Today's patch makes the game load a bit faster + removes a stutter when launching in window mode. This patch is also introducing a new saving system which should be bulletproof and way more robust, no more "my file got wiped cause Windows crashed" hopefully 🤞 Let me know if you find any issues, enjoy!

Hey there, this small patch fixes an issue with saving some settings and adds the following:

added Steam rich presence, a message in the form of: "#X Biggest Biceps in the world" followed by two emojis, 🎨 in case you have any customizations enabled and🧂 in case you are currently being boosted by salts
added menu animations
added new settings panel
added new setting to change the biceps animation (useful for late game when biceps go crazy thanks to 无极 for the suggestion)

I am working on a new customization update, will add more customizable elements to the game, I am all ears. If you have any idea for this now is your time to let me know what you would like to customize in the game

Hey guys, this is a small QoL patch, here are the things added/fixed:

Added scientific notation
Changed Greek, Japanese and Chinese fonts
Fixed text being pixelated in big resolutions

Hello there, it's been a while since the game received an update, I've been busy with new projects, either way, here are the patch notes:

improved leaderboard loading speed
changed leaderboard font (for compatible nicknames)
made game scale (zoom) the same for all screen resolutions
now all names no matter the width will show properly on the leaderboard
improved leaderboard behaviour when checking friend scores
fixed rep and growth sound toggles resetting after an ascension
fixed the ascension menu not having a background sometimes
fixed a crash when cancelling the import of a song
fixed visual issue with names that were too long in the leaderboard
fixed leaderboard not always showing you your score when opened

Today Idle Biceps becomes 1 year old. What started as a small project has blown away all my expectations, it was a really big step on my way to becoming a full time indie dev, and for that I want to say thank you to all of you guys who played the game, and to all of you that created content around it, that is YouTube videos but also all sorts of skins and customization options for others to enjoy, and shared them on the Steam Workshop. With that said, this update brings a few improvements and some additions, here are the change notes:

Added stats screen in the menu
Added position indication on the leaderboard scroll
Fixed rep points getting too big and going out of screen in certain resolutions
Fixed afk welcome screen resolution

I know I am starting to repeat myself, but once again, thank you all!

Small update that addresses/fixes the following:

Improved leaderboards behaviour (You will see way less missing characters as the font is now dynamic, should load faster)
Fixed a couple of crashes in the customization menu (Thanks valoreco, hhh124 and zefor for reporting)
Added a counter for ascensions in the corresponding achievements

This update introduces Steam Workshop customizations. That is, you can create your own skins, custom audios, songs, and backgrounds and share them with all the community! The game has recieved the "Verified" status for Steam Deck! ✔ This update improves the behaviour of the game on Steam Deck + ingame icons will now show Steam Deck controller buttons! This starts to feel like a diary... This update changes exp and growth at higher levels, more concretely, once level 150 is reached the exp required for the next level will not increase. This fixes a late game issue related with very very big numbers (300 digits+). THE GYM BROS UPDATE

Dear players, I am thrilled to announce the release of the first major update to the game! This update includes multiple balance fixes, as well as exciting new content and features.

New Content

This update introduces the ability to recruit "gym bros," which allows you to unlock more biceps to workout at the same time. This leads to increased volume and repetition points. Additionally, we have added two new ascension perks that boost and prolong the salt effect.

Cosmetics

You can now customize the appearance of your arms with "skins." There are four skins available from the start, with an additional three to be unlocked by recruiting new gym bros.

Future Updates

I have plans for a future update focused on customization. This update will include a Steam Workshop feature that allows you to create and share your own custom skins for arms and weights, among other exciting tweaks.

Balance

There have been significant changes to the game's balance, particularly with regard to ascension prices and effects. These are now exponential, making the late game more engaging. Straps are no longer useless in the late game, and salt is now more powerful, with the ability to be upgraded with ascension points. Thank you for playing the game, I hope you enjoy this update!

This update fixes and adds a few things. New Feature:

Some of you have requested a window mode, that has been added to the game, you can toggle between, borderless, window, and fullscreen mode. You can do so from the settings menu, or by pressing "F" on the keyboard.

Fixes:

There has been a correction of a visual bug where the amount of R/S and KG/S was misscalculated
Fixex the leaderboards position bug
Improved menu navigation by being able to close any menu by clicking outside the banner
Balance update for price and effect of the 3 volume upgrades (might change again based on late game behaviour)

Finally I wanted to talk about cheaters and the leaderboard, I have banned a few users from posting their scores on the leaderboard (users that were clearly cheating). I do not have any problem with autoclickers or even cheating as long as it doesn't affect other players, in this case, the leaderboard ranking. I do not see a clear solution for this issue, and will explore other possibilities in the future. First of all, thanks to everyone who has played the game, it makes me very happy for so many people liking it. This is a small update that fixes 90% of the issues in the leaderboards, there are still some thing that will be addressed (see friends, focus on your score). For now, the scrolling bar should behave ok, and all scores should be visible. I have also added a "bug report" button and "idea button" on the settings menu.
