This update addresses issues reported by Steam Deck users to improve the overall Steam Deck experience and compatibility.

Changes:

• Fixed Steam Deck input compatibility issues.

• Improved Steam Deck controller prompt detection.

It's been two weeks since Kamilia launched, and I'd like to thank everyone who has played the game,

shared feedback, reported bugs, and left a review.

Your feedback has been incredibly helpful and has already led to a number of improvements in this new patch.

Highlights

• Current objective is now displayed and updated in the menu/pause screen.

• Added the ability to open the menu/pause during dialogues (highly requested feature).

• Fixed a bug that prevented a specific achievement from unlocking.

• Multiple dialogue refinements.

• Multiple grammar and typo fixes.

• Improved dialogue pacing in several scenes.

• The "Easy Mode" option during the chase sequence is now offered after multiple failed attempts at several checkpoints, rather than after every attempt.

• Minor environmental polish (door title labels have been removed based on player feedback).

• Various quality-of-life improvements and stability fixes.

Thank you again for your continued support. I'll continue listening to your feedback and improving Kamilia over time.

A new significant demo update is now live, bringing several improvements and refinements.

What was added and improved:

• Options menu upgrade, including:

  • Brightness slider

  • Vignette effect toggle

  • Restore Defaults option

• Numerous environmental animations to enhance atmosphere

• Level design updates to the “House Tour” level (doors and walls touch-ups)

• Thorough grammar polish and dialogue flow revisions

• Minor quality-of-life fixes

Thank you so much for supporting Kamilia — whether by wishlisting the game, playing the demo, or simply following the project. It means a great deal.

After thoughtful consideration, the release of Kamilia is being rescheduled,

from Q4 2025 to Q2 2026.

Below are more details about the delay, along with a special reveal—

Why the Delay?

Kamilia is based on a novel written over a decade ago. Early in development, the plan was to adapt only the main parts of the original story.

But as development progressed, it became clear that many of those character-driven moments carried too much meaning to be left out.

Therefore, it was recently decided to include the full story as it was originally told, in order to create the complete emotional experience.

The additional time will also allow for some early chapters to be revisited and polished further.

A Small Reveal 🤫

As a small token of gratitude for your patience, here’s something never shared before: As stated on the Steam page, the game will have multiple endings, but here’s a more specific detail -

Kamilia will feature FOUR different endings,

along with different endings for some of the side characters.

What’s new in Patch 0.96:

• Puzzle clues are now stored in the item menu, same as evidence.

• Retouched images for evidence in Robin’s notebook.

• Audio-only scenes now include captions (for accessibility).

• An extra item can be found by solving the drawer combination.

• Dialogue and grammar improvements.

• Minor quality-of-life updates.
