Ace
Your fighter with the most damage dealt each wave permanently gains 40 HP and 1.5% attack speed.
Strategy tips:
Fighters with damage reduction, evasion, or regeneration, like Green Devil, Yozora, and Bone Crusher make good use of the HP.
Ramping fighters like Sky Queen, Berserker, and Doppelganger make good use of the attack speed.
Some fighters like Priestess, Lumerian, and melee DPS make good use of the HP and attack speed.
Expensive fighters generally benefit more from Ace.
Just for this patch, we're testing PvE as a separate queue!
The goal is to make everyone happier. PvE players can enjoy PvE 24/7, and classic players can enjoy good ole classic 24/7. If queue times are reasonable, we'll consider keeping this change long-term.

Lightning Hammer: Percent health damage: 2% --> 0%
Increased per-wave king scaling slightly
Upgrade Spell: 6% → 8%
Upgrade Attack: 10% → 8%
Fixed a bug where Rocko's Impale was doing too much damage to the king (decreased max stacks against the king from 10 --> 5)
These changes make the king stronger against big mercenaries in the early game and smooth out its power against waves (was previously too weak on waves 6, 13, and 18 and too strong on wave 20).
All Out Assault
Mythium: 110 → 100
Income: -20 → -12
All Out Assault was too coin-flippy.
Magic Lamp
Gold: 13 → 10
Very high pick rate. Magic Lamp shouldn't be the default choice, but rather a calculated one.
Smite
Gold: 75 → 78
Slightly low pick rate and win rate.
Protector
HP regeneration: 0.6% → 0.8%
Low win rate.

Cheap fighter spam is too strong in the mid game, so we're adding Feast to these waves. For example, it should be better to upgrade to Veteran than spam Peewees on wave 15, but it's currently not.
Also shifting power from wave 16 → 17.
Wave 19: Dire Toads
Damage decreased by 2%
Slightly too lethal.

View the team list to see your sign-up, and division once they are assigned after the check-ins are concluded.
Both players must join the Legion TD 2 Official Tournament Discord. Make sure to set your server nickname to match your in-game name.
You may sign-up as a solo with a suggested team name using the "/signup \" command. Solo teams will be added to the Public Teams list, then be formed into teams on the day of the tournament. Solo teams will be randomly assigned a team name from either of its members.
If you sign up as a solo, but then you find a teammate, you can re-sign up as a team any time before check-ins start. Just use the /signup command again with the new teammate. The tournament organizer will void your old solo signup after they process your new team signup.
After check-ins are over, all checked-in solo players will be randomly formed into teams by the tournament organizer. You cannot request a specific teammate at this point; if you want to play with a specific person, you should have signed up as a team instead.
It is still strongly recommended to sign-up as a team to guarantee your spot in the tournament and to give you time to practice with your teammate beforehand.

+3 Income
You can Borrow up to once per wave from waves 1-20
Borrowing increases your gold but decreases your income. Gold scales per wave from 4 --> 50. Income penalty scales per wave from -1 --> -100.
If you don't have enough income, you cannot Borrow
Moneylender is a BigBrain mastermind. Borrow strategically if you need extra gold for a worker or particular fighter, or if you simply need more value to hold. Be careful about Borrowing recklessly or too often.
Introducing community created lane skins, which are cosmetics that can be created and used by anyone!
This feature is currently in preview, available only to creators. It will be available to the general playerbase in next month's update (April).
Rotation time: 3.25 hours → 1.75 hours
Income & Chill is now integrated into classic, instead of being voted on (data showed it was voted through 99% of the time)
Reduced frequency of Mini & Wumbo
Introduced Vanilla Classic (no special rules) as a rotating mode. Will tune frequency based on its popularity and reception
Read more about our design philosophy on game balance, and use Drachbot to see mastermind, unit, and spell win rates and pick rates!
Aristocrat
Income for upgrading T6: 13 → 12
High pick rate, slightly high win rate.
Castle
Income on wave 11: 47 → 48
Low win rate.
Champion
Income penalty on wave 11: -13 → -14
High pick rate, slightly high win rate.
Battle Scars
Attack speed per stack: 3.5% → 3.3%
Slightly high pick rate and win rate.
Divine Blessing
Health: 2000 → 1900
Slightly high pick rate, high win rate.
Hypercarry
Attack speed, lifesteal, and spell vamp per stack: 4.2% → 4%
Mini & Wumbo only: 3.2% → 3%
Very high pick rate.
Loan
200 gold → 100 gold and 80 mythium
Income penalty: -31 → -30
Despite being balanced, Loan has been the least-picked spell in the game for years. It was so extremely defensive that it was (1) rarely picked in normal circumstances, and (2) also rarely picked in games with offensive spells because the existence of Loan discouraged players from making offensive plays.
This rework makes Loan more versatile.
Pawn Shop
Gold: 75 → 70
Slightly high pick rate and win rate.
Protector
Health regeneration: 0.5% → 0.6%
Low win rate.
Overwork
Reduced mythium rate on wave 12: -35% → -30%
Low win rate.
Sorcerer
Mana regeneration: 1.7 → 1.60
High pick rate and win rate.
Zeus
Autoattack damage increased by 5%
Pyro
Attack speed increased by 2%
Low pick rate and win rate.
Rogue Wave
Damage decreased by 4.8%
Delusion: Slow: 75% → 70%
High pick rate and win rate.
Sea Dragon / Lifebinder
Mana regeneration increased by 4%
Slightly low pick rate and win rate.
Sacred Steed / Pegasus
Mana regeneration increased by 7%
Slightly low pick rate and low win rate.
Spectral Scallywag
Unyielding Spirit: Health: 6-23 → 6-21
Unyielding Spirit: Damage: 0.3-1.1 → 0.3-1
Slightly high pick rate and win rate.
Infiltrator / Orchid
Attack speed increased by 2.2%
Slightly low pick rate and low win rate.
Elite Archer / Trinity Archer
Attack speed increased by 1.6%
Slightly low pick rate and win rate.
Crab Warlock / Crabomancer
Damage increased by 2.4%
Low pick rate and slightly low win rate.
Azeria
Health decreased by 1.5%
High win rate.
Gatling Gun / Vulcan Cannon
Attack speed increased by 2.6%
Low pick rate and slightly low win rate.
Banana Haven
Thorns: Reflect damage: 18 + 15% → 17 + 15%
Slightly high pick rate and win rate.
Hell Gate
DPS unchanged
Damage increased by 27%
Attack speed decreased by 21%
Slightly high pick rate and win rate. Hell Gate’s summons now attack slower (at the same speed as Soul Gate’s summons).
Crawling Catapult / Wandering Trebuchet
Damage decreased by 2%
High win rate.
Firelord
HP increased by 12%
Attack speed decreased by 3.6%
Molten Shield: Damage blocked: 60% --> 50%
Fenix
HP increased by 13%
DPS increased by 9%
Prismatic Shield: Damage blocked: 80% --> 50%
Prismatic Shield had too much power budget, making it overpowered in the late game. For example, a build of only Fenixes outperformed many stronger-looking builds on wave 20. When combined with mana buffs and lifesteal, Fenix became unstoppable.
This change also makes Fenix's statline comparable to that of Firelord (previously, Fenix was significantly tankier but lower DPS).
Mimic
Can now merge with itself once, creating a Giga Mimic with double the health and damage as a normal Mimic.
Mimic has been the least used mercenary for years. Its ability is fun but is primarily viable on waves 6-9 where it can realistically get kills. Now with Giga Mimic, it can also be used in the mid game.
Siege Ram
Health increased by 0.9%.
Low usage rate.
Kraken
Health decreased by 1.3%
High usage rate and win rate.
Shifting power from Kraken to Siege Ram.
Wave 15: Quadrapuses
Attack speed decreased by 1.5%
Wave 17: Metal Dragons
Health increased by 1.6%
Wave 18: Wale Chiefs
Attack speed increased by 1.3%
The dev team is constantly monitoring game balance, between looking at data and listening to community feedback. If anything is being more closely monitored than usual, it will be listed in this Balance Watchlist section. For this patch, the following are on the watchlist:
Strong: Shepherd
Fixed game window snapping to the top left on every startup when using windowed mode
Fixed Auto Power not respecting queued mercs on wave 22+
Fixed evolved Orchid not persisting the increased value.
PvE bot now sends Shaman and Four Eyes on waves 21+
Re-enabled Redraw in PvE
New emotes: coolBrute, gk, kappa, o7, schn3rd, stare, sus, brolyGiggle, lucyDizzy
Fixed Sakura not loading the wave scaling when loading builds into sandbox

If you've enjoyed the game, but haven't left a review yet, please consider posting a short (hopefully positive ) review for the game! If the game reaches 90% positive, Steam will give it more visibility = more players = more freelo & better matchmaking! If you enjoy these updates, please give it a Thumbs Up, too! If you have constructive criticism, let's chat about it. Discord and /r/LegionTD2 on reddit are our main channels of communication, and aside from the development team, there are community helpers who can ensure your feedback is heard, as well as answer pretty much anything you've ever wanted to know about the game.

Lane skins overhaul the appearance of your lane and are visible to all players in-game!
Lane skins are community created, meaning anyone can create lane skins, submit them to the in-game marketplace, and collect revenue from in-game sales.
The lane skin marketplace is not yet live. It will be fully launched in-game as part of next month’s update (April).
Lane skins are testable in-game. This gives creators a head start on being able to design, test, and submit their lane skins before the marketplace launches. See the Creator Guide below for full instructions.
▶️ How to Create a Legion TD 2 Lane Skin
After submitting a lane skin, the dev team must approve it before it enters the marketplace (low quality submissions will not be approved). If approved, the dev team will also assign one of the following price tiers:
$3.99 - Standard Skin. Most skins will be priced here.
$6.99 - Premium Skin. For exceptionally high quality skins.
Skins are purchased directly using USD, rather than premium essence. This is necessary to split revenue with creators.
For revenue split, payout information, and other information, see the Lane Skin FAQ.
Lane skins will be usable by players after the April monthly update goes live.
To buy & equip a lane skin, open the Shop, then click the Community Creations tab. From there, you can browse, purchase, and equip lane skins.
Can I disable lane skins?
While in-game, you can click a button in the tab scoreboard to toggle off/on each player's lane skin.
Alternatively, you can disable all lane skins by going to Options → Video → Enable Lane Skins → Off

Magic Lamp
+15 gold and grants a random legion spell, including those not offered this game
Rub it once… and fate does the rest.
Mooooo! Thanks to Danwolf.
For rotating modes in classic, players no longer vote. This allows players to know what to expect before they queue.
Previously, players would occasionally queue for classic with the expectation of playing the active mode, then be disappointed when it was voted against. Modes were voted for 90% of the time on average, but this 10% was still frustrating. Now what you see is what you get, which we believe is a cleaner design.
Additionally, we're retiring Tower Defense as a rotating mode. It will still be playable in custom games. We're sorry to Tower Defense fans - it just didn't have broad support from the community and was frequently voted against.
As always, more popular modes show up in the rotation more frequently.
Mini & Wumbo
Players now get 1 reroll for their opening Wumbo fighter to increase parity between players
Hypercarry: Attack speed and lifesteal/spell vamp: 3.5% --> 3.2%
Read more about our design philosophy on game balance, and use Drachbot to see mastermind, unit, and spell win rates and pick rates!
Aristocrat
Starting income: 5 --> 4
Income for building T6: 3 --> 4
Income for upgrading T6: 10 --> 13
Shifting power budget into Aristocrat's ability.
Champion
Income penalty on wave 11: -10 → -13
High pick rate and win rate.
Evolution
Starting gold: 2 → 1
Very high pick rate. A small nerf because we can't ignore Evolution's low win rate and don't want to penalize a mastermind just for being fun and well-liked. Evo's pick rate should decrease and stabilize over time as players realize it's not a consistently winning mastermind.
Fiesta
Gold gained from leaking decreased by 1 on waves 7-13 and 2 on waves 14-21.
High pick rate and slightly high win rate. This change shaves off a small amount of power, while not affecting pro leaks in the early game, where they are most impactful.
Miner
Starting gold penalty: -15 --> -14
Low win rate.
Shepherd
Sheep: Damage increased by 10%
Sheep: Shear Resilience: Damage reduction: 20% --> 25%
Low pick rate and slightly low win rate.
Stash
Stash gain increased by 3.2% on average
Low pick rate and win rate.
Yolo
Starting gold: 3 --> 4
Low win rate.
The high pick rates of Champion and Evolution are warping fighter and spell picks. We predict things will stabilize, so we're not making too many fighter and spell balance changes this patch.
Smite
Gold: 78 --> 80
Slightly low pick rate and win rate.
Infiltrator / Orchid
Attack speed increased by 1.6%
Slightly low pick rate and low win rate.
Dwarf Banker / Big Wig
Damage increased by 1.8%
Low pick rate and slightly low win rate.
Lumerian
Damage decreased by 2.4%
High pick rate and slightly high win rate.
Heroic Scrappy
Wind Up: Gold cost: 50 --> 40
Wind Up: 15% splash + 20% attack speed --> 12% splash and attack speed
Wind Up: AOE radius: 200 --> 150
High win rate. There was a bit too much power budget in Wind Up, which was warping when you could send against it.
Ghost Knight
Health decreased by 1.3%
Slightly high usage rate and win rate.
Centaur
Damage increased by 2.1%
Low usage rate.
Kraken
Health decreased by 1.3%
Slightly high usage rate and win rate.
Wave 20: Maccabeus
Attack speed decreased by 5.6%
Maccabeus was so strong that players highly prioritized tanks to stall the wave instead of trying to clear (or at least damage) the wave.
The dev team is constantly monitoring game balance, between looking at data and listening to community feedback. If anything is being more closely monitored than usual, it will be listed in this Balance Watchlist section. For this patch, the following are on the watchlist:
Strong: Cartel, Priestess of the Abyss, Cursed Casket, Pawn Shop
Weak: Castle
Increased the frequency of PvE and decreased the frequency of Giga Mercs, based on data of player preferences
Capped unit hitboxes, so large units don’t block you from clicking smaller adjacent units
Fixed Evolve cost for units with an active ability that increases its value like Veteran
Fixed the display resolution mistakenly being reset to the highest one available, despite having set a lower one
Decreased bonus income in PvE
Duo Change
Duos who are 200+ rating apart now converge in rating towards each other. The magnitude of the convergence is based on the size of the rating gap.
This helps to reduce smurf boosting while still allowing friends to play with each other and without affecting most normal duos.

Wind Up: Bonus attack speed: 25% → 20%
High win rate.
Ghost Knight
Health decreased by 1.2%
High win rate.
Four Eyes
Attack speed increased by 1.2%
Low win rate.
Fixes:
Fixes some issues with the friends list on the Epic Games client
Balance:
Champion
Attack speed and damage reduction: 15 → 14.5%
High win rate.
Evolution
Evolve cost: 12% → 10%
Attack speed and damage reduction: 12% → 10%
Decreased starting gold by 1
Evolution is too strong and crowding out other mastermind options.
Sheep
Health decreased by 20%
Now has 20% damage reduction ;)
Same effective health, but now stronger with health buffs.
Wave 18: Wale Chiefs
Health increased by 1.3%
Mini & Wumbo
Replaced Protector with Hypercarry
Hypercarry in Mini & Wumbo nerfed from 4.2% → 3.5%
Hypercarry was fun, so we’re bringing it back in a balanced form!
Improvements:
You can now double click a mastermind to pick it in the new selection screen.
Balance:
Evolution
Evolve cost: 10% → 12%
Starting resources: 2 income, 2 gold → 3 income, 3 gold
It was too strong to absent-mindedly Evolve most of your fighters. This change makes it more of a strategic choice.
Scrappy / Heroic Scrappy
Health decreased by 17%
DPS increased by 9%
Shifting power from health to damage.
Fixes:
Evolve now loads properly into sandbox, when copying a build from matchhistory
Enabled pack rat sui nerf for 1v1
Heroic Scrappy doesn't AoE your own units anymore... oops
Hid the 10% extra mythium rate in 1v1 from the UI (just visual)
Fixed mastermind selection ping
Fixed some UI issues with rendering names
Balance:
1v1
Mythium rate in 1v1 increased by 10%
In 1v1, waves are faster, which made workers weaker than expected, rewarded playing too safe, and caused value-generating units to be too strong. This change encourages workers.
Sheep
Damage: 8 → 10
Wave 18: Wale Chiefs
Health increased by 2.1%
Wave 19: Dire Toads
Health increased by 1.2%
Balance Watchlist:
Evolution
Evolution looks strong, but we’re still evaluating if it needs to be nerfed, and if so, the correct way to nerf it.
Fixes:
Fixed Nekomata evolve interaction with Alphamale / Lioness
Removed Evolve icons from Tab builds overview because it's too noisy visually
Fixed Legion spell undo accidently removing some other spells too that shouldn't be removed
You can't sacrifice your sheep anymore (who would ever do that anyway??!!)
You can now sell your sheep in sandbox
Evolve now applies the evolve ability to already placed fighters after you pick it (useful for sandbox, and also fixes mini&wumbo)
Disabled Shepherd for Mini&Wumbo for now because its tricky to make it work
Fixes:
- Changed Dwarf Banker back to natural armor (Accidental change)
- Evolved units now properly load into sandbox
- Evolved units show up in the tab builds
- Scrappy's wind up ability now loads into sandbox
- Monthly patch notes codes are now case-insensitive
- Fixed reconnect bug in 1v1 / custom games

Health: 2170 (Swift)
DPS: 163 (Impact)

Scrappy is a long-ranged DPS fighter. Use Wind Up to predict and defend against your opponent's send.
Shepherd
Start the game with a Sheep. You can freely reposition it each wave.
Your Sheep is loved and cannot be sold.
Sheep
Health: 200
DPS: 8
Range: Melee
Typing: Impact / Natural
Shepherd's strength lies in wave pathing manipulation. Use Sheep to pull each wave to your advantage.
Evolution
+2 income, +2 gold
Units have a final Evolved form with +12% damage reduction and +12% multiplicative attack speed
Evolving costs 10% of the value of the unit
Units with remaining upgrades cannot be Evolved
Nekomata can be evolved after reaching max stacks
Eggsack cannot be Evolved, but Hydra can
Sakura cannot be Evolved
Evolution rewards upgrading your units and comboing Evolutions with supportive units and legion spells. It also allows you to spend gold more efficiently.
With so many masterminds, we've revamped the mastermind select screen to make it easier to navigate:
Immediately unlock the Sun God Nucleus skin for free if you achieve any 2 season goals. Otherwise, you can unlock it via the shop when it's offered next year.
Read more about our design philosophy on game balance, and use Drachbot to see mastermind, unit, and spell win rates and pick rates!
Mastermind
Number of options in your initial roll: 10 --> 11
Number of options in your reroll: 4 --> 5
This increases average roll quality, improves roll distribution uniformity, and makes reroll more clutch.
Affected masterminds: Aristocrat, Cartel, Cash Out, Castle, Champion, Fiesta, Greed, Kingsguard, Lock-In, Miner, Saboteur, Scrapper, Stash
Champion
Damage reduction and attack speed: 10.25% --> 15%
Income after wave 10: -10
With the introduction of Evolution, Champion would have been overshadowed, so we're putting more power budget into the Champion ability.
Miner
Starting gold penalty: -16 --> -15
Low pick rate and slightly low win rate.
Stash
Income: 0 --> 2
Stash starting gold: 19 --> 11
Stash gain per wave decreased by an average of 31%
Stash allows players to gain a huge and unexpected influx of gold, which makes it too coin-flippy. This change shifts some of Stash's power budget to starting income.
Proton / Atom / Nucleus
Attack speed increased by 1.2%
Low win rate.
Pack Rat
If you full eco and don't try to clear the wave, mythium gained from Treasure Hunt is now also reduced, same as workers.
This change affects a tiny fraction of players who were taking advantage of an unintended strategy.
Gateguard / Harbinger
Summon health increased by 3.3%
Slightly low pick rate and win rate.
Royal Guard
Health decreased by 1.7%
Slightly high pick rate and win rate.
Kingpin
Base health and damage increased by 1.6%
Slightly low pick rate and low win rate.
Rogue Wave
Damage decreased by 4.5%
Too high damage for how much utility it provides.
Pipsqueak
Attack speed decreased by 2.9%
High pick rate and win rate.
Crab Warlock
Decreased mana synergy by 17%
Too strong with Starcaller and Magician. Encouraging players to upgrade to Crabomancer.
Lost Chieftain
Gaia Shield: Bonus health: 1550 --> 1600
Low pick rate and slightly low win rate.
Gatling Gun / Vulcan Cannon
Health increased by 3.3%
Low pick rate and slightly low win rate.

Slightly high pick rate and high win rate.
Hydra
Damage increased by 2.4%
Low pick rate and slightly low win rate.
Hermit
Damage decreased by 5.7%
Slightly high usage rate and win rate.
Wave 13: Drill Golems
Damage increased by 1%
Wave 14: Killer Slugs
Attack speed decreased by 1.2%
Shifting power from wave 14 --> 13.
Wave 15: Quadrapuses
Attack speed increased by 1.5%
Wave 16: Cardinals
Health decreased by 1%
Shifting power from wave 16 --> 15.
Waves 18-21
Health decreased by 12%
Feast: 0.1% health healed --> 0.5% bonus max health
Wave 20: Maccabeus
Health decreased by 15%
Feast: 0.1% health healed --> 0.5% bonus max health
Cheap unit spam and summoners like Crab Warlock are too strong in the late game.
The dev team is constantly monitoring game balance, between looking at data and listening to community feedback. If anything is being more closely monitored than usual, it will be listed in this Balance Watchlist section. For this patch, the following are on the watchlist:
Strong: Hypercarry, Robo Squad, Kraken
Weak: Overwork
Classic
Mini & Wumbo: Starting spells: Hypercarry replaced by Protector (Hypercarry was too dominant)
Giga Mercs: Shaman's Blood Rush targeting now takes Giga Mercs stacks into account
Campaign: Nerfed PennyTV's bonus income from 30 --> 25
Battle Scars and Hypercarry stacks are now loaded when you load a build into sandbox (only for games that ended after this patch is live)
Included all v12 hotfixes in the Codex patch histories
Added mastermind name in the mini scoreboard tooltip (hover bottom left player names)
You can now right click legion spells in the legion spell tooltip to ping your intent to pick one of them before wave 11
Increased frequency of PvE
Added video option to change the target display of the game
Added optional setting to always start the game with Auto Income enabled
Improved Bots to listen better to pinged mercs from players

Balance:
Rogue Wave
Delusion: Slow: 90% (70% for bosses) --> 75% (50% for bosses)
Sorcerer

Fixes:

Double Down
Double down loss multiplier: 2 to 2.3 based on rating → 2 to 2.2
Data showed Double Down being slightly weak. This change makes Double Down power neutral on average and positive if you’re skilled at predicting your chance of winning.
There's been power creep, so the strongest masterminds are getting small nerfs.
Cartel
Income penalty after wave 10: -39 → -40
High win rate.
Saboteur
Starting gold: 5 → 4
High win rate.
Scrapper
Scrap: Sell percentage: 85% → 90%
Starting resources: +3 income, +3 gold → +2 income, +2 gold
Angler is now 75% less likely to be rolled
Scrapper was more fun a few patches ago when Scrap was at 90%. However, it was both overtuned and promoted unhealthy gameplay with Scrapping Kingpins. For now, we're trying to a frequency reduction to Angler and will make further changes as needed.
Yolo
Starting gold: 4 → 3
High pick rate, slightly high win rate.
Executioner
Execute threshold: 15 (7.5% for ranged) --> 16% (8% for ranged)
Slightly low pick rate and win rate.
Giant Snail
Health and damage increased by 5%
Low pick rate and slightly low win rate.
Overwork
Bonus mythium rate on wave 11: 60% → 65%
Slightly low pick rate and low win rate.
Spread the Wealth
Gold: 95 → 98
Slightly low pick rate and win rate.
Titan
Health: 1450 → 1500
Slightly low pick rate and win rate.
Sorcerer
Effect: +58% ability damage --> +1.6 mana regen
Sorcerer was very strong on a small number of units (Trinity Archer, Azeria, and Banana Haven) and largely unviable on everything else, which made it an unhealthy design. And let's be honest - the old Sorcerer being OP on an autoattacker like Trinity Archer but not being usable on an ability-focused unit like Hades didn't make sense.
Additionally, the concept of "ability damage" has been poorly understood since the game's inception. Even many longtime players don't have an intuitive graph of how much ability damage units are dealing.
This new design will not only have much better gameplay clarity, we also believe it'll be more fun.
Slime Siren
Attack speed decreased by 2.2%
High pick rate and slightly high win rate.
Rogue Wave
Damage increased by 4.8%
Delusion: Amplifies ability damage taken by 20% (10% against bosses) --> Slows movement speed by 90% (70% against bosses) for 3 seconds
Movement speed modifiers (which are generally lacking from the game) create some fun strategies and synergies.
Pipsqueak
Attack speed decreased by 3%
Too safe and consistent as an opening.
Dwarf Banker / Big Wig
Short Selling: Attack speed increased: 10% → 12%
Low pick rate and slightly low win rate.
Mudman / Golem
Health increased by 1.6%
Low win rate.
Elite Archer / Trinity Archer
Attack speed increased by 1.6%
Compensation buff for the change to Sorcerer.
Gatling Gun / Vulcan Cannon
Health increased by 2.5%
Slightly low pick rate and win rate.
Holy Avenger / Sovereign
Attack speed decreased by 2.1%
High pick rate.
Banana Bunk / Banana Haven
Reflect damage decreased by 1
High pick rate and slightly high win rate.
Lord of Death / Hades
Mana regeneration decreased by 5%
High pick rate and slightly high win rate.
Hydra
Damage increased by 2.4%
Low pick rate and slightly low win rate.
Safety Mole
Damage decreased by 1.6%
Slightly high usage rate and win rate.
Witch
Damage increased by 3.5%
Low usage rate.
Ghost Knight
Health decreased by 40%
Ghostwalker: Reduces damage taken from autoattacks (non-ability damage) by 20% --> 50% damage reduction from all sources
This change makes Ghost Knight less of a hard counter to certain units but more versatile. Additionally, has a nice synergy with Hermit and Honey Bear.
Centaur
Damage increased by 2.1%
Low usage rate.
Wave 12: Mantises
Attack speed decreased by 1.3%
Wave 13: Drill Golems
Damage increased by 2%
Shifting power from wave 12 to 13.
Wave 16: Cardinals
Attack speed decreased by 1.1%
Wave 17: Metal Dragons
Health increased by 1.1%
Shifting power from wave 16 to 17.
Wave 20: Maccabeus
Attack speed decreased by 3%
Wave 20 is too lethal. 80% of games that reach wave 20 currently end there.
The dev team is constantly monitoring game balance, between looking at data and listening to community feedback. If anything is being more closely monitored than usual, it will be listed in this Balance Watchlist section. For this patch, the following are on the watchlist:
Strong: Sea Serpent, Hypercarry
Classic
Mini & Wumbo: Starting spells: Replaced Protector and Magician with Hypercarry and Pulverizer
Increased frequency of PvE and decreased frequency of Tower Defense
Improved roll recommender and Lock In autopicker algorithm
Fixed unintended pings when alt tabbing
Fixed Battlescars/Hypercarry bug with Hell Raiser
Fixed Hypercarry bug with modes that have multiple Legion Spell selections
Improved Nucleus Art
Fixed off-by-one error in post game graphs
Fixed Mastermind selections not showing in teamchat
Added a button to undo legion spells and champion during the build phase it was placed
Autosend and Queued mercs now get added to the estimated gold preview
Active abilities like Harden are now displayed in the Tab builds

Balance:
King
Improved targeting logic against some mercenaries, particularly Ogre and Four Eyes
Upgrade King Spell: 5.5% --> 6%
Four Eyes
Death Stare: Damage to king: 6 --> 4
Attack speed increased by 2.3% (compensation buff)
The king is a bit weak right now, so we're buffing the spell upgrade, nerfing Four Eyes against the king, and making the king smarter at targeting. Will continue to monitor and make more changes as needed in the next major patch.
Fixes
Fixed Mastermind / Roll messages not showing up in the Mastermind Selection Screen
Fixes

Auto Income: Same as enabling "Auto" before. Now also shows which mercenaries it will send
Save: Same as disabling "Auto" before
Auto Power: Automatically spends mythium on power mercenaries
Sends mercenaries based on your opponent's build
Shows which mercenaries it will send
Sends during the battle phase "pre-income," including on wave 21
Sends during the build phase "post-income" only if you've already sent or queued a power mercenary
Switches to Save afterwards
This feature is recommended for beginners and players who aren't comfortable manually picking mercenaries. Additionally, it's useful for experienced players, who will still manually power send, but can now feel reassured by Auto Power taking care of any remaining mythium. It's also useful to communicate your intention to power send, as well as for Classic players on waves 21+.
Select one unit to gain 4.2% attack speed, lifesteal, and spell vamp every wave.
Works on summons and clones.
Don't worry, they do not generate extra mythium ;)

Double Down
Double down loss multiplier: 2.1 to 2.4 based on rating → 2 to 2.3
Data showed Double Down being slightly weak. This change makes Double Down power neutral on average and positive if you’re skilled at predicting your chance of winning.
Sell
Sell percentage: 60% --> 70%
Years ago, we made sell percentage 60%, but never fully evaluated if that was the right number. We're increasing it to 70% this patch to allow for more creative strategies. 70% is still quite punishing, which is intentional to reward planning ahead and shifting gold and to avoid overly chaotic games.
Bounty
Mercenary gold bounties decreased by 50%
Froggo gold bounty decreased by 80%
Breaker gold increased by ~10%
This change makes mercenaries closer to waves in terms of bounty-to-power ratio. Holding vs. leaking mercenaries is now less swingy. If you successfully break your opponent, you’re rewarded less, but conversely, if your send fails to break your opponent, it’s not as disastrous because it feeds your opponent less gold. On net, leaking mercenaries is moderately less punishing and leaking the wave is slightly more punishing.
Bounty has been a point of feedback in the community, so we're keeping a close eye on this and will make further changes as needed.
Mastermind Rolls
You are now guaranteed 3 tanks of different types, up from 2
You are now guaranteed 3 DPS fighters of different types, up from 2
At least 2 of your tanks must be of different tiers/price points
At least 2 of your DPS fighters must be of different tiers/price points
Affected masterminds: Aristocrat, Greed, Cash Out, Castle, Cartel, Champion, Lock-In (before auto-selection), Stash, Fiesta, Saboteur, Kingsguard, Miner, and Scrapper.
Redraw
Redraw gold cost reduced by 4.5% on average
Low pick rate and win rate, and indirectly nerfed by the mastermind roll changes (other masterminds are buffed).
Black Market
Income: 58 --> 60
Low win rate.
Executioner
Execution threshold: 14% (7% for ranged) --> 15% (7.5% for ranged)
Slightly low pick rate and win rate.
Investment
Income: 30 --> 31
Loan
Income penalty: -30 --> -31
Shifting power from Loan to Investment.
Sacrifice
Gold: 90 --> 88
Slightly high pick rate and win rate.
Smite
Gold: 80 --> 78
Slightly high pick rate and win rate.
Vampire
Lifesteal and ability vamp: 30% --> 29%
Slightly high pick rate and win rate.
Dwarf Banker / Big Wig
Attack speed increased by 2%
Low pick rate and win rate.
Crab Warlock / Crabomancer
Summoner damage increased by 2.5%
Slightly low pick rate and win rate.
Lost Chieftain
Gaia Shield: Health: 1500 --> 1550
Slightly low pick rate and win rate.
Elite Archer / Trinity Archer
Attack speed increased by 1.6%
Slightly low pick rate and win rate.
Pipsqueak
Health decreased by 2.7%
Too safe and consistent as an opening.
Pulsebot / Skybot
Health increased by 2%
Slightly low pick rate and win rate.
Banana Haven
Thorns: Reflect damage: 20 + 15% --> 19 + 15%
Slightly high pick rate and win rate.
Sovereign
Now flying and can be buffed by Leviathan
Shoutout to Reze, a.k.a. SovFlyingWhen.
Millennium / Doomsday Machine
Attack speed decreased by 1.9%
Slightly high pick rate and win rate.
Witch
Damage increased by 3.6%
Compensation buff for the change to Froggo bounty.
Kraken
World Ender: Now also stuns the king for 0.2 seconds.
The dev team is constantly monitoring game balance, between looking at data and listening to community feedback. If anything is being more closely monitored than usual, it will be listed in this Balance Watchlist section. For this patch, the following are on the watchlist:
Strong: Saboteur, Miner, Kingsguard, Sea Serpent
Weak: Infiltrator, Radiant Halo, Ocean Templar
Fixed some false positives with the full eco penalty
Selecting multiple units now shows the combined sell gold on the sell button (thanks to Valas for the suggestion)
Selecting multiple units with different sell abilities now sells them all at once, rather than only the ones with the same sell ability as the initially selected unit.
Added a timer for when Wave 1 starts in the Mastermind selection screen (thanks to Valas for the suggestion)
Added Ability range circles for King Claw, Honeybear, Kraken and Violet (thanks to Valas for the suggestion)
Fixed some UI bugs with Miner and Recommended Value
Enabled Game Coach emojis for players with the Big Wig Pass (thanks to Bleeding for the report)
Fixed some cases of mercenaries pathing differently (going unexpectedly right/left) depending on lane (#enemylaneaggro)
Fixed a bug causing the Wave 5 boss to waste a lot of time walking against Serpent/Deepcoiler-only boards
See "shifted" (not used) resources per wave in the Post Game Builds when hovering the Net Worth of a player
