Here's a small news post about what's going on!
A small QoL patch has been pushed for Hypogea, its main fixes being:
fixed a bug that used to reset your entire save (collectibles included) when launching 'chapter 1' from the chapters menu
Fixed some camera clipping issues during screenshakes
Did an occlusion pass on the entire game that should hopefully improve performance a bit on lower end systems
I am super excited to share that community member Pr0tal will be doing an all-chapters run of Hypogea at SGDQ tomorrow (10th of July)! The run will be hosted by VexxnBexxn with commentators BobbyBurn and Gelly!
EDIT: If you're reading this then the run has already passed, but you can still watch it here!
You can catch the run at 10AM CEST / 4AM EDT / 1AM PDT (if I didn't mess up my time conversions)
You can check the schedule here, and watch the event live on the Games Done Quick Twitch or Youtube channel!
This edition benefits Doctors without borders, so feel free to donate if you're able to!
In case you've missed the previous news post, I've recently announced my new game Netherspire!
Netherspire is a short 3D Metroidvania in which you explore the insides of a colossal tower, find upgrades to gain new abilities and defeat the attackers that threaten its ancient vault.
You can check out the trailer right here and can also wishlist the game on Steam!
J'aurai le plaisir de présenter Hypogea au festival FLIP a Parthenay du 16 au 18 Juillet, n'hésitez pas à passer dire bonjour si vous y êtes! (I'll be exhibiting Hypogea at the FLIP festival in Parthenay from the 16th to the 18th of July, so feel free to say hi if you're there!)
And that's all the news I have for you today! Have a great rest of your day !

Ever since Hypogea's release, along with post launch updates & bugfixes, I've been working on my next project:
Check out the trailer on youtube
Netherspire is a short 3D Metroidvania in which you explore the insides of a colossal tower, find upgrades to gain new abilities and defeat the attackers that threaten its ancient vault.
Check out the steam page for details (and maybe wishlist it?) right here :
If you enjoyed Hypogea's platforming, megastructure setting and retro PS2 aesthetics, I think you might be interested in Netherspire! The game also features combat, customisation, and a brand new world to explore non-linearly.
Netherspire was initially a game jam project made last summer called 'Tower of the Deep' and I've been expanding it into a longer, singleplayer metroidvania. If you want, feel free to check out the jam version here, though keep in mind that it might be a bit buggy and lots of things have changed since its initial release last August!
And that's all the news I have for you today! Again, feel free to wishlist Netherspire if the game interests you, and have a great rest of your day ! - Charlie
This is an update I had been planning for a while, but since I'm currently working on my next project I had to delay it a bit. Still, here's a quick rundown:
The Visuals options panel now features a new Visual styles setting that lets you switch between the default modern look, a pixelated effect and a new CRT filter. Here's a preview of how those all look:
The options menu now also features a new Save data panel, which lets you switch between different save slots, preview the currently selected one, clear its save data and also access the save directory.
The update also features some miscellaneous tweaks & fixes, here's a non-exhaustive list:
Added a safety to prevent getting stuck on valve interactables
Added a safety to levers to prevent a bug when returning from chapter 3
Added a tentative safety for a glitch that launched you upwards at the end of certain cutscenes
Tweaked chapter 5 collectible placement to be less error-prone and made backtracking easier
Tweaked chapter 4 to prevent a sequence break
And that's it for this announcement!
Thanks everyone for playing Hypogea, and have a great rest of your day!

Hello everyone!
Today Hypogea turns a month old! - Is what I would say if I had made this event in time... Still, I really wanted to express how thankful I am to see so many people playing and enjoying the game, and I can't express how glad I am to see the reception it has had. Thank you all so much.
As you might have noticed, a lot of patches and hotfixes have been pushed since the game launched, without much details about their contents, so here's a non-exhaustive list of some of the fixes that have been done since release:
Fixed a had blocker that got you stuck after skipping the cutscenes when returning from level 4
Fixed many potential softlocks in levels 2, 3, 4 and 5
Fixed some of the sequence triggers in Chapter 6 which were triggering too early and making said chapter too hard
Fixed some sounds not being assigned to the proper audio channel (especially a certain explosion sound that bypassed the game's volume setting, sorry about that!)
Fixed an issue with the 'Raising the bar' achievement that made it too easy to get
Reworked how the 'Collect-a-thon' and 'Recollector' achievements are triggered to make them more reliable
Reworked some of the player character animation transitions and code to improve overall navigation and avoid some movements triggering when they shouldn't
Many additional level design tweaks & improvements
Added tutorials for switching the direction of the minecart when going in the 'wrong' direction
Added a tutorial on how to rotate the camera when interacting with the first recollection
Added cloud saves
Added Simplified Chinese localization
There were lots of other smaller tweaks and fixes but those are the main ones.
To celebrate Hypogea's (late) one-month birthday, the game's soundtrack is now available on Youtube!
You can listen to it right here:
And that's pretty much it for this announcement!
Again, thanks everyone for playing Hypogea, and have a great rest of your day!
