- Fixed issue with mole dialogue that would lock the player in the “got item” animation
- Fixed issue with Black & White TV cutscene not starting If you like Kingdom of Night, please consider giving it a review! As always, thank you everyone for all of your feedback!

Steam Community Items are now available! Players can now collect Trading Cards, unlock Profile Backgrounds, and use Emoticons to show off their journey through Miami’s demon-infested streets.
We’ll continue refining the experience as players go deeper into the night. As always, thank you for your support. And stay tuned, there’s more to come!
As we mentioned in the previous update, the game supports downloading fan translations from Steam Workshop. https://steamcommunity.com/app/1094600/workshop/ It is now possible to upload translations to Steam Workshop directly using a special UI in the main menu of the game. For more details see the pinned discussion post. https://steamcommunity.com/app/1094600/discussions/0/690869123373083060/ While the main goal of this system is to translate the game into other languages, you are more than welcome to modify the game's text in other ways and upload it. I have a few funny ideas myself. If you have other ideas for things we could customize with Steam Workshop, please let us know! Other notable changes since the last update:
Enemy spawners no longer reset on scene changes so once you’ve defeated enemies they won’t respawn until 10 minutes of game time has passed.
Made the locust junkyard maze significantly smaller and simpler with better loot
Added “Resolution” option to the options menu.
Fixed issue where players get stuck behind an invisible wall after the Pazuzu chase scene.
Fixed issue where a broken 3rd player can be spawned in remote play.
Fixed bugs that would be a spoiler to explain.
Updated minimaps that didn’t reflect changes to the level.
Decreased vision range for sneak mission Golken soldiers
We are still considering other suggested map/gameplay changes. Thank you everyone for all of your feedback!
Lunar New Year is here! The latest Kingdom of Night update will add both Traditional and Simplified Chinese official localization, allowing more players to venture into Miami on a fateful night in 1987!
Take control of John as he sets out into the night to fight back against the demonic invasion of his neighborhood, as his adventure leads him through an hour-by-hour experience what could be everyone's last night on Earth.

And...!

For some magic spells, while holding the cast button, the targeting circle will follow the mouse cursor, and when you release the cast button, the spell will be cast at that location. To enable playing the game with one hand on the keyboard and one hand on the mouse we have added several new control bindings: For Melee:
Left Click: Attack
Right Click: Dodge
For Magic:
Left Click: Cast
Mouse Side button 1 or Keyboard 1: Magic Element 1
Mouse Side button 2 or Keyboard 2: Magic Element 2
Right Click or Keyboard 3: Magic Element 3
Mouse Wheel: Scroll through all 10 spells in the order from the spell book. We look forward to hearing your feedback on this feature so we can continue to improve it! The mouse bindings are currently not editable, but we will look into it if there is sufficient interest. The mouse does not yet work in the UI of the game.

Hey there denizens of the night!
HUGE thank you to everyone who’s been playing Kingdom of Night and taking the time to share feedback. We’re actively reading what players are saying and thinking about how to address the issues and suggestions that have come up.
Today though, we also want to take a moment to give credit to our artist, Rica Diaz, who created the key art for the game.
Together, we went through many different iterations to find the right look. And in the end, both the developers and us felt this one was just the right fit.
Thanks again, Rica!
Rica does a lot of cool fan art and game art so be sure to give her a follow and check out her work!

Stay tuned for more news and updates about Kingdom of Night!
We made it! Kingdom of Night is officially out now on Steam!
Perfect timing if you've just finished the first wave of Stranger Things Season 5 and looking for more supernatural horror in retro suburbia. The launch trailer showcases Kingdom of Night's demon-slaying combat, class-based customization, and eerie, small-town mystery, arriving just in time for fans hungry for more otherworldly thrills.
It’s been a long road since development started in 2019, and we want to thank everyone who has supported the game along the way!
If you're new the game, Kingdom of Night is a dark, nostalgic action-RPG set in the remote town of Miami, Arizona, where cosmic forces invade everyday teenage life. Featuring open-ended exploration, five playable classes, skill customization, tons of loot, and local co-op, the game blends dynamic action with a coming-of-age story steeped in friendship, fantasy and horror.
In the launch trailer, we showcase the most comprehensive look yet at the game’s evil-infested streets, monster lairs and story-driven encounters, setting the tone for an 80s horror adventure that fans of supernatural small-town tales will feel right at home in (we hope!)
Note on Old Save Data:
The main game uses the same save file as was made in development build and demo.
If your save data or demo save is older than November 10th, it is possible that there will be bugs trying to use it with the latest build of the game, in which case you will have to make a new save. Thanks for understanding!
Spell Input System Optimization
It is now possible to select magic spells using fewer button presses. If you enter 1 or 2 runes and the press the cast button, it will autocomplete the spell by repeating the last rune.
For example: A becomes AAA or AB becomes ABB
You can still enter spells by entering the full 3 rune combo, but as you get used to the game you can start using the autocomplete to select spells faster.
Boss Balancing
We made the Werewolf boss slightly easier compared to what was in the original demo.
The other bosses have been adjusted in various other ways in response to feedback.
Melee Target Changing
It's now possible to target a new enemy between melee swings. Before you couldn't change direction until you stopped attacking completely.
Localization
Kingdom of Night is launching in English, with Traditional and Simplified Chinese coming soon. We'd love to localize the game in other languages if enough interest is shown. So please let us know!
And don't forget to tell a friend about the game and leave a review if you like Kingdom of Night!
Thank you!
Kingdom of Night launches on December 2, 2025!
A brand-new release date trailer has dropped, showcasing a flood of never-before-seen gameplay, from infernal boss battles and neon-lit streets, to haunting glimpses of the cult-driven chaos overtaking Miami, Arizona.
The trailer also features an original theme song composed by none other than Vince DiCola, the legendary 1980s composer behind Transformers: The Movie and Rocky IV.
Set in an alternate 1987 in the quiet desert town of Miami, Arizona, Kingdom of Night follows John, a teenager who wakes to find his neighbor kidnapped by a satanic cult that has inadvertently unleashed the ancient evil Baphomet upon his hometown, turning it into a hellish invasion.
What begins as a desperate rescue mission quickly escalates into a cosmic battle for survival, as John must fight nightmarish demons, corrupted townsfolk, and high school bullies turned monstrous. Over the course of a single, harrowing night, he must infiltrate the lairs of powerful demon generals and rally the strength to confront Baphomet’s looming fortress, discovering that the fate of his friends, and perhaps the entire world, hangs in the balance.
A demo for Kingdom of Night is currently available on Steam, offering a full vertical slice of the coming-of-age adventure.
You may have heard about the recent Unity security vulnerability that was discovered. We just released a new version of the demo where the vulnerability has been patched.
Developer Friends of Safety and publisher DANGEN Entertainment are excited to announce that the first public demo of Kingdom of Night is now live on Steam as of 7:00 AM Pacific Time, September 23, 2025.
The demo offers players a full vertical slice of the game, delivering an authentic taste of the action-RPG’s mix of coming-of-age drama, cosmic horror, and 1980s nostalgia. With an average completion time of around 1.5 hours, the demo gives fans freedom to explore, experiment, and soak in the dark streets of Miami, Arizona.
Here’s what players can expect in the demo:
A complete slice of Kingdom of Night, straight from the full game.
Five classes to experiment with: Barbarian, Knight, Rogue, Necromancer, or Sorcerer.
A cast of iconic characters who will play key roles later in the story.
Freedom to roam the streets of Miami at their own pace, with save slots included (though demo saves will not carry over into the full release).
The demo drops players right into the demon-infested streets of Miami to see what makes Kingdom of Night a ride worth remembering.
The full release of Kingdom of Night on PC is planned for Q4 2025. Please stay tuned for an exact date announcement. Console versions to be announced at a later date.

Did you notice the new key art? Things are happening!
Hey there!
It's been a while since our last update, and we have a lot to share--from an upcoming demo, Steam Next Fest, and a potential release, to next steps and physical fulfillment for our Kickstarter backers from many full moons ago!
It's that time of year again, and now we're gearing up to share Kingdom of Night with the world in the upcoming Steam Next Fest. In preparation, we have new promo art and have polished up some early gameplay to share in a demo that will launch very soon!
The demo covers the prologue events of the game all the way up to the first major boss enemy, so there's a lot to go through from beginning to end! Please note: the demo may be long, but save files will not carry over into the full version of the game. We strongly recommend playing for as long or as little as you like with that in mind!
Heck yeah it is! We're finally approaching a tentative release window for Kingdom of Night. While the exact date isn't yet set in stone just yet, we can hint that at a Q4 2025 release date for PC.
Then be sure to check out our most recent Kickstarter update for more information on the fulfilment side of things, and if you have any questions, you can reach out to us there or via our Discord server!
