We have been absolutely blown away by the response to It Has My Face. The tension, the chaos, the heart-pounding moments of nearly escaping your own clone... it has been incredible to see so many of you experiencing it and sharing your hunt. Seeing the community grow and reading all the positive feedback genuinely keeps us going. Thank you. Now let's talk about what's new.

New: Daily Challenges

On top of the existing Invasion mode we are introducing Daily Challenges, a brand new way to play It Has My Face every single day.

Each day a new randomized run is generated specifically for that day. Many parameters and mutators are randomized and can reach wildly different values from what you might be used to. Some days will feel manageable. Other days will feel completely unhinged. And occasionally you will encounter anomalies, which are exaggerated effects where certain parameters go far beyond their normal range and turn the whole run into something special.

A few important things to know:

• You can only attempt the daily challenge once per day

• We track your streaks so you can see how consistent you have been

• You do not need to win the run to keep your streak. As long as you play that day your streak stays alive

It is a great way to stay sharp and see how your skills hold up against whatever the day throws at you.

We have a new achievement with this mode!

Since this is a new achievement, if you've gotten the "The Completionist" achievement, you will lose it until you unlock this achievement as well. But it's a pretty straightforward achievement and not that hard to get.

New: Screen Effects

This one has been sitting in the back of my head for a long time. I really wanted to add a pixelation filter to the game ever since Early Access and now it is finally here. You can now experience It Has My Face in a delightfully old-school way and try to find your clone in even fewer pixels than before. And if pixelation is not unsettling enough there is also a VHS option for a grainy old-movie look that adds a whole new layer of dread.

We have three new visual styles to choose from:

Pixelated

Pixelated V2 (more pixels)

VHS

Head into the settings and give them a try. They work entirely as optional overlays so you can switch back anytime.

• Now if you've unlocked invasion mode and daily challenges, they stay unlocked (if you've unlocked them before this update, you need to finish the game again)

• Fixed dialogue screen pressing continue skipping the typewriter and closing the dialogue if it's the last line

• Now main menu after story the NPC in front don't activate but instead 3 new monster spawn in the background

We got a new patch! Finally a fix for the watcher sequence at the end.

• Fixed watcher sequence being stuck while playing on Low Graphics setting or Blood effects are disabled

• Null reference error is fixed in consume behaviour

• Added MainTex texture to clone pods shader (so unity can stop complaining)

• Fixed elevator button being interactable after already been interacted

• Fixed Chapter 8 door being interactable even though it's unlocked

• Now save file and player pref data is being logged inside Player.log

• New system for zipping necessary logs and opening the correct folder so it’s easier to send logs to devs

We got a new patch! Fixes to bugs caught by players. These bugs were located near the end of the game so *spoiler warning*

Changelog:

• Fixed getting softlocked during watcher sequence when your knife gets broken

• Added a failsafe that continues the watcher sequence if player hasn't stabbed them in 60 seconds

• Fix result screen continue button not appearing when awakening mutator is set to “do not age”

• Controller sensitivity option now goes up to 200 instead of 100

• Now game ignores resolution setting when game is windowed. Added support for "MaximizedWindow" fullScreen mode

• It can't be explicitly set, but when set by the user (via maximizing a window with OS), it should be respected by the game. When that mode is toggled, resolution seems to be forced by the OS so we don't apply that either.

• Refactored Cursor code to fix the flickering issue

• Fix chapter 7 spawn bug causing misaligned story sequence and being locked out of the chapter area

• Fixed for long neck generating null errors while blood effects is disabled

• Fixed a spot where you can get stuck in the last chapter area

Since launching in Early Access last September, IT HAS MY FACE has evolved significantly. With version 1.0 officially releasing tomorrow morning at 10 am (EST), we wanted to give you a clear breakdown of everything that’s changed, so you know exactly what to expect when diving into the final version of the game.  

Early Access showcased the core concept and heart of IT HAS MY FACE: its eerie story chapters, mutators, core gameplay loop, challenges, and the first version of multiplayer. With the full release, we’ve completed that vision. Version 1.0 represents the game we set out to make from the beginning.  

So… what’s new?  

Multiplayer was one of the most requested features since the launch of our demo. As soon as players discovered the core concept, many immediately saw its multiplayer potential, and they were right! 

During Early Access, multiplayer was limited to a 1v1 experience. For 1.0, after hearing everyone's feedback, we’ve expanded it. 

What’s New: 

• Up to 8 players per match 

• Two brand‑new multiplayer modes: Free For All and Team Deathmatch 

• Public matchmaking (quick play): Host or join public multiplayer matches, jump into random matches anytime, or connect to a specific lobby by being friends with the host. 

• Mutators in multiplayer: a total of 18 mutators (new and old) have been added to enhance your multiplayer experience 

• More customizable match settings: adjust round length (or disable timers entirely), and control mutator frequency. 

• Multiplayer badges:  earn points by winning rounds to level up your badge, which other players can see. 

• Spectator Mode: After you are eliminated, you can freely spectate or follow the perspective of other players.

Multiplayer Modes: 

• Free For All : Everyone for themselves. Every other player looks identical to you. Your goal? Be the last surviving clone. This mode is chaotic, tense, and surprisingly strategic. 

• Team Deathmatch : Work together. Teams are fully customizable: make them symmetrical or asymmetrical (you can even select “no team” and fight solo against other teams). Coordination, deception, and identity confusion take on a whole new meaning when you’re fighting alongside your clones. 

Since early access, we've been overwhelmed with how invested players are in the story. From Agent G, to the monsters, to NPC lives and theories, it’s been incredible watching the community interact with this world. 

What’s New: 

• Two brand‑new story chapters These chapters conclude the narrative and provide closure, revealing a darker, more doomed side of the world, with three different endings shaped by your choices.   

• A final boss fight For 1.0, we added a climactic "boss" encounter that puts everything you’ve learned to the test. We believe this is the ultimate narrative and gameplay payoff. 

Mutators are a core pillar of IT HAS MY FACE. They ensure that every round feels unpredictable and tense. 

A lot of you asked if we would be adding more, and the answer is yes. 

What’s New: 

• Additional mutators designed to increase tension and fear 

• JammedWeapons: Ranged weapons may jam instead of firing. 

• FoggyMirror: The mirror gets foggier the longer it stays raised. 

• HeartBomb: A bar builds up when the player doesn’t move. When the bar is filled, the player explodes. 

• BombTraps: Laser traps are placed in doors between sections that drop bombs when triggered. 

• UnstableTech: A bar builds up over time. When it is filled, player teleports to a random position on the map. 

• SlowDraw: It takes longer to raise the weapons. 

• FastWalkers: Everyone except the clone and the player move faster. 

• BlackAndWhite: A black and white filter is applied to the world. 

• WinterCold: Burn barrels are spawned around. Player will get cold and slow down if they don't heat themselves with barrels. 

• EverythingIllegal: Every weapon is now illegal. 

• SerialKiller: You must kill someone to reset to urge. If urge is filled, you’re stuck aiming your weapon. 

• Built around how players actually interacted with the game during Early Access 

• A stronger emphasis on uncertainty, panic, and adaptation 

Each round should now feel even more distinct, unsettling, and dangerous. 

Monsters play a huge role in both the horror and the narrative, so expanding them for 1.0 was essential. 

What’s New: 

• 3 new monstrous behaviours 

• Tentacle‑based attacks, zombie-like behavior, and more 

• Experience the apocalypse first hand with the beginning of the Awakening 

• Greater unpredictability and escalation during encounters 

To fully bring this dystopian world to life, we’ve expanded the environments you’ll explore. 

What’s New: 

• 3 new sections, including a food court, an infirmary, and additional locations that deepen the game’s environmental storytelling 

• Props and layouts designed to heighten unease and immersion 

• 4 of our existing maps have been reworked with added detail to create a more immersive atmosphere. 

This 1.0 release wouldn’t exist without the community. Your feedback throughout Early Access helped shape the game at every level.

That's right! On April 3rd IT HAS MY FACE 1.0 will be available to purchase. If you already picked it up in Early Access, you’ll be able to jump into the full version the moment it releases :)

So what’s waiting for you in 1.0?

• Two new multiplayer modes: Team Deathmatch and Free For All

• Play with up to 8 players! All clones, all ready to kill each other

• Experience the awakening first hand and survive the apocalypse

Hey Everyone!!

Thanks for all the love you've shown our last milestone sneak peek Free For All, we cannot wait for you guys to play it. This week we are showing off yet another multiplayer mode coming to IT HAS MY FACE in 1.0: Team Deathmatch.

Team Deathmatch is a brand new multiplayer mode where you can play a game with up to 8 friends but this time in teams. You can do any teams you want (1v2, 3v3v2, 2v6, 2v2v3...), and for the brave ones, you can even pick "no team" where you will be reeking havoc on everyone.

It will look slightly different to Free For All because you will be spawning next to your teammates. In order to decipher who's on your team and who's not, you'll be able to see your teammates names floating above their heads. This version opens up exciting new strategic paths, and we can’t wait to see how you explore them!

Additionally, we've listened to your feedback and we are happy to announce that you will get the opportunity to host/join public matches! Meaning you'll be able to join a "quick match" which will automatically add you to a lobby if there's one open, if there's none, you'll be hosting one and waiting for others to join. But don't worry, private lobbies will still be available :)

Similarly to what we did for Free For All, we’ve reached out to a couple creators who have supported IT HAS MY FACE, and have given them exclusive keys for Team Deathmatch and will be streaming it this coming week!

We’ve been looking forward to this moment for a long time, and we’re thrilled to finally share with you one of the multiplayer modes that will be in 1.0! You’ve been super clear about what you wanted from multiplayer, and we’ve been working hard behind the scenes to make it happen. Now we can finally talk about it!

Free For All is a brand‑new multiplayer mode where every player has to fend for themselves. Previously, multiplayer only supported 2 players, but in 1.0, you’ll be able to jump in with up to 8 players!

You’ll be able to customize:

• Time limits (even disable time limits if you wish to!)

• And yes… mutators are coming to multiplayer too, and you'll be able to adjust their frequency in your lobby settings!

Free For All has been so much fun to work on, and we’re excited to finally give you a peek at what it will look like in 1.0.

We’ve also reached out to a couple creators who have supported IT HAS MY FACE since early access. They now have exclusive keys for Free For All and will be streaming it this coming week!

• Added a new Sprint Toggle in the Options

• Fixed the bug where upgrades applying indefinitely if you drop your weapon and pick up it 

• Require at least 2 other sections for exploration mission to be picked

• Improved the KillDistanceClose optional mission detection accuracy

• Fixed dash upgrade working only once in the Lab

• Added new invisible boxes to outside acid area in the AcidPool Section so players can get out of the acid

• No Chance Left system improvements. Now it’ll trigger correctly and won’t trigger in certain situations

• Now in multiplayer, if player drops through the map multiple times, it’ll teleport them in a random location instead of trying to reload the world.

• Fixed Players don't get the "complete all achievements" achievement after the game gives them the 200 kill achievement

New patch is out! New QoL changes and bug fixes

Changelog:

• Save game process is now safer. It won’t crash the game and it’ll quietly throw an error instead and won’t block game flow

• Health blobs now cannot be collected if player is dead

• Now cannibals always create bite graphics even without the mutator being active

• Fixed pressing sprint while standing still increasing fov bug

• Now hair stylist quirk will change mutator twin hair styles as well

• Now recordings will spawn in a random but accessible location instead of near player

• Fixed invasion door animation being played when player leaves it’s trigger

• Reduced last clone kill achievement threshold to 200

• Fixed water making players slow down too much bug

KNOWN ISSUES (We're investigating these issues and most likely going to release a hotfix):

• Players don't get the "complete all achievements" achievement after the game gives them the 200 kill achievement

Hey everyone!

We've removed the "Win A Multiplayer Round" achievement. This was a steam-only achievement that unlocked when you play a multiplayer round and kill the other player. This wasn't inside the game and it was only unlockable in steam.

We did a poll on our Discord channel (join here) and majority of the votes wanted us to remove the achievement.

We saw that many players are looking for other people to get the achievement and we don't want people to go through out-of-game efforts to unlock an achievement.

Removing this won't affect singleplayer experience at all and we still have 36 achievements you can unlock.

It might make a comeback in the future when we have a more improved multiplayer

What’s New:

• Officers Turned Witches: Officers turned to a magical path

• Candy Weapon Boxes: Scattered around the map, these boxes hold either a broom weapon or a pumpkin bomb.

• Pumpkin Bombs: Dynamite is so old school. Toss exploding pumpkins and watch the chaos unfold!

• Broom weapon: Perfect for sweeping the house or clearing the streets of pesky clones.

Hey everyone! Small hotfix for people who are still affected by the achievement bug.

Changelog:

• Fixed achievement synchronization. Now the game synchronizes achievements with steam correctly

• Added synchronization between stored target killed amount and steam-side stored target kill amount

Hey everyone! New patch is out which should adress pain points reported by you. We reduced the effectiveness of clone hints and added a toggle.

As for why we skipped several versions, we did have a few internal ones and things got complicated so we've opted in to update to 0.9.180 directly.

Changelog:

• Added toggle in the options to disable the clone hint system

• Updated zoom tutorial and added a prompt

• Fixed using disguise tool doesn't work against the Turret

• For multiplayer only, officers will drop the chase 30% faster

• Now your story alignment is shown when you raise your mirror after chapter 1 (Red vs Blue)

• Readjusted MP officer count numbers. Now less police should spawn in default (15% -> 10%)

• Doubled the clone hint appear times. Now it waits for 3 minutes for first hint and for subsequent hints, it waits for 1.5 minutes (was 1.5 minutes and 1 minute)

• Adjusted NPC spawn curve. Now human count increasing linearly instead of exponentially with the progress percent.

Hi everyone!

First patch of Early Access is finally here! The most annoying bugged achievements are fixed along with a bunch of fixes:

• Fixed 6th chapter achievement not triggering bug

• Fixed Upgrade achievements not triggering bug

• Related to the above two bugs, chapter and upgrade achievements will be checked when player enters the hub so affected players can still get the achievement

• Removed the space in sable cheat code

• Increased watcher interact distance so players won’t miss it

• Now player spawns inside the mirror room in chapter 2 (instead of outside the chapter doors area)

• Potential fix for NoMirror mutator bug

• Fixed a spot where player can get stuck in the hub

• Added an easter egg influencer
