Thank you for your patience! We sincerely appreciate all the feedback and impressions we've received for the demo of Marisa of Liartop Mountain. Based on your valuable input, we're excited to unveil the Scarlet Devil Mansion Update.

Marisa of Liartop Mountain is a game that embraces the charm of board game style storytelling. With this update, we’ve aimed to deliver the fun of “enjoying games together with close friends” while enhancing the RPG elements for a deeper gameplay experience.

Highlights of the Update

・”Playing” Within the Scarlet Devil Mansion

Remilia Scarlet, Flandre Scarlet, Patchouli Knowledge, and Sakuya Izayoi join as players of the mysterious in-game book Marisa of Liartop Mountain. They observe Reimu's adventure as a game and chime in with spontaneous, often chaotic suggestions. Even if their advice causes major trouble for Reimu, they simply laugh and enjoy the outcome.

・Character Progression

Reimu gains experience points and levels up throughout the adventure, but each Scarlet Devil Mansion member has different ideas about how she should grow, and the dice you acquire may affect your adventure. You can follow your favorite character’s advice, prioritize your stats or dice strategy, or even reject a suggestion outright with a “reroll” (though it comes at a cost!).

・More Freedom in Exploration and Combat

You are able to meet unique allies and enemies in the strange library. By observing enemy patterns and exploiting weaknesses, even tough opponents can be defeated without taking damage. Thinking ahead may reveal surprising solutions.

・Play from Prologue through Chapter One

The full game will have five chapters, but the demo lets you play from the prologue to the end of Chapter One. Reimu can level beyond 10, allowing for powerful builds and new routes based on specialized dice. Note: Demo save data will not carry over to the full version.

Thank you very much for all the feedback on the demo released at the end of last year. On behalf of the development team, I would like to express our sincere gratitude once again. Development on the full game is still ongoing, but we are now at a stage where we can share information much closer to the full game. . Below, we’d like to report on some of the major changes to come. ※The information presented here is based on the current development version of the full game and is subject to change. Thank you for your understanding. ・Members from the Scarlet Devil Mansion: Four individuals, Remilia Scarlet, Flandre Scarlet, Patchouli Knowledge, and Sakuya Izayoi will participate as “Players” in the game. As the Player, you must listen to their perspectives and desires while making your own decisions. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44831781/3422eec1ac880ec849cde21f46739e73dad309f6.png ・Characters from the Scarlet Devil Mansion will affect the game progression: Depending on whose opinions the player chooses to follow, it will affect the character’s growth and the direction of gameplay. ■Demo Update Schedule

At present, the full version of the game is in its final stages of development, and we are temporarily postponing updates to the demo. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Finally, the game experience will drastically changed after the Scarlet Devil Mansion. For this reason, the demo will be temporarily taken down in the coming days. and we will release a demo version with the Scarlet Devil Mansion update included. We plan to re-release it with significantly more content, so please stay tuned! We apologize for the inconvenience and sincerely appreciate your understanding and patience.

■Director’s Letter

We are truly delighted that so many gamers have played the Marisa of Liartop Mountain demo, and the entire development team is deeply grateful for the reviews we’ve received. Every piece of feedback and every opinion you’ve shared has been carefully read by all members of the development team. Marisa of Liartop Mountain is a game that strongly respects classic gamebooks, but we acknowledge that this has resulted in certain aspects of the game being less accessible. Additionally, as we were unable to implement all of the features planned for the final version in the demo, we sincerely apologize for the unintended gameplay experiences that may have resulted. We’ve also received many requests to ""include more Touhou characters."" Regarding this, the development team deeply regrets that we were unable to include many elements in the demo due to time constraints in adjusting the game systems and scenarios. The members of the Scarlet Devil Mansion are ready and waiting, so we ask for just a little more patience. Thank you for your understanding and support. Below are the fixes and updates we plan for the full release. ・QoL updates 　We will release a patch to improve the gameplay experience, including message skipping, faster animations, and the ability to retry from checkpoints (please see the patch notes below for details). ・Strengthening the TTRPG flavor 　We will enhance the experience so you feel the vibes of ""playing a tabletop RPG together."" ・Strengthening the CRPG element 　We will enhance the enjoyment of CRPGs by improving character progression and introducing more intricate combat mechanics. ・Strengthening replayability 　Giving better replayability for more game-play. ・Better world design 　We will provide more exciting adventures! ・Game mechanics for a deeper Touhou feel 　Fans of Touhou can enjoy seeing familiar faces deeply involved in the game. The whole team will continue to develop the game which while deepening our concept of Tabletop Style RPG. We hope you will look forward to the full release and the demo version based on the final product of Marisa of Liartop Mountain. As the first update, we have addressed bugs in the demo and made improvements to enhance playability. We hope for your continued support for Marisa of Liartop Mountain.
