Logic Bombs news & patch notes

• Added a flood fill effect after bombs have finished exploding.
• If two bombs are connected they will now light back up if already greyed out and be prevented from greying out until they're disconnected again.
• If the number on a bomb is exceeded by the number of targets connected, it will now light back up.
• If the number of walls in a row/column is exceeded, the number will light back up.
• If a blue thing is connected to a bomb it will now change state, similar to the way targets change state when connected to bombs.

• Improved how playfield updates are handled so slowdown when placing walls/markers on levels with lots of targets should be much less noticable.

• Enabled compiler optimizations.
• Improved shader compilation so that redundant vertex shaders can be removed.
• Changed tilemap rendering to use a geometry shader for improved performance.
• Changed mouse input to be more lax. There's now a one tile border around the playfield where mouse input will still be accepted, this means the mouse will no longer forget whether it was adding/removing tiles if it slips a little bit outside the playfield.
• Fixed a minor visual glitch on the options menu where the displayed theme number would not update until the next frame.

If you've been waiting for that green badge then your moment has arrived. Logic Bombs is officially Steam Deck verified. Thank you to Valve for taking the time to review it. Logic Bombs uses its own little custom engine so I had no idea how difficult it would be to support the Deck until late into development. In the end, it turned out to be incredibly painless. This victory really belongs to the developers of Proton and SDL but I'm happy to tag along with them. I think Logic Bombs really suits the portable format and I'm glad it's so easy to play it this way through the Deck. If you own a Deck you're now officially invited to a realm of pure logic.

• Puzzles which display control information will now show different buttons depending on whether the player enters the level with mouse/gamepad/keyboard.
• Reverted the initial setup text to remove the mention of viewing controls from the options screen. That screen is still available.

• Yesterday's update shipped out a newer version of the SDL dll but the game itself wasn't rebuilt on the latest version. This update corrects that and hopefully solves some bugs in the process.

• Fixed a small mistake with the background information of 9-15 which was introduced in the last patch. If you've already started the puzzle, this information was unlikely to have affected any of your decision making so you can probably proceed without a reset.

• Fixed a crash that would occur if rumble was triggered when multiple controllers were connected.
• Fixed an incorrect pixel on one of the bombs in the Original and Green themes.

• Walls will no longer overwrite markers and vice versa.
• Modified the background for 4-2 to improve clarity. Puzzle is unchanged. This is already in the PC version.

• Puzzle 9-15 was invalid. If you've already opened this puzzle you don't necessarily need to reset your whole solution but if I tell you exactly what has changed it will reveal the location of a new wall, so I won't mention specifics. It may be best to reset anyway, apologies for the inconvenience.
• Fixed a minor visual inconsistency with the background of 5-13.

• The return (enter) key can now be used to navigate menus.
• Mouse and keyboard controls can now be viewed from the options screen.
• The initial intro sequence now mentions how to view mouse/keyboard controls.
• Pressing Escape on the level select screen will no longer quit the game immediately, it will take you to the options screen. You can quit the game from there.
• Modified the background for 4-2 to improve clarity. Puzzle is unchanged.
• Fixed a visual bug on the level select screen introduced in the last patch.
• Fixed a crash that could occur if rumble was enabled but a rumble incapable controller was connected.

Puzzle 3-8 was invalid, this should now been fixed in both the GB and PC versions. Reminder: if you're playing the GB version your game isn't patched until you start using the updated ROM file, that's up to you. If you've already attempted this puzzle, you should fully reset your solution by highlighting it on the level select screen and holding the marker button, this will fix it and allow it to be solved properly.
