We have added the option to adjust time of day and weather type in Endless Mode, for both Classic and Season's Greetings! Do you enjoy driving around at night time, tour the lake at golden hour, or are you more of a morning person? Are you partial to a slight drizzle, lots of sunshine, or perhaps prefer a good old thunderstorm? Or do you want to keep things festive with full-blown snowy vistas all day long? Just go to the Gameplay Settings menu in Endless Mode, and enjoy a mail delivery session in your favorite time and weather. Let it it snow, let it rain, let it shine! From all of us at Gamious, Happy Holidays!

A brand-new, highly asked-for feature has been added to Lake — you can now pet the cats that are lounging around Mildred’s home! Just like in real life, each cat is different and has their own unique response, so it’s up to you to determine how to earn their trust so you can give them all the pets… and maybe even that ever-elusive belly rub. Meredith can pet the cats in Lake Classic as well as Classic Endless Mode. Cats don’t really like the snow, you see. Who can blame them? Maybe Thomas... ;)

Fixed traffic jams. Cars will no longer wait infinitely.
Fixed endless mode ring and knock animation issues for several addresses.
Fixed tree draw distance issue. Trees will now correctly render across the Lake.

The people have spoken and they have spoken clearly! We weren't indifferent to the many requests for an endless mode, and were delighted to eventually put it on our to-do list as the next task to work on. So, here it finally is: Endless mode! If you can't get enough of driving around your favorite little laketown, get ready to deliver mail ad infinitum! And just to manage your expectations: there will be no stories or new dialogues, or any other mail carrier comedy-drama. Just a never-ending cycle of playable days with randomized delivery lists to fulfil at your own convenience. Endless mode is available for both Lake Classic and Season's Greetings environments. So start up Lake, hop in the mail truck, turn on the radio, and get cranking. Neither snow nor rain... as Frank Coleman would say: the mail doesn't deliver itself!

Fix "Ring doorbell" shown incorrectly when package can be dropped.

Updated Vsync and Window mode settings. Fullscreen should now be exclusive fullscreen. Vsync and refresh rate should be applied correctly again.
Fixed car horn only usable once.
Lots of smaller audio related fixes. Hopefully the problem is solved, if not a lot less frequent.

If you do still encounter any audio issues, please let us know. Here are some things you can try that might help:

Changing the priority and affinity of the executable through the Task Manager might help resolve audio issues in some cases.
Enable or disable Vsync and try limiting your framerate. Several players have reported the problem occurs (more often) on higher frame rates. This might help reduce the issue.
Please try to enable or disable exclusive mode via the properties of your audio device through Windows ("Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device"). This has been reported to solve the issue in some rare cases.

Fixed phone ringing audio missing in classic.
Several smaller technical improvements and changes to help track down the audio issue(s).
Politely asked Frank to leave the Weiss residence during the evening, he can no longer be seen in the kitchen.
Fixed random strange camera shots during Nancy scenes.
Fixed bug where Beth is not spawning at her store
Fixed bug where Frank is looking away during scene at the shed.
Corrected a branching error in the scene where Frank is hiding behind the counter.
Updated demo build.
Fixed Demo saves cloud saving and several other small fixes. Hopefully all saves can be played again, if not make sure to let us know!

Fixed autopilot audio missing.
Fixed 400 E Lakeview Blvd incorrect position.
Fixed tutorial not stopping correctly resulting in a performance drop.
Several smaller technical fixes.

Thank you all for playing! This small hotfix contains several smaller bugfixes and some audio changes to hopefully narrow down the reported issues. We are working hard to solve any remaining issues. It would help us a lot if you could provide us with some more info. If possible, please share at least some of the following info when encountering issues:

Player logs. These can be found at C:\Users\< your username here > \AppData\LocalLow\Gamious\Lake\Player.log You can also use Windows Key + R and enter %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Gamious\Lake\ Easiest way to share is via either pastebin , filebin or a similar website. Alternatively you can upload the file somewhere and provide us with a link to download. Third option is to email us via [email protected]
DxDiag info (especially the Audio section). You can get this info by using Windows Key + R and enter "DxDiag" in the box that appears. We're most interested in the audio tab(s). You can export all information as a text file or send us screenshots. Any additional info you can provide about your audio setup would also help.
Do you have any other (relevant) software running at the same time? Any info you can think of would help us narrow down and reproduce the issue.

Christmas came early this year! Grab a nice cup of cocoa and your favorite blanket, and jump right into the winter wonderland of Providence Oaks today! In Season’s Greetings, a prequel DLC to Lake, you’ll be transported back to beautiful Providence Oaks during the snowy waning days of 1985. Step into the shoes of Thomas Weiss, almost-retired postal worker and father to Lake’s protagonist Meredith. Delivering the mail is only half the story, as Thomas meets and helps out both old friends and new arrivals. How happy will their holidays be? Can everyone in Providence Oaks end 1985 with a bang? Once again, it’s up to you. To celebrate the launch of Season's Greetings, Lake will have a 60% discount (starting Wednesday, November 15 at 10 AM PST, ending Tuesday, November 21 at 10 AM PST). PS: This might get snowed under a bit (badum-tish!), but we have added Steam Cloud Saves to Lake. This allows you to synchronize your saves to another device. The option should be enabled by default, and can be manually disabled via Properties > General. If you do not have this option, please check that cloud saving is enabled via Steam Settings. If you have any issues please post them in the Bugs section on the Lake Steam discussion board.

Lake - Season's Greetings has a release date! November 15 is the day when you can start delivering mail in our snow-covered little laketown. Check out our new trailer to get in the holiday season mood!

We're super happy to announce 'Season's Greetings', in which we return to our cozy little laketown Providence Oaks! You might wonder how Lake's story could continue with all the different endings it offered. Well, we were wondering the same, and that's why Season's Greetings is not a sequel, but a prequel! It's December 23, 1985, eight months before Meredith returns to Providence Oaks. You take on the role of her father, Thomas, and will be delivering the mail like he's been doing for years. We don't want to spoil too much, but what we can say is:

It's the final days of the year, so expect Holiday Season happenings!
P.O. will be covered in a blanket of snow, and cheered up with lots of Christmas lighting.
Meet new characters, but you'll of course also see lots of familiar faces.
Nancy will be complaining.
Frank might be betting on sports.
Mildred could need your help.
Maureen will definitely yell to the kitchen.
And Jack's playlist will also have Christmas tunes! But it might still be a bit short. ;)

This is a small patch that includes a few minor changes. After this update we will nog longer support Windows 8, as Microsoft has also ended support for it on January 10, 2023 Changes:

Credits update. Added missing entries and fixed scrolling issue.
Crash in main menu fixed. This was an issue that happened on most Windows 8 and 8.1 devices. A few clever users have solved this on their own by removing or renaming the file. We have now implemented a fix for this so you no longer have to tinker with the files to get the game running.
Windows 8 no longer supported. The game will still be playable on Windows 8, but we will no longer offer support for Windows 8 specific issues.
Fixed a localisation issue where English text would be displayed when another language is selected.
We're still looking for a solution to the pesky audio bug.

Dear mail carriers! We're happy to share the news that Lake now has its own plushies! Together with Makeship, we've created one of Meredith and one of the mail truck (Goose for friends). Lake lovers, listen up! The Steam Awards 2021 have kicked off, and the coming weeks will decide which games will get nonimated. It won't actually be the weeks that decide the nominations, but the players! So, if you feel that Lake should have a chance to win the 'Sit Back and Relax' Award, we'd be very happy if you took the time to nominate us. Thank you much!

Changes:

Skip dialogue line: if you're replaying the game and don't want to listen to every single spoken sentence again, switch on this option in the Settings -> Language menu. Off by default.
Robert: is referred to as 'Robert' after meeting him in all cases now instead of 'Lumberjack'. Sorry about that, Mr. Harris.
Ghostblasters: Lori now reliably responds correctly when you get a highscore.
Jack: fixed a few face animations that kept him from blinking.
Angie: a conversation with her in week 2 no longer breaks when your friendship level with her is low.
Maureen: no longer pops off screen suddenly in a diner scene with Meredith and Robert.
Parcel models: various larger packages have been rotated a little to better fit into Meredith's hands.
Motel: moved a certain parked car to prevent Auto Pilot from crashing the mail truck into said car.
Motel: removed a certain floating easter egg.
Autopilot: fixed a few cases where the autopilot would not move. If you still experience issues using the autopilot, please let us know! If possible, include a start/end location to help us narrow down the issue.

Fixed: Localization issues.
Fixed: Large & overlapping fonts for all languages have been brought back to normal size.
Fixed: Situation where Meredith would make a phone call while holding another object (Sorry Mortimer!).
Fixed: Opening Steam-Overlay prevents player from interacting when returning to the game.
Fixed: Several cases where engine audio was noticeable when it should not have been.

Fixed: the Fast Travel feature would sometimes explode when the mail truck was already on Auto Pilot. Added extra checks resulting in much safer journeys.
Fixed: when setting a course using the Auto Pilot feature, opening the map while the loading screen was active would pause the game. No longer possible.
Fixed: on low framerates, the camera would move frantically all the time when walking around as Meredith. The camera found inner peace again.
Fixed: when playing GhostBlasters for the first time, the tutorial would somtimes stay on-screen even when you stopped playing. Now disappears and resets properly.

Fixed black camera pictures! Finally admire your snapshots in all their glory. (Any pictures that are still black are definitely Nancy's fault.)
Fixed the seemingly random teleport bug on Friday September 12! Poor Meredith was sometimes hurled across time and space to Robert's home, without her trusty mail truck. Not anymore!

A few changes in late game dialogue branching, improving the clarity and gameflow, as well as updated sound implementation, and several technical improvements.

Changes:

Updated sound implementation, hopefully fixing certain reported issues.
Minor technical improvements.
Reduced the number of options to give the RV to Angie during the Open Mic Night, thereby hopefully reducing the perceived importance of that option.
Added the option in the finale to choose the RV ending even when Angie has it in her possession. This felt like a better fit after the conversation that came before it.

Invert Y axis setting applied to photocamera controls.
Update Input Plugin (Should fix several controller issues). TIP: Try turning on or off Steam Input -> Lake > Properties > Controller > Enable/Disable Steam Input. Also try turning on/off the controller support in Controller General Settings (Steam).
Achievement (final choice Robert) fixed.
Azerty detection fixed. Formerly it would detect a qwerty keyboard as azerty. This should now be fixed.
Tech detail. Now using new Unity Input API.

Dear mail carriers, Just a quick message from the dev team! We're very happy with yesterday's launch and want to thank you all for your support and feedback! We're aware that we still need to look at some issues, and we're currently hard at work trying to resolve them as soon as possible. We've also had lots of questions about Lake's soundtrack.
