Good evening, everyone!

How many chapters of the game "Iris Odyssey" have you seen so far?

This time, we are unveiling the "Image Board" that shaped the world view of the story!

In order to create the stills that appear in the game, the art team created an "Image Board" to determine "which scenes" and "how to express them." (Image Board Art by Kibi Dango)

Here is a comparison between the completed version and the image board.

For example, in the scene where Iris adopts Fuka.

In this scene's image board, the confrontation of their relationship is expressed by having Iris and Fuka face each other, but in the completed version, the layout was significantly changed to allow better visibility of the characters' expressions.

Similarly, in the completed version of this still, Iris's expression is prominently depicted, while the dynamic nature of her magic was reinterpreted with a lively composition.

Today, I will introduce the character concept illustrations for Iris and Fuka!

The designs for Iris and Fuka, who symbolize this story, were done by Yutsumoe-sensei.

This is where the visual production of "Iris Odyssey" began✨

Iris is a 22-year-old older sister, while Fuka is a 12-year-old middle school student.

The balance when the two are side by side is of course important,

and Yutsumoe-sensei beautifully completed everything down to the clothing design🎀

【Day 10: Mage Fuka】

Good evening, I’m Nakamoto, the PR and illustrator.

The wallpaper giveaway has reached its 10th installment.

Last time, I discussed Iris's image color, so this time, let's talk about Fuka.

I mentioned before that her image color is purple, and actually, Fuka's name is related to the "anemone" flower.

To get a bit technical,

the name "anemone" seems to derive from the Greek word "anemos," meaning "wind."

The flower of the wind, anemone. That’s how Fuka got her name. (It turns out the director is a fan of Greek mythology, haha.)

The anemone has many meanings, with the significance changing depending on the flower's color.

The meaning of the purple anemone is "I believe in you and will wait."

I had her hold the purple anemone to represent Fuka's steadfast and straightforward nature.

I love having girls hold flowers.

Hello, I'm Nakamoto, the PR and illustrator.

When it comes to spring in Japan, cherry blossoms come to mind. The flowers that bloom after surviving winter are beautiful, but they don’t last long and will eventually fall gracefully.

So, I have Iris holding this fleeting and beloved cherry blossom.

By the way, Iris’s name also means "iris flower," but since Iris's image color is red, it somewhat deviates from the purple of the iris flower.

(I will elaborate more on this in another session, but actually, purple is Kazahana's image color.)

From an illustrator's perspective,

I want to pair Iris's bright hair color with similar bright colors…!!

Light blue, pink, pale yellow, and red.

These four colors are gradually becoming my way of expressing Iris.

Do you all like maid outfits?

Hello, I'm Nakamoto, the PR and illustrator.

Just like the previous internal struggle about whether to put Iris in a swimsuit, I had a similar mysterious conflict this time about whether it was okay to dress Fuka in a maid outfit.

While characters have designated costumes, if they wear something that significantly distorts their image, it could lead to misunderstandings for those getting to know the character for the first time.

However, thinking about it more, characters in anime magazines don't always wear their main outfits, and the covers or title illustrations of manga often feature various outfits based on the author's preferences.

With that in mind, I boldly drew the maid outfit.

This illustration was specially created as a novelty for the February event. Since it's February, the scene depicts Fuka making sweets for someone important to her!

Today's illustration is from the fresh countdown illustration…

Good evening, I'm Nakamoto, the PR and illustrator.

When I usually draw Iris and Kazahana for promotional purposes, I focus on a more analog-like painting style that differs from the main story. However, this time, I unusually (?), used my personal method of coloring that I usually adhere to. It was a lot of fun☺️ The rough noise effect I applied at the end is one of my favorite parts.

Actually, I forgot that Iris was supposed to wear tights under her skirt and ended up drawing her with bare legs…

This is Ota, the director. Since release, we have received several reports from players saying they cannot collect all the "Memory Fragments" or are unsure where they may have missed one. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

On the development side, we are currently considering an additional patch that would make uncollected "Memory Fragments" easier to identify for players. We will share more details as soon as the patch is ready.

As an immediate workaround, we have prepared a spreadsheet that summarizes the acquisition conditions for every "Memory Fragment." Starting today, the full chapters of "Iris Odyssey" are finally available!

In conjunction with the release, we have also decided to hold a launch sale!

This sale will run from today until June 11th (Thursday) at 10:00 AM !

The game has already released the free parts of Chapters 1 and 2,

and now Chapters 3 and 4 will be released.

It's the story of the bond between Fuka and Iris.

Be sure to witness the conclusion!

Story

Fuka, an orphaned girl living in Shibuya, is searching for her only family member, her missing brother Mitsuba. Along her journey, she awakens to her hidden magical powers. Meanwhile, Iris, a seasoned magic investigator, is pursuing a criminal organization of rogue sorcerers known as the Skyseekers. Her investigation leads her to take an interest in this brother and sister duo, who appear to be connected to the group.

As Fuka and Iris grow closer, they come to share a bond like family. Will this bond be enough to shatter the conspiracy that awaits them? Join Fuka and Iris in a modern fantasy adventure filled with destiny, intrigue, and magic in the opening chapter of Iris Odyssey!
