. There will also be new challenging threats in the later raid waves. My goal is to add more replayability, allowing you to hunt for any item tier on your favorite maps, while I will be working on a bigger and better sequel! As the development of Operation Ascalon approaches its final stages, I wanted to let players know that Mecha Knights patch 1.5 will include content and new features that won't be limited exclusively to those who purchase the new DLC. New additions to Active Modules will include Missile strikes - you will be able to call in a missile strike with various warheads to help you get out of difficult situations, including cluster munitions effective against larger groups of enemies. To make the battles even bigger I’ve optimized a lot of the code responsible for the AI, and in the patch that arrives alongside the DLC, I’m introducing a new game setting that I'm really excited about - Enemy Limit. Altering this will allow you to increase the number of Reds you encounter on the battlefield, with the maximum possible number depending on your hardware. Here are some of the new additions to the game. The DLC introduces a new chapter to the game's story with 7 new missions and 4 new raids. Players will follow Ethan and the Echo team as they confront challenges and adversaries in a mission to save the allied forces at Suez Canal from a new Red swarm. Additionally, two new characters will join the team and aid them in their mission. New mech customization options will be added, including:

I’m back, and with some exciting news! I have the pleasure of announcing that the game will be enhanced further with DLC: Mecha Knights: Nightmare | OPERATION ASCALON A newly formed taskforce is sent to the Middle Eastern theatre of war to stop an imminent disaster. An enormous swarm of Reds is attacking the Suez Canal. Losing this vital area would endanger the entire African continent, and the clock is ticking. Echo Team will be sent on a dangerous mission deep behind enemy lines to give the Allied forces a fighting chance. Included in the DLC: -New missions centred around defeating the Southern swarm -New higher-tier weapons -New parts to increase customisation options for your mecha -New equipment for greater build diversity Along with the DLC, the base game will also get an update with improvements and fixes. I'm carefully reading your feedback and plan to improve the game over a series of upcoming patches and updates. The biggest priority will be to fix reported issues and implement some of the most requested features including, but not limited to: -4K resolution support -Inverted mouse control -Binding of additional mouse buttons To give you easier access to the gear, drop rates in Raid Missions will be increased. Hey Mecha Knights, just wanted to share some details with you, with the intention of being as clear as possible. Working as a solo developer by night and having a day job at the same time, is tough. Ultimately it boils down to this: I won't be able to ship the game as fast as I promised. Recent intense round of beta testing performed by the awesome community has revealed a few areas where the game can still be further improved. The release date is being moved to August 30th, so I have more time to implement that last batch of fixes and improvements. This game is a labour of love. I feel that this additional month will significantly benefit the overall experience. I do apologise for further delaying the game but I hope you will understand that I only have the best intentions for this game and for your enjoyment of it.
