Boss effects no longer persist into normal stages after the boss is beaten.
Boss effects can no longer stack - only one challenge active at a time.
Split Decision: destroyed/broken tiles count as cleared, so the stage can't become unfinishable.
Tunnel Vision: destroyed tiles leave a playable gap, flagged tiles count toward your path, and walls never seal off the last safe tiles.
Shifting Locks: locks never grab the last safe tiles you need to finish, and lock count shrinks at the end of the stage.
Starting a boss before the board finished spawning no longer breaks the challenge.
Recently fought bosses are remembered across save/quit - no instant boss repeats after continuing.
Boss challenges no longer sometimes reappear on a normal stage after loading a save.
Save folder creation could silently fail on some systems, losing runs and settings - fixed.
Permanent upgrades no longer disappear on continue, and one broken upgrade can't corrupt the whole save.
Second Chance: revive on the very last click no longer softlocks on a finished board.
Epic Collector: countrer fixed ("-217/5" coin fountain).
Grimoire: Ancient Secret achievement unlocks when it actually triggers, not on purchase.
Volume and background settings changed from the main menu now actually save.
Screenshake setting no longer silently resets to 0.
Item descriptions no longer sometimes fail to appear in shop/collection.
Tile upgrade button refreshes the tile's description and board limit immediately after upgrading.
Hello everyone!
It has been a bit quiet round these parts, but that's because we've been working on a bunch of bug fixes and reworks for Infinity Sweeper! Do let us know your thoughts and feedback on this update:)
Without any further ado, read on to find out what's new!
The boss timer is gone! Every boss stage now comes with a random Boss Challenge that changes the rules for that stage. You won't see the same challenge twice in a row, and you can hover over the boss level tile to re-read what the active challenge does.
Blackout - every so often, a few revealed tiles get blurred and briefly hide their numbers
Tunnel Vision - you can only click tiles next to ones you've already opened
Split Decision - the right half of the board stays locked until you fully clear the left half
No Defusing - Trap Fixers don't work this stage
Double Strike - enemies deal one extra heart of damage
Exposing Ban - exposing doesn't work this stage
Shifting Locks - random tiles get locked, and the locks keep moving around
Scarred - every heart you lose to an enemy adds a random trap to your collection
Short Circuit - half of your permanent upgrades stop working this stage
Silencer - half of the good tile types on the board stop working this stage
Fixed Can't Stop achievement not unlocking
Fixed Just One More achievement not unlocking
Fixed Mouse Burner achievement not unlocking
Fixed Off The Charts (100k score) achievement never unlocking
Fixed Ninja achievement not unlocking
Fixed Hazard Pay achievement not unlocking
Fixed How Did We Get Here achievement not unlocking
Fixed Luxury Build achievement - now correctly unlocks at 8 tier-3 tiles
Fixed Fancy achievement - now correctly unlocks at 4 tier-3 tiles
Fixed Blurry Vision trap's blur effect sticking around after the tile is destroyed or defused
Fixed Trap Fixers not working on the Blurry Vision trap
Fixed Waste Collector stacking bug
Fixed Kamizkaze stacking bug
Fixed Perfectionist Tile stacking bug
Fixed Mystery Tile always becoming tier 3 when copying another tile - it now copies that tile's actual tier
Fixed unlocked items sometimes still showing as locked in the collection
Fixed a crash on the post-boss reward screen that could happen once you'd collected most or all 30 traps
Fixed Evolve card synergies with certain tiles
Not So Basic Tile now has a board limit of 10
Fixed tier upgrades that jump multiple tiers at once (e.g. Shiny Object going from tier 1 straight to 3) not updating board limits correctly
Fixed Purple Fever only sealing good tiles on reveal - now also seals trap tiles
Fixed Attention Seeker + "No Peace" leaving tiles permanently locked - "No Peace" can now properly unlock and mark a locked tile
Fixed Dead Zone dealing unavoidable damage when an enemy tile sat in its blast radius - those tiles are now removed harmlessly
Fixed CRT filter setting not being remembered between sessions
Fixed the Daily Run screen requiring Escape to go back - the back button now works properly
Fixed getting stuck on the Game Over screen during the tutorial
A level now completes once all enemy tiles are exposed or destroyed, even if good tiles remain unrevealed. (Just flagging them isn't enough - they have to be exposed or destroyed.) When this happens, remaining unrevealed good tiles are auto-revealed, and remaining trap tiles are removed without triggering their effects.
Destroying a tile marked with a purple seal now grants +5 Trap Fixers; destroying a tile marked with a red seal now grants +10 coins. A tile with both seals gives both rewards, and this stacks with the Redder/Purpler permanents.
Added a tile tier upgrade option in the shop: spend coins to upgrade an eligible tile's tier directly (cost scales with tier and price). Traps and tier-3 tiles can't be upgraded.
Removed Wristwatch, Be Safe, Chill, and the Boss Rush trap - they only affected the boss timer, which no longer exists. Old saves that contain them will still load just fine.
Toned down: Resonance, Halving Tile, Dice Tile, Look Here, Insider Tip, Pricy, Why Flag?, Stunt Double, The Unforgiving, Flag Disruption, All Mine, Cross Section (also removed from Daily Runs), and Trap Enthusiast now appear less often, and some can have fewer copies on the board at once.
Buffed: Card Counting, Is It Possible, Health Insurance, Ultrainstinct, Radar, Untrapped, Engineer's Award, Glitch, Inspector, Hieroglyph I, and Blossom now appear more often, and some can have more copies on the board at once.
Hello sweepers!
Hope you've all got a lovely bank holiday weekend ahead!
For this week's edition of Beyond the Grid, we asked the devs: Are there any Easter eggs or references in the game?
Yes, absolutely! There are a bunch of references to other games, as well as general pop culture and memes references!
The oldest one probably was the name of the permanent upgrade: “This ain’t Balatro” (since the genre has been coined Balatro-like), which disables you from using cards.
“Didn’t say Uno” grants you two more cards when you’re down to your last one.
“Kid named Finger” is a reference to a very specific but popular “meme”... And there’s a ton more!
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Were you able to catch any of the other references in the game? Do let us know! And ICYMI there was an update to the game last week
Fixed Mime Tile/Basic Tile interaction
Fixed Starter Kit Permanent
Fixed Mine Count panel while the Glitch trap was active
Fixed false numbers on certain basic tiles
Balanced chances of certain upgrades appearing in shop
This is just the start and the team is working on further updates taking your feedback and reviews into account!
Have a fab weekend folks and we'll see you next week:)
Hey everyone, wanted to give a quick update on our plans for the future of the game. Firstly, thank you so much to everyone who has been submitting feedback and bug reports - please do keep them coming! We're taking into account this feedback and will be working on some things to come in our future updates, here's a sneak peek at a few of them. We'll be looking into
Fixing all known bugs
Improving trap variety in a run
QOL improvements for seals, general gameplay & the shop
Exploring new boss specific traps
We're obviously working on these as fast as we can so stay tuned for the updates! In the meanwhile, feel free to join the Discord and share your runs or other content:)

Welcome sweepers to our first post launch edition of Beyond the Grid!
It's been amazing seeing so many of you pick up a copy and leave us really nice reviews. It really helps motivate all of us here! Oh, and we've hit 50 reviews which means the first giveaway is open over in the Discord!
We're also sitting at Mostly Positive, so thank you all so much! As mentioned before, it really helps us with the Steam algorithm, so if you haven't already, please do leave us a review <3
This week on Beyond the Grid, we asked the devs about their inspirations for the game!
The game at first was intended to be a never-ending expanding board of Minesweeper, the idea for which came from watching a friend play minesweeper levels on his phone. Then after tinkering and testing a bit, we found a loop of clear a grid -> upgrade -> clear a harder grid much more intuitive and fun!
It started off as a little side project and you can peep some early days stuff in this post from 2 years ago - https://x.com/gameslongshot/status/1824344568629805319
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Let us know your highscores here or in the Discord! We've got a dedicated highscores channel to share your records in:)
And I'll just leave this screenshot here from community member Bio, no words needed
Happy sweeping folks! Don't forget to leave a review and tell your friends about the game <3 Catch you next week!

Lastly, go out there and try your hand at Infinity Sweeper! Let us know how far you get and if you enjoy the game, please do leave a review! This is one of the best ways to support us as it lets the Steam algorithm know it's a game worth pushing in front of as many people as possible. This is especially critical on launch day and the days following <3
There are also giveaways planned for the Discord community for review milestones, more details can be found in the announcement in the Discord server!

─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
And on to the Beyond the Grid segment of today's post -
This week, we asked the devs - What is something you have been finding more challenging?
We had to rework the saving system of the game! We would have never found it ourselves, but thanks to one person from the discord community, who managed to get around stage 100, we realized the saving system had a flaw. Because the grids were so huge at those stages, the save files would exceed hundreds of MB of storage… So we had to re-do the entire system.
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
To the Discord community member who made it to stage 100.. I salute you. You are an Infinity Sweeper pro. That is beyond impressive.
And that's all our juicy, exciting news for today! Catch you next week on Beyond the Grid - the next one will be on the other side of launch!
Hello hello and welcome to this week's Beyond the Grid! We're all gearing up over here for launch in just under 2 weeks!
And so, this week, we asked the devs: What's been going well recently?
We’re getting pretty close to release, so most of the work has been small improvements rather than big new features. One thing that made a big difference was improving the readability of exposed enemy tiles! We’ve had complaints about fast-paced gameplay being challenging due to unintuitive colouring of the tiles, so just by tweaking their colours a bit, we made the game look way clearer.
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
We've also had people share their highscores in the Discord, and as someone who is terrible at Minesweeper, I am always in awe. Check out this one by Discord user Kate -

See you next week!
Hello sweepers, welcome back to another week of Beyond the Grid! We've also concluded challenge week, how many of you were able to make it through every day?
This week, we asked the devs to tell us about a feature in the game, here's what they had to say:
The Siblings of course - a trap that makes enemy tiles hold multiple enemies. It’s my favourite trap so far. It changes the logic behind the minesweeper puzzles just enough while remaining solvable (just in a different way)
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Oh how the Siblings have been confounding us! It's no surprise it's the dev's favourite, but wow did it have me looking at my screen baffled at many points. Check out some of the massive numbers below thanks to the Siblings -
And this 15 on the Yogscast Stream, probably easily the biggest number we've seen so far!

And this meme by Discord user Markownik really encapsulates one of this week's daily runs where we encountered both the 3 trap and the Siblings trap 😬

Did you have a favourite (or hated) trap during the challenge week? Do let us know!
Hello Sweepers!
How are you getting on with Challenge Week? Does it tickle your brain?
We're bringing you a new weekly series called Beyond the Grid where we ask the developers of Infinity Sweeper some questions about the game and share them with you! We hope you enjoy these little titbits of information:)
For our very first edition of Beyond the Grid, we asked the devs: What is something that came together easier than you expected?
Daily challenge mode came together pretty nicely! We had no idea how it was gonna turn out and how much we’d have to manipulate the parameters for it to generate a playable and synergic build, but after not much testing the builds it started creating came together really fun! It even made some extremely fun builds we would never have thought of ourselves!
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
That's a great on-topic response for out first Beyond the Grid don't you think? As someone who is terrible at Minesweeper, the challenge mode has been proving, well, challenging but still so much fun to attempt! What's the furthest stage you've made it in today's challenge or have you been smart enough to clear it? I made it to 14 and tapped out (I am determined to complete it)
We finally have a release date for Infinity Sweeper! No more wondering when you can finally play the full version of the game, now you can actually count the days down
It's almost time to take what you've learnt from the demo so far and put your skills to the test in the full game. Minesweeper's gone rogue and you guys must try to defeat the constantly evolving grid!
And ICYMI from the previous announcement, we're also bringing you a big update to the demo, introducing the Daily Run mode! This gives you a fixed set of tiles, permanents, cards, and traps to start your run with. Alongside this, there is a weeklong Challenge Mode running from 9th - 15th April, you can read all about it here!
