Hey there, my beautiful gamers, Suit-O here with an exciting new announcement! And this might be the best one yet!
Now, one of the questions we get asked a lot is what does the "2" in "High On Life 2" stand for? Well, today is the day we're finally revealing that answer to you, the curious gamer.
Officially: the "2" in "High On Life 2" stands for "2 new ways to play High On Life 2"! Why? Because we're expanding your High On Life 2 playing experience with High On Life 2 on NVIDIA!
I think you know what that means so it'd be redundant to say that you can now play on a cloud-based high-end PC with NVIDIA GeForce NOW for NVIDIA Premium members. Oops, I went ahead and explained it anyway. I'm a naughty little Suit-O today, but can you blame me? I'm just so excited to tell you all about this. I'm especially excited because High On Life 2 may or may not be available on the NVIDIA GeForce NOW free tier later in August. Who can say what the future holds! I can, but I won't because you really really wouldn't like some of the stuff I see.
You're probably saying, "Hey, Suit-O, that's only one new way of playing High On Life 2, you lying little worm!" Guess what: we're also announcing the "Performance-Experimental" public beta branch. This branch allows you to check out additional performance optimizations we've made to see how the game runs on your rig! You can always return to the main branch if you really want to.
So, yeah, that's the "2" in "High On Life 2". 2 new ways to play: NVIDIA GeForce Now and the "Performance-Experimental" public beta.
Okay, that's it for old Suit-O. Until next time. I'll miss you.
I love you.
High On Life 2 and the High On Life 2 Demo on NVIDIA GeForce NOW
GeForce NOW allows you to play High On Life 2 and the High On Life 2 Demo by running the games on a virtual high-end PC in the cloud rather than locally on your hardware. With Install-To-Play, once you log into GeForce NOW and connect your Steam account, you can install High On Life 2 or the High On Life 2 Demo from your Steam library in a matter of minutes. Your saves will sync to the Steam Cloud, allowing you to pick up right where you left off in your next session, whether on a remote machine or your own PC.
Please be aware that Install-To-Play is only available for Premium members’ tiers on NVIDIA.
Keep an eye out for when High On Life 2 becomes available on NVIDIA’s free membership via Ready-To-Play later this August! You can learn more about Install-To-Play here: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce-now/how-to-play/#install-to-play
Introducing the "performance-experimental" Branch
In this public beta testing branch, we have made several changes to High On Life 2 in an effort to improve performance across multiple hardware configurations.
Please try out these optimizations and let us know your feedback. As the title implies, these are experimental changes. If needed, you can always return to the default branch.
What's new in this version
Simplified the Render Scale settings from a screen percent to “Very High”, “High”, “Medium”, and “Low” options. Try adjusting these settings if you experienced any blurriness in prior playthroughs.
Updated the default settings to better match your PC’s hardware configurations and sync with its settings on first launch.
If you have already adjusted your settings prior but would like to use these auto-detected defaults, go into the settings menu and select "Reset to Default"
Performance optimizations include async adjustments to reduce stuttering and additional safeguards to manage overtaxing your PC’s GPU.
How to enable the "performance-experimental" branch
Reboot Steam if you haven't in a while to catch this change
Right click on High on Life 2 and go to Properties
Select Game Versions and Betas
Switch from "Default Public Version" to "performance_experimental"
