The team’s now focusing on stability issues, as well as fixes for bugs caught by both our community and our hard-at-work QA duo. See you in the next challenge!
The release of Cursed War (finally!), our console launch, and the Race Challenge.
2.0 is the biggest update Hell Clock has received to date. Seeing all of you dive into Cursed War new story arc, challenges and Endgame systems has been amazing.
To every member of Hell Clock’s community that helped us with playtesting, feedback and bug hunting (even after Palworld's shadow drop right in our faces) we are grateful for all your support!
As always, launch week also means bugs. Today’s patch focuses primarily on fixing unintended Relic and skill behavior, Campaign and Endgame progression blockers, Localization issues and many other problems you reported over the last few days.
We've added gamepad rumble feedback to every skill in the game, making combat feel much more responsive when playing on gamepad.
We fixed some missing or placeholder translations introduced in 2.0, most of them affecting Unique Blessings and Unique Relics.
Some players are experiencing a critical issue causing crashes and save data loss. This issue has only been observed on the PS5 version of the game. Our team is fully focused on resolving them as quickly as possible.
We are also aware that the Ascension mode is currently broken on PS5. This problem has now been fixed, and Ascension will be fixed in the next update.
We're continuing to improve the game's overall performance.
Investigating an issue where players can receive more Constellation Points than intended from Cursed Shrines.
We're also looking into a issue preventing some players from claiming their Twitch Drops,
First of all, thank you to everyone who took part in the Race. Who needs the World Cup when we've got multiple streams open, watching all of you battle for first place?
We'll announce the winners soon! Until then, keep pushing those builds and we'll see you in Hell.
Added controller rumble support for every Skill.
Reduced flashing visual effects for Carcará Dive and Bombardment.
Uber Unique Relics now use the same VFX presentation as Unique Blessings.
Fixed Black Cilice causing zero damage while the player is at full Life.
Fixed Charred Figurine not properly scaling Holy Fire's damage with Skill Projectile Amount.
Fixed Blighted Carcass Pierce/Explosion being nullified by the From Nothingness node from the Yebá Beló constellation.
Fixed Death Bell Devotion affinity to Discipline
Fixed Blood Boil Devotion affinity to Fury
Fixed Infection not increasing Bleed duration.
Temporarily removed Vultures from Survival Floors while we investigate an issue where they sometimes freeze in the flying state, blocking run progression.
Fixed Tamarindo's Arena Portal spawning immediately after the boss escaped, allowing players to unintentionally skip the Unique Relic reward.
Fixed an issue where the player could get stuck during an in-game campaign cutscene by pausing the game while Pajeú was moving.
Fixed non-hitscan Projectile Attacks using fixed breakpoints for Projectile Amount instead of percentage-based additional projectile chance.
Enraged Deadman's homing projectiles now become increasingly accurate over time.
Removed projectile collision against curtains and beds in the Laboratory and Research Camp.
Fixed Act IV being incorrectly displayed on the Cursed Shrine Checklist popup on Ascension.
Renamed Acts to Steps in the Ascension Cursed Shrine Checklist.

Hello, Clockmakers!
First of all, thank you so much for the incredible support on today's launch of Cursed War. We've been closely monitoring your feedback, and we noticed a lot of players reaching out regarding regional currency conversion issues for the DLC on Steam.
You were absolutely right—the regional conversions were incorrectly set at launch.
Our original intention has always been for the expansion to cost roughly half the price of the base game in every country, following the exact same fair regional conversion rates we used for the base game launch (matching the $9.99 USD DLC price tag relative to the $19.99 USD base game).
We have just updated the system, and the correct regional pricing should now be live globally.
If you bought the DLC earlier today before this correction went through, please don't worry! Steam has advised us on the proper protocol to ensure you aren't overcharged:
Go to Steam Support and request a refund for the Cursed War DLC.
Once the refund is approved, simply re-purchase the expansion at the newly updated, correct price for your region.
We sincerely apologize for this hitch right at the starting line! Thank you all so much for bringing this to our attention so quickly.
— The Hell Clock Team
The gates of Hell have opened, and the race has officially begun! Hunters are already diving into the brutal depths of Cursed War to conquer Tier 9 of Endless Nightmares and claim the ultimate grand prize: the custom Starforge PC.
As we kick off, we want to address a common question from the community: "Why is livestreaming required to participate?"
We completely understand that not everyone usually streams their gameplay, but we want to be 100% transparent about why this rule is vital for the integrity of the contest.
To ensure a completely fair competition, our development team must be able to thoroughly review the full VOD of the winning run. This allows us to verify that no cheats, hacks, external tools, or exploits were used to unfairly accelerate progress. We want to guarantee that the grand prize goes to a player who achieved victory solely through skill, strategy, and pure effort.
To avoid disqualification, please pay close attention to the following guidelines:
Stream from the very beginning: Your livestream must capture your entire journey from the exact moment you create your fresh save file all the way until you successfully clear Tier 9. Missing chunks of gameplay will result in disqualification.
No webcam or mic required: You do NOT need to use a camera or talk on a microphone. Only your clean, uninterrupted in-game audio and video are required.
Enable VOD Saving: Crucial Step! Please double-check your streaming platform settings (Twitch, YouTube, etc.) to ensure that your channel automatically saves past broadcasts (VODs). Once you complete your run, you will need to submit these links in our Discord for our dev team to evaluate and validate your entry.
PC & Steam Deck Only: Due to technical verification capabilities, this race is strictly limited to PC (including Steam Deck) players.
Shipping & Sanctions Notice: Because our prize partners are based in the United States, we must comply with international shipping regulations and trade policies. Consequently, some countries under international sanctions or severe shipping restrictions will unfortunately not be eligible to receive the physical grand prize.
We want to send a massive thank you to our entire community for the incredible support leading up to the launch of Cursed War. This expansion is a labor of love, and we hope you all thoroughly enjoy the new content, biomes, and the brutal journey of Pajeú.
Fire up your streams, double-check your VOD settings, and show us what you've got. May the best Hunter win!

That grand prize is a Horizon Core pre-built gaming PC from Starforge Systems, a custom Hell Clock art case, and Steam keys for everything in the Mad Mushroom portfolio.
Nine runner-up submissions will also win three Steam keys each for both the Hell Clock base game and Cursed War DLC to share with their friends or community. A few important things to note:
This contest is open only for the PC / Steam version of the game, not consoles.
You can stream on Twitch, YouTube, or Kick, and your VODs must be enabled and publicly available.
All submissions must be made in the Hell Clock Discord server.
This contest is for players 16 years old and up, and there are a few regions that aren’t eligible (check the rules below).
If you’ve been part of our Cursed War QA test or Closed Beta test community, you have a significant advantage and are unfortunately not eligible.
If you’re a content creator that has received a key for Cursed War early, you’re still eligible but you can’t start playing patch 2.0 or Curse War until launch day. So sit on that Steam key until the 9th!
Read on for the full contest rules and details as well as Terms & Conditions.

Hey backlanders,
Today we want to share the patch notes for our upcoming 2.0 update, which will come for free to all users when the Cursed War expansion launches - a little earlier! - on July 9th!
You read it right - we are coming out earlier than previously announced! External forces once again conspired against our set release date, but this time we decided to no longer postpone, and move our date forward instead.
There are many, many new things and changes coming with the big patch next week. Due to the extra time we had because of the previous release date postponement, we’ve been able to run TWO rounds of Closed Beta testing and really refine this patch!
The biggest new additions are: the Journeys system, the Endless Nightmares endgame with new Biomes, the new Ascension, the Unique Blessings, and all the new items.
You can check them all out in this quick Video Walkthrough:
TL:DR
The TL:DR if you don’t feel like reading the massive patch notes below are: campaign progression is now faster, endgame is deeper, Ignite, Bleed and Shock are stronger, and build variety across all activities has been massively increased.
For those who want the details… let's get into it!
Added the “Journeys” system
New Save files can activate as many Journeys as they want, adding new gameplay systems and rewards to the playthrough. This is intended to be our interpretation of “Seasons” or “Leagues”, but without any FOMO or time pressure to complete them.
First Journey is now available: “Journey of Nightmares”
Nightmare Portals might appear anywhere, taking you to a twisted version of the next dungeon Floor
Nightmare Portals contain deadly Modifiers and might be Minor or Major, with the latter having additional Modifiers and better Currency drops
Unravel the Nightmares within to receive your choice of dozens of new Nightmare Relics
Nightmare Floors have random monsters and bosses, including brand new ones
Complete Journey Challenges to unlock an upgradable unique cosmetic reward on your hub (Quixeramobim or War Camp)
Added a new Endgame system: Endless Nightmares
Unlocked in Campaign save files after the Campaign is completed (Act IV if you own the Expansion, Act III if you don’t)
Endless Nightmares are ever-changing Dungeons that you create by making your choice of Nightmare Shards
Choose the Zones, and accumulate Penances and Rewards as you progress
Progress through 16 Tiers with increasing dangers and rewards
12 New Zones added to Endless Nightmares and Ascension:
Necropolis
Plague Fields
Research Camp
Hilltop
Red River
Bog
Warzone
Wetlands
Overgrowth
Infected Basement
Crash
Landfill
Added the “All Skills Available” option for new Campaign save files
Recommended only for experienced players
Allows all Skills to be acquired as soon as you have access to the Skill Book, with no Act restrictions
Unique drop tables for all Acts have been reworked for this mode
This is default OFF for players who have not completed the Campaign on any Save file, and default ON for all others. But you’re free to toggle it on or off freely when creating a new Save file
Added the “Unique Blessings” system
Add fun and powerful effects, aimed at making each individual Run less predictable
You can rarely find a Unique Blessing for a Skill when levelling up
Unique Blessings are extremely powerful and often simulate the effects of existing Unique Relics
Added 83 new Uniques to the game, including new Endgame Uniques, as well as the new Nightmare Uniques and Uber Uniques (see full list and descriptions below)
Added a New Constellation to the game: Charía, the Celestial Jaguar
Melee Damage, Summon Life and Summon Damage nodes
“Celestial Jaguar”: Kills with Jaguar Spear and hits on Elite enemies with Carcará Dive summon Celestial Jaguars (max 3). The Hounds deal a portion of Jaguar Spear's damage as Physical Melee Summon damage.
“The Eclipse”: Carcará Dive teleports all Summons to its location when it lands.
Completely rebalanced the progression curve of the Campaign to accommodate for Endless Nightmares and Act IV. You will find progression through the campaign to be smoother and faster overall compared to patch 1.2, especially around Act III.
Improved Dungeon Generation
Enemy spawns are now completely procedural (they were hand-placed before, and always static)
Increased the variety of dungeon layouts you can encounter in the Campaign
Endurance Rework:
Whenever you would take damage on your Life, a portion of that damage equal to your Endurance value is taken over 4 seconds instead
The new Endurance cap is 75%
Ignite Rework
Ignite now deals damage faster than before, so that builds which do not rely on explosions are more viable. Base ignite damage increased from 85% to 125%, but base duration reduced from 6 to 4 seconds
“Oiled” reworked: Fire damage instantly Ignites Oiled Enemies, dealing Ignite damage 3 times faster
“Oiled” is no longer consumed when applying Ignited
Bleed Ailment Thresholds on monsters have been significantly reduced. Monster Life is now half as effective as before when trying to apply Bleed
Base Bleed damage increased from 40% to 80% of Base Damage
Shock now has the added effect: Shocked enemies are 40% more vulnerable to Critical Damage
Cursed Shrines and Constellation Points changes
Added 4 new obtainable Constellation points from cleansing Cursed Shrines (the new total is 46 if you’re not in Ascension)
6 Starting points
4 points for Campaign Completion
8 points in Normal (4 in Act III and 4 in Act IV)
16 points in Abyss (4 per Act)
12 points in Oblivion (3 per Act)
You can now clear Cursed Shrines either on Campaign (via Abyss/Oblivion World Tiers) or Endless Nightmares, in any combination. For example, if you missed a Shrine at the end of Act 3, you can get that missing point from Endless Nightmares T1-T4, with no need to return to Act 3 again if you don’t want to
If you don’t own the Cursed War expansion, you will need to play Endless Nightmares to find the last missing Shrines that you’d otherwise find during Act 4 in Normal, Abyss and Oblivion
Added new Currency rewards to Recycle
Gain Tool of Tinkering when recycling Common Relics
Gain Fragment of Enhancement when recycling Magic Relics
Gain Fragment of Greater Enhancement when recycling Rare Relics
Gain Fragment of Locksmithing when recycling Unique Relics

Created a new stat "Summon Basic Skill Damage", which affects the damage of Summons which are not using proxy player skills such as Split Shot or Repeater
Several "Summon Damage" nodes on the Bell and Constellations have been reworked to hybrid "Summon Damage / Summon Basic Skill Damage" nodes
Added “Point-per-Point Respec” to the Bell and Constellations
Added a new “tab” system to the in-game HUD so you can easily keep track of multiple events and quests simultaneously (such as a Cursed Shrine inside of a Nightmare Portal inside of an Endless Nightmare dungeon, for example)
“Bonus Currency Drop Chance” renamed to “Bonus Tools Drop Chance” and now exclusively affects the chance of finding Clockmaker’s Tools
Added HUD feedback when you gain additional Time for the Hell Clock
Skill Book now show “available to buy” Skills in grayscale
Removed the temporary “Void” World Tier from Campaign (it is now exclusive to Endless Nightmares Tiers 13-16)
Void no longer reduces the Gold and Experience gain compared to Oblivion
Added the new “Blessing of Beginnings” at the start of each new Ascension
Blessings of Beginnings contain a choice between 3 Blessed Gear (with at least one Tier 1 Weapon always being included) and 3 Unique Relics
The offerings will remain the same unless you have cleared at least the 14th Floor of the First Step in the previous Ascension - so re-rolling until you get your preferred loadout is not a viable strategy
Ascension no longer uses the regular Campaign Acts, which were replaced by the new Steps of Ascension, using 12 new Endgame Biomes
Once you Ascend, the Biomes are locked in place for that Ascension - so you can expect fixed zones and Bosses on each one of those zones, and plan your Resistances accordingly
The balance, difficulty and progression of Ascension has been redone from the ground up to be faster and with less grind. In general, expect:
Higher drop rates, better Relics and Tools overall
Less aggressive enemy and Boss scaling
Starting Runs count reduced from 7 to 5
Runs counts awarded for each Step completion reduced from 7 to 3
In general, each Ascension will take less runs than before, and the difficulty is balanced accordingly

Precision IV "Projectile Amount" Blessing no longer has a damage penalty, reduced to +50% Projectile Amount
You can no longer drop or craft Rare affixes to Skills you don’t have access to yet (i.e. you will no longer find a Rare affix for Passage before you’ve reached Act 3 of the Campaign)
Added a new Relic category, “Uber” Relics. These are approximately 10 times rarer than most Relics and can drop in Endgame and Ascension
To avoid diluting the drop tables too much with all the new Uniques added to the game, a few Relics will now have a requirement of Devotion Points to be eligible to drop. Most new Endgame Uniques will require at least 4 Devotion to drop, while the rarest ones may require up to 10. Some rarer generic Uniques (such as Propaganda) require 3 points on each Devotion to be eligible to drop.
For example, in order to drop one of the two Ubers which have Discipline Affinity, you need to have at least 10 Discipline Devotion on your Constellations
Reduced the Move Speed values that could be crafted with Discipline Imbuement to be more in line with other Move Speed bonuses in the game

Clockmakers, we now have a new launch date for the Curse War expansion: July 14! Last month we shared the news that we were shifting our launch date to make room for PoE’s Return of the Ancients update. Today we’re happy to say that you’ll only have to wait a few more weeks to continue Pajeu’s story in Hell Clock. For a closer look at what to expect in Cursed War, check out our new trailer that just ran in the Latin American Games Showcase:
In our new expansion, Cursed War, you're going to dive further into Pajeu and Brazil’s past during the Paraguayan War of 1864 - 1870.
The expansion also drops these six new skills:
Tupã’s Wrath sends sparks of electricity flying all over the place.
Jaguar Spear can pierce multiple enemies with a long-range Melee attack.
Lead Sermon shoots bouncing Lightning shots, but needs to be reloaded.
Holy Fire is a classic Fireball, which burns everything to a crisp.
Cilada is a trap Skill, holding enemies in place and debuffing them.
And with Carcará Dive, you can Leap Slam into enemies with the strength of the Carcará!
We are also adding over 80 new Unique items, which can drastically change how all of these Skills work!
We hope you’re all looking forward to trying out these new skills and testing out new builds when Cursed War hits in July. Keep your eyes out here and on our Discord as we plan to share details on the expansion as we get closer to July 14th.
- The Rogue Snail Team
Hey Clockmakers, remember when we moved the launch of Hell Clock to avoid a new PoE league?
Well, we have to push back the Cursed War expansion's release as well... GGG has pushed their next Path of Exile 2 update to May 29, and that’s simply too close for comfort for us. We know exactly where everyone in the ARPG community will be spending their precious free time that week, and to be completely honest, we'll be right there with you, grinding and playing Return of the Ancients.
While we know a delay is always frustrating, releasing Cursed War just four days later simply wouldn’t make sense. As a small studio with a very limited marketing budget, we also rely heavily on content creators for our launch visibility, and the vast majority of them will be playing the much bigger game in PoE 2. So to be clear, Cursed War will not drop on June 2nd. We’re moving it by a few weeks, and we’ll be announcing the new date very soon.
The silver lining is that this gives our team a little extra runway. We’re using these additional weeks to add even more polish, crush a few extra bugs, and make sure the Cursed War experience is top-notch on day one.
We’ll be announcing the new release date very soon. But we didn't want to leave you empty-handed today. To give you a taste of what’s coming, here is our brand-new trailer that dives deeper into the dark story of Cursed War:
We expect some of you to be disappointed by the date shift and we completely understand. But this will give you more time for Return of the Ancients and Cursed War, and we can’t wait to see what you think when we drop the expansion.
Stay tuned here and in our Discord for more updates and the new date. Thanks for your patience and support.
Besides the Cursed War news that you'll soon be enjoying, we have another announcement to share and a very special request for our community in Brazil.
Hell Clock has been selected as one of the 10 FINALISTS for the Brasil Tá Pra Game award!
For those who might not know, this is an initiative by Embratur alongside Abragames, aimed at rewarding games that showcase innovation, our culture, and the talent of the Brazilian gaming industry to the world.
We're competing in the Popular Vote category, and that's where you come in! Winning this award isn't just a massive honor, it also comes with a prize that would be an absolute game-changer for us as an indie studio, helping us invest even more into the quality of the game for you.
Since this voting is focused on national promotion, it requires a CPF (Brazilian ID/Taxpayer number), which means only our Brazilian players can participate in this phase.
If you dig our work on Hell Clock and want to give Rogue Snail a boost, please take a minute out of your day to vote for us!
🗓️ Deadline: Voting closes on June 26, 2026.
🔗 Where to vote: https://votacaoembraturlab.lovable.app/
⚠️ Important: You will need to enter your CPF simply to validate that it is a legitimate vote within Brazilian territory.
We're counting on the strength of our BR community to bring this award home! Thank you so much for always having our backs and for your endless support.
- The Rogue Snail Team
Hey backlanders,
We are grateful for your patience with us for the last 4 months, as we locked in to finish developing Hell Clock's big first expansion.
We are proud to present the official reveal for Cursed War:
Uh, this is awkward...
A couple of days ago, another ARPG gaming company (the one with the gears grinding) announced a big update for one of the biggest ARPGs in the world. And it's on the same weekend as us, basically.
We had the June 2nd date locked for a while now. Had trailers and press releases already submitted to press and events, so it was too late to change the date on the videos and such.
Obviously a tiny studio like ours cannot compete with them, we would be crushed completely, so unfortunately we will need to delay. We are working with our publisher Mad Mushroom on a new date, and will announce it as soon as possible, hopefully over the next few days.
We are very, very sorry about this whole situation, but hopefully we can use this additional time to make sure Cursed War is even more polished when you do get to play it.
Now that the sad part is out of the way, let's talk about some fun stuff!
Cursed War's main features are:
New Story Content: relive the gruesome War of Paraguay in Act IV
New Skills: unleash the power of 7 new Active Skills and 20+ new Relics
New Monsters and Bosses: over a dozen new creatures of Hell to challenge
New Locations: explore a dark fantasy version of Paraguay
But that's not all! You don't need to buy the Expansion to enjoy the huge Update 2.0, which will come for FREE to all players, and features:
Endless Nightmares: a new Endgame system - our own spin on "mapping" endgame, where you get to build your own dungeon as you play it by making a choice of Shards every 7 floors. Progress through 16 Tiers of difficulty, taking your builds to the limit!
Journeys System: a reason to start fresh with a new save file, with new mechanics, challenges and rewards
Journey of Nightmares: the first Journey will have dangerous Nightmare Portals opening all over the game, and powerful new Nightmare Relics await those who conquer their terrors
New Endgame Zones: Both Ascension and Endless Nightmare will take place exclusively in all-new zones created for endgame
"All Skills Available" Mode: Start new Campaign save files with access to all Skills - no need to wait to put together the playstyle you want
63 New Unique Relics: We are adding many new Unique Relics to shake up the meta. Yes, this is not a typo. There are sixty-three new Uniques for you to loot, and make OP builds with!
Improved Dungeon Generation: We are also improving the way our dungeons are randomly generated to make the game feel less repetitive. Enemy spawns are now completely procedural, and we have also made improvements on the variety of dungeon layouts
Full Version of Ascension: Our experimental Ascension game mode will come out of Beta in patch 2.0! Expect a fully working Penance Tree, new randomized zones, rebalanced progression and difficulty up to Hell 100, a new "Starting Loadout" feature, and faster and more meaningful runs.
Performance and Quality of Life Upgrades: We are squeezing every last drop of performance from Unity engine with this one, and adding some much-requested QoL features on top of that, such as "Point-per-point Respec" of all Trees and Constellations
New Steam Achievements: A lot of Steam Achievements are being added, both for the new content and for crafting and endgame. You may notice those already showing up on your game page - these will only be unlockable when patch 2.0 hits!
Thanks for your support, and see you back in Hell very soon!
Cheers!
~Mark and the Hell Clock team
Hey folks,
We’ve been in “heads down, focus on development” mode for a while now, and it is about time for an update!
After we shipped all of the promised post-launch features from our Roadmap, we have shifted our efforts 100% to the new upcoming Cursed War expansion and patch 2.0.
While we were originally targeting a Q1 launch, the scope of the expansion ended up, uh, expanding, so we need a bit more time to get it polished and ready.
We expect this to be a short delay. In fact, we already have a new date internally that we are committed to, and our publisher Mad Mushroom should announce it officially Soon™.
In the meantime, we think it’d be rude to keep you waiting without at least a few spoilers about what’s coming, so buckle up!
Patch 2.0 will include a full revamp of the campaign Endgame, introducing a new system called “Endless Nightmares”.
This is a “mapping” endgame done in the Hell Clock style: you’ll face randomized dungeons in completely new biomes, with 16 tiers of scaling difficulty. Each one of these Nightmare dungeons will have modifiers that will be familiar to ARPG players. The twist is that you’ll be able to choose these modifiers as you play through the dungeons, rogue-lite style.
The existing Abyss/Oblivion system (that is, the “replay the campaign” endgame) will still be available for those who enjoy that experience, but we will be removing the temporary “Void” tier. You will be able to play either Abyss/Oblivion or Endless Nightmares, or combine both freely as you progress your character through the endgame.
Expect more details and a full breakdown of Endless Nightmares when we officially announce the expansion release date!
The experimental Ascension endgame is undergoing significant improvements for patch 2.0, and it will be officially released out of “Beta” state!
First of all, Ascension is getting the fancy new endgame Biomes from Endless Nightmares, so you will have fresh environments and enemies every time you Ascend. No more fighting the Jailer at the Basement on every restart!
Also, we have finished implementing all of the nodes of the Penance Tree, so the experience will be much more brutal than before.
To counter-balance that, we are making two pivotal changes to this rogue-like gamemode:
1) The very first run on each Ascension was a bit boring and too RNG-based. We are introducing a “starting shop” every time you Ascend so that you can go into your first run with a Blessed Gear and a Unique Relic of your choice (from a randomized pool of options).
2) Ascension attempts were a bit too long, sometimes taking upwards of 1 hour or even 2+ hours if you’re not a blaster. We are rebalancing the difficulty scaling of the mode so that you can progress faster, but also reducing the maximum number of Runs before the Ascension fails. The goal is to keep the same challenge level as before, but have you either succeed or fail faster.
We are also currently looking into reducing the time spent on “farming” runs where you are not looking to progress deeper into the dungeons
The Cursed War expansion, besides a whole new story campaign with new monsters and bosses, will introduce six new active Skills to the game, as well as dozens of new Unique Relics to shake up the meta!
While we cannot spoil everything before the official announcement, you folks deserve at least a few sneak peeks, so here it goes:
One of the six new Skills coming with the Cursed War expansion is Tupã’s Wrath: a Lightning Spell that spreads bolts of lightning all over the screen, shocking and burning the minions of hell.
And it wouldn’t be Hell Clock if there weren’t Uniques that changed the way your new Skills behaved! All of the new Skills have dedicated Uniques, and here’s a preview of one of them:
Icon of the Sun gives a disgusting amount of Projectile Amount to the new Tupã’s Wrath - but the projectiles now fire in all directions, turning the Skill into a true screen clearer!
Patch 2.0 is introducing a new type of Unique Relic called “Nightmare Relics”, all themed around death and decay. The Infested Cross will make your Old Bell deal massive damage against Bleeding enemies, making a “Bleed Bell” build one of the many new possible archetypes for you to build around.
We are also introducing dozens of new endgame items to grind for, including a new type of super-rare and super-powerful items called “Uber Uniques”. The Broken Mirror gives you a Shadow bestie that will absolutely destroy your enemies using Repeater, and can be used either to massively increase the damage output of Repeater builds, or to get a “free” Repeater to proc effects or apply debuffs.
Of course there are also quality of life changes coming your way!
Most notably, we are making great progress in performance and optimization. Although we believe our game currently has respectable performance in most cases, it is still our weakest point, and there are still some edge cases where you can get consistent freezes or very low frame rates.
We are trying to squeeze as much performance as we can out of the Unity engine for Patch 2.0, so expect the game to run better than it ever did before when it drops, including better base framerates
We are also putting in some much-requested features. To spoil one of them, we’re finally implementing per-point respec! Gone are the days of having to completely reworking your Constellations or Bell every time you want to make a small adjustment.
To celebrate all of the new stuff coming into the game, we will also be adding a lot of new Steam achievements. Some of these are of course related to the new story campaign, but we are also adding a lot of endgame challenges.
You will notice that these new achievements have already been added as “hidden” on Steam. While you cannot unlock them right now, they will be fully available as soon as Patch 2.0 is live!
The vast majority of content coming with Patch 2.0 - Cursed War will be FREE to everyone who already owns the game. This includes ALL of the new endgame activities and changes (both Endless Nightmares and Ascension), as well as ALL of the quality of life changes and new items.
The paid expansion will restrict access only to the new story/campaign content and the 6 new Skills. While we’d very much appreciate it if you could support the continuous development of Hell Clock by purchasing the Expansion, we are making sure that you’re still getting a great experience if you’re not able to do that.
We can’t wait for the official expansion announcement, and we hope you’ll join us soon for the party!
See you in Hell! ~Mark and the Hell Clock Team

Fix Shadow Dash with Death Worship not proccing specific effects for Melee Skills, like Bundle of Syringes and Melee Life Leech)
Reduce Dummy life to improve ailment testing
Abraços, ~The Hell Clock Team
Hey folks, Most of the new Constellations seem fine so far, but we clearly miscalculated the power of St. Paul, so we're making a quick balance change, while also adding more fixes and stabilizing the game.
This change was actually a Community suggestion, so thanks to @Ghost-Tales on Discord for the elegant solution!
The St Paul Constellation now has the added effect: "Reduces your Cooldown Speed by 65%\"
Changed the Rare affix "Using Passage recovers Mana" from percentage to flat (from 8-16% to 100-360)
Changed the Rare affix "Using Closed Body recovers Mana" from percentage to flat (from 20-50% to 250-1200)
Shrine buffs are no longer purged when Second Wind is triggered
Book of Sin's Blessing now always consumes a Blessing from Judgement instead of other Skills
Fixed an issue where the Player Camera would slowly drift from the center
Fixed Bombardment not following the player when using Colonel's Insignia
Fixed an issue where The Sacrificed Unique would not properly increase its value when upgraded
Fixed an issue where Player sound effects for steps would not play
Fixed Blessed Shop not resetting when selecting other save slot
Improved the written description of St. Paul to explain that some Skills have a Min Cooldown that cannot be overriden by any effect
Cheers!
~Mark and the Hell Clock Team
Hey Players,
As promised, here's the skill interruption fix, plus a few more!
Fixed an issue where channeled Skills (Repeater and Double Knives) are not being properly interrupted;
Fixed a visual glitch on the character animation that would occur sometimes when using Click to Move;
Fixed missing Localization lines for Nossa Sra Aparecida and Yebá Beló Constellations;
Matadeira and Bombardment now properly respect the input buffering queue;
Fixed an issue where you could sometimes shoot Repeater without the move speed penalty;
Abraços,
~The Hell Clock Team
Hey Players,
1.2 was supposed to have active cooldown reduction effects respect a "min cooldown" setting on every Skill, to prevent the crazy manalooping shenanigans we had in the past. Due to an oversight on our part, this was not properly implemented, but it is fixed now!
Fixed an issue where Active Cooldown Reduction was not respecting a Skill's min Cooldown value;
We are still looking into the issue where channeled Skills (Repeater and Double Knives) are not being properly interrupted. We hope to have a patch out that fixes this tomorrow.
Abraços, ~The Hell Clock Team
Hey Players,
Although 1.2 went relatively smooth, you have reported a few issues over the weekend that we're getting fixed right now!
Changed patch notes URL to Steam Post direct link
Disorientation now correctly scales with the stats "Skill Area of Effect" and "Summon Damage"
Bosses are now immune to Ailments until they can start to take damage
Fixed player light being disabled on some occasions, mostly after triggering Second Wind
Fixed Second Wind freezing the game if triggered while the level is being changed
Fixed Graphics Options not being loaded / shown properly
Fixed Blessed Stash recycle generating Soul Stones multiple times
Fixed a case where Damage numbers would be duplicate after restarting a session
FixedMurk's Blood Veil not using the proper value for Life and Conviction drain
Fixed Click-to-Attack enemies not working
Fixed Shift+Click not forcing Basic Attack when using WASD mode
Fixed Final Reckoning damage being inconsistent and also doing way more damage than it should
Also, we are looking into the issue where channeled Skills (Repeater and Double Knives) are not being properly interrupted. Expect another patch with this fix ASAP.
Abraços, ~The Hell Clock Team
Hey backlanders,
We're happy to announce that Update 1.2 is live, and it brings some exciting new things to Hell Clock!
Our previous Update 1.1 was gigantic and it has put the game in a very respectable place in terms of balance, quality of life, and performance, but we still want to improve all of these things further.
We also have some awesome news to share with you all: Hell Clock will be available on Consoles (Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and Switch 2) in 2026! Keep following us to get all the updates as they happen!
Movement Revamp: we have re-built our character animation and movement system from the ground up to support one of your most-requested features: move and attack simultaneously;
All 52 Constellations Available: all the power of the Constellations has been unlocked in the Campaign Endgame and in Ascension mode;
New Community Unique Items: added new Uniques created by members of the Hell Clock community;
Search Function added to the Constellations screen;
Search Function added to the Bell screens (Great Bell, Infernal Bell, Oblivion Bell);
Melee buffed: some of you have struggled with Melee builds after the combat changes in 1.1, so we are giving all Melee builds some love
We now have the bulk of our team focused on next year's Expansion, which will bring a new story with about 1/3 of the content of the base game, alongside exciting new Skills! Although we'd love it if all of you could support us by purchasing the Expansion, the vast majority of improvements will come for free and will NOT be behind a paywall. These are:
12 new Biomes for endgame (both Campaign and Ascension);
Improvements to Dungeon Generation and Randomization across the board;
Per-Point Respec of Skill Trees and Constellations;
"Mapping" Endgame System: Endless Nightmares;
Dozens of new Relics;

Greetings, backlanders.
The launch of 1.1 was our smoothest one so far, while at the same time being the game's biggest update ever! This made us happy, but it doesn't mean there isn't stuff to fix!
The main motivation behind this update is adjusting the difficulty of the early endgame, especially for Regular difficulty players. Our testing both internally and on PTR was mostly focused on Veteran difficulty, and we dropped the ball a bit with the difficulty curve coming out of the campaign for novice players.
Early Abyss is now a bit more manageable than in 1.1.0, and hopefully this encourages more players who are new to the ARPG genre to get invested and take their builds to their limits!
We have also found and fixed a couple of nasty bugs with the new Headless Doll Unique. It basically, uh, didn't make much sense, to be honest. It was giving a LOT more Summon Damage than it should in most cases, but sometimes it would give less.
We have NO intention to nerf your builds that you already have going for 1.1, so we are applying a significant buff to Headless Doll that should bring it to about the same power level as it was before this patch, in the best cases. If you are playing Summons, your damage might change a bit (either up or down), but hopefully not more than 15-20%.
This buff, however, is temporary. Headless Doll was capable of performing WAY beyond intended due to these bugs, and this buff is a way to compensate for that and make sure your Summon builds are still performing at the same level for now. But in 1.2 (est. late November) this buff WILL be reverted, so Summons can return to dealing damage more in line with the other archetypes in the game.
We have also noticed some issues with Chinese localization and fixed those! We apologized to your Chinese friends, and hope to do better in the future.
And although we are generally very happy with the current state of Hell Clock's build variety, with basically all skills being strong in endgame and a variety of different builds being able to clear Void, we are giving a few buffs to Bombardment, Spectral Knives and Veil of Quills to get them more in line with the rest of the meta.

Cheers! ~Mark and the Hell Clock Team
Spectral Knives damage scaling with Skill Levels increased from 20% to 25%
Mark of the Vulture damage increased from 170%-370% to 240%-480%
Bombardment base damage increased from 140% to 150%
Bombardment damage scaling with Skill Levels increased from 24% to 30%
Headless Doll Summon Damage bonus increased from 7.5%-11.5% to 15%-23% (this is to compensate for the bug fixes, and will probably be reverted in 1.2)
Removed the "Doctor's Lackey" endgame skill that allowed him to root players
Reduced Vulture Ranged Attack base damage by 60%
Constellations "Três Marias" tooltips now additionally display a brief description of the Fury, Faith and Discipline archetypes to help new players make more informed decisions early on;
Reduced endgame Regular difficulty scaling by about 20% across the board
Reduced The Jailer damage scaling in Abyss World Tier by ~50%
Reduced The Jailer Life scaling in Abyss World Tier by ~40%
Reduced The Merchant Life scaling in Abyss World Tier by ~30%
Reduced The Starved Beast Life scaling in Abyss World Tier by ~20%
Reduced The Matriarch Life scaling in Abyss World Tier by ~15%
Fixed an issue where sounds would sometimes get muffled/lowered during gameplay;
Fixed an issue where sometimes Stashed items and Currencies would not reset in Ascension;
Further improvements to FMOD performance around Split Shot projectiles in particular;
Fixed a couple of Rare affixes not displaying their icons properly;
Fixed Base Damage Stat on the Character Sheet displaying your Physical Damage instead
Fixed some new Options sometimes not persisting correctly
Fixed Veil of Quills pierce not working on some enemies
Fixed Guaraci "The Sun" notable not working correctly
Fixed Ceuci Star-Mother Constellation not being unlockable
Fixed Nina`s Monster not dropping loot in endgame Act 3
Fixed an issue where Tier 8 and Tier 7 "Projectile Amount" Weapons had their base damage values swapped
Fixed Nina's Monster hitbox sometimes not interacting with Shadow Dash and Skull of the Vulture's explosions correctly
Fixed a performance issue with Feitor's Lash where framerate would degrade over time due to an object leak. We are still investigating further performance problems with Lash, but this fix is already a significant improvement
Fixed an issue where Feitor's Lash would not register hits correctly when hitting too many enemies at the same time. This fix also benefits other systems in the game such as gamepad auto-aim
Fixed an issue where Headless Doll would apply its buff using the Spell tag on Skills instead of the Summon tag
Fixed an issue where Headless Doll buff could be applied repeatedly for each relevant Skill, instead of being applied globally and only once
Replaced Ceuci's and Xango's "Elemental Damage" nodes with separate +Fire, +Lightning and +Plague bonuses for clarity and for the values to read correctly on the character sheet
Hi players,
You keep reporting, we keep hotfixing, until it is DONE!
