This update is not about new spells or heroes. It is about strengthening the game’s technical foundation, improving VR stability, and preparing Magic Madness VR for future updates, including our upcoming Meta Quest standalone release.
Let’s get into it.
⚙️ Magic Madness VR engine upgrade Magic Madness VR has been upgraded to Unreal Engine 5.7, giving the game a stronger technical foundation for future updates.
🥽 Improved VR stability This upgrade helps us build a more consistent and reliable in-headset experience, with fewer edge-case issues during VR gameplay.
📱 Stronger standalone VR foundation The update improves the game’s technical base for Quest-class standalone VR devices, including better support for Android, Vulkan, and mobile rendering workflows.
This is also a key step toward bringing Magic Madness VR to Meta Quest as a free-to-play standalone experience with cross-platform multiplayer. More on that very soon.
🚀 Better performance optimization path Newer engine tools give us more room to improve performance, tune rendering, and keep gameplay feeling smooth in VR.
🔍 Improved debugging and profiling We now have better tools to identify performance issues in Magic Madness VR and make more accurate optimization decisions.
🧩 Better memory handling The upgrade gives us a stronger foundation for managing texture memory and reducing visual or memory-related issues.
🛠️ Cleaner foundation for future updates Moving to a newer engine version helps reduce old workarounds and technical limitations, making future Magic Madness VR updates easier to build and maintain.
🎮 What this means for players This is a behind-the-scenes update, but an important one: a more stable, smoother, and better-prepared Magic Madness VR experience going forward.
