Hello Survival Typists!
We’re back with another update to your favorite typing game, and this one is literally game changing!
Roguelite Omens
We know that we could lean into the roguelite elements of the genre more, so we’ve completely overhauled our omens system. These omens are randomized at the start of every run, giving you randomized debuffs with an assigned difficulty depending on the trial level you are at. If you don’t like your omens, you can reroll for an unlimited amount of times until you get the ones that suit your strategy the best.
This opens up a whole new way for us to add content to the game, by adding different omens with each update. More on that in the next part!
Enemy Omens
Some of you like the Stalker enemy (the one that hides the letters) but some of you hate it enough to leave bad reviews (please don’t!) With the new roguelite Omens system, we’ve now made the Stalker enemy an omen, so you get to choose whether or not you want to deal with it!
This allows us to add more interesting or advanced enemy types in the future, with the flexibility of letting you opt out if you just don’t wanna deal with them. We have added the Wurm in this update. It’s a multi segment enemy with an impenetrable shield between each segment. Each segment needs to be killed in order to destroy it.
Chemical Augments
Players noted the lack of augments for the chemical tag, so we went ahead and discharged some augments for you to play with.
Vocabulary Boost
It’s been a while since we added new words to our base wordlists, so we’re adding 500 new words to some of our major official languages.
You are now Immortal in Relaxed Mode
We understand that some of our players are struggling with the game. We’ve tried to address this in previous updates, but it hasn’t quite addressed the concerns. So we’re making a big change and you are now immortal in relaxed mode. Practice typing and using the different weapons without fear of death!

Hello Survival Typists!
We’re excited to share that we have some new ways for you to show your support for Glyphica : Typing Survival and aliasBlack.
Soundtrack Supporter Pack DLC
As some of you know, the inimitable sound team at Imba Interactive released the remastered soundtrack of Glyphica : Typing Survival on bandcamp previously. However some of you have requested to have it as a DLC here, and so we have provided. Owners of the game will get a 10% discount when buying the soundtrack.
Glyphica Merch Store
Some of you have also been asking about Glyphica merch, so we’re also soft launching a merch store! Currently the store has shirts, hoodies, mouse pads and mugs. We know it’s missing the obvious merch of a keyboard or keycaps, but we’re currently looking into that right now. Leave a comment if you’re someone who would be down for a group buy of a custom glyphica keyboard or keycaps.
That’s all for now folks. We’ll be back soon with an exciting new update!
Hello Survival Typists!
We’re back with another update to your favorite typing game! It’s a smaller update as we have been fixing bugs and working on a literal game-changing feature coming this summer.
Revamped Trial Selection Screens
Our original trial screen got a little too complex, and some information was missing, so we broke it up into different, bite size sections.
Consumable Shop
Now you can purchase your favorite consumable items before starting a trial! Not only are you better equipped before taking on a Trial, but you now have something else to spend all those coins on!
Avoid Word Overlap Option
In an effort to make words stack over each other less, we’ve enabled a new option where words move out of each others’ way. We know this may not be popular with everyone, so we’ve given you the option to activate in the settings menu.
CHANGELOG
New Gameplay Systems:
Anti-overlap system: Automatically moves words apart when they overlap. (Note: Feedback is requested on this feature).
Consumables Shop: A new shop interface has been added to the game.
"Midas Touch" Consumable: A new item available exclusively via the Consumables shop.
UI & Quality of Life:
New Setup Layout: Refreshed design for the "New Game" setup screen.
Volume Controls: Added audio settings directly to the pause menu.
Localization:
General update to all localization files.
Stability & Performance:
Fixed a crash occurring when attempting to load a mod without a specified path.
Improved framerates for Fireball augments, particularly on lower-end PCs.
Implemented a potential fix for the "afterimages" visual bug reported on some systems.
Gameplay & Logic:
Guardian AI: Added additional checks to the target acquisition script to prevent the Guardian from getting stuck.
Midas Touch: Fixed an issue where the reroll mechanic did not respect the Midas Touch effect.
Consumables: Fixed a bug where similar consumables were incorrectly added to the same stack.
Loot Balancing: Restored original Consumables drop rates (previously boosted for testing).
Localization Fixes:
Fixed various errors in the Russian localization.
Updated the Russian wordlist (corrected "фонера" to "Фанера").
Hello Survival Typists!
We’re back with another update to Glyphica. Our big addition to this update is Steam puts the power in the hands of our players. That’s right, we’re finally adding Steam Workshop!
Steam Workshop
With Steam Workshop you can now create custom wordlists that you can share with the world. You can use wordlists to do whatever you want, either making lists as a learning tool or adding your own poetry to the poet boss! The process for uploading a mod to Steam is a little bit complex, so we’ve prepared some documentation for you.
The big addition that Workshop brings is something we call multi-level wordlists. What this means is you can have a word that you are typing, and a reference word above it. So for example, you can do wordlists with translations in other languages! Here’s some examples:
Spanish
Simplified Chinese
Glyphica was not designed as a language learning tool so this will not be added in the main game. However we’re excited to give you this tool to play with on your own.
We’ve uploaded some official wordlists for you to play with. Once you have subscribed to a mod, go to the Language Section and select a Typing Language, where you select the mod you subscribed to.
Global Weapons Evolutions
We’ve also added global evolutions to the game. Global weapons offer the player a choice of reinforcing one weapon or choosing an evolution that improves a weapon tag that affects many weapons. For example a player might have a Minefield build with a focus on Explosive, but also has Spectre and Hunter as their other weapons. On the next Minefield evolution they may be given an option to lean into the Explosive Build, or Pick up a Global Drone Evolution.
That’s all for now, Survival Typists! We have some big plans coming up for the next update. But for now, we look forward to seeing all the cool mods you come up with!
Glyphica: Typing Survival Original Soundtrack is live right now on Bandcamp.
The album features 12 tracks from the game, remastered for standalone listening. You can enjoy the full soundtrack without needing to survive a single boss fight.
Put it on while you work, study, or type. Loop it in the background and let Glyphica set the rhythm. It might even boost your WPM.
Thank you for playing and supporting Glyphica.
Happy holidays!
Hello, Survival Typists!
This month’s update focuses on a new main weapon and a lot of work under the hood to build up for future releases. Without further ado, let’s get to it!
Wildcard brings a bit of randomness to your play. Each shot is randomly selected to have a different effect between heat, cold, kinetic, and electric. High level players will appreciate the fact that the wildcard evolutions allow you to combine their effects to create “combo weapons” if you time your shots correctly!
Our roadmap image has been a little out of date and so now it’s time to update it and tell you what else we are working on. As you can see in the roadmap, the release of Wildcard completes all of the Weapons we announced for the game. While we might be slowing down on releasing brand new weapons, we're diverting our attention to creating more evolutions to make each existing weapon deeper and more distinct
We still have a few augmentation codexes and also have more enemies and one last boss in store for you in an upcoming update.
Most of the major tasks in the game are done, with the only major thing left being adding Steam Workshop integration.
Most of the groundwork has been done for steam workshop integration. We want to refine it so you all have a smooth experience when using it and making and sharing your own custom wordlists. We’re planning to have this for you by the next update.
Traditional Chinese has now been added to the game, and we would love your feedback on it.
We are always paying attention to what our players are saying, and we are leaving ourselves a little room to add “just one more thing” to the game. When the time comes, we’ll be sure to share that with you.
Until then, happy typing!

Hello, Survival Typists!
It’s crazy to think that it has now been more than one year since the Early Access launch of Glyphica : Typing Survival. We want to thank the almost 80,000 players who have bought the game and given us 89% positive reviews. More than that, we appreciate everyone who has given feedback here and on Discord to help guide the team on how to develop the game further. Before we go into what we’re doing for this update
2 New Main Weapons
We launched the game with Repeater and Heat Ray, and followed it up with Barrage in Update 1 and Splattershot in Update 4. Each main weapon is hand crafted to offer a different play style, and we’re unveiling a new one with this update.
3 New Bosses and More Enemies
The bosses are the second most popular element of the game, with players usually having one boss that is their favorite to hate on. Since launch, we’ve added Cerberus, Jormungandr, and Gemini to the list of big bads that ruin your typing experience. On top of that, we added new pesky enemy types like the Splitter.
Augmentations
These were added very early on in the game and have been expanded on with almost every update. Augmentations allow the player to fully specialize their build and match their playing style.
New Level Up Weapons and Evolutions
More level up weapons like the orbiter and guardian have been added over time, each with unique weapon evolutions. Some evolutions are only accessible if you have 2 specific weapons, can you find out which ones?
Statistics and Leaderboards
We added these tools for those that want to track their typing improvement in-game!
Music and Color Themes
We added new color themes and soundtracks for people who want custom jams or colors to suit their moods.
New main Weapon : Overmind
Taking cues from RTS games, the Overmind is the strategist’s favorite weapon, as it allows the survival typist to strategically target multiple enemies at the same time. High level players can use the Overmind to target problem areas strategically to pull them out of tight situations.
Super Relaxed Mode
We always listen to feedback from our players, and quite a few of you were asking for a much more relaxed mode for chilling out or even language learning sessions.
Balancing
We hear the issues players have with the difficulty of bosses, so we’ve made the difficulty scaling more manageable after the boss spawns. Loot drops are also time based instead of chance based now, so there’s a more consistent supply of loot.
While our Steam demo has now been out for a while, the big thing we were working on these past couple of months is our web based demo. We know that the best typing games and apps like nitrotype and monkeytpe are freely available on the web.
While we believe that the gameplay we have integrated into the typing game genre deserves a premium price, being on the web is the most frictionless way of getting the game in people’s hands.
So if you know someone who would be a fan of the game but needs a little bit of convincing, go ahead and link them to playglyphica.com They’ll be able to play the endless mode for Repeater as many times as they like, with all the colors and themes available in the full game.
Closing
That’s it for now, Survival Typists. We’ll have another update for you before the end of the year. Until then, happy typing!
