Hello everyone! We've just released another small update focused on improving the save system and fixing a few remaining issues.

BALANCING

Increased cost of talent points that cost crystals

• Enchanted Tower = 20>40

• Guild Hall = 50>80

• Increased maximum number of decorations = 5>10

• Increased starting number of adventurers = 20>40

• Dark Dungeon = 80>150

DEBUG

Save System - Fixed an issue where sound slider settings were not always saved correctly. - Added saving of modified guild names! - Added additional save protections, especially after performing a Reset Save. - Continued improving the overall robustness of the save system against corrupted or incomplete data.

- Article debugging blocked even though it was already unlocked, security added

- Fixed bug with the display of the guild name without the player changing the name.

- Fixed the red placement zone bug when moving an NPC/animal. (No placement constraints)

- Correction to the decoration combos completed: the last 5 were not necessarily marked as "done" on the expanded decoration combo panel.

We've learned a tremendous amount while working on these save-related issues, and the system is becoming much more reliable with every update. Save systems are far more complex than they seem, and we're continuously strengthening them to prevent similar issues in the future. If you're still experiencing save issues... If your save was affected by the save-system issues fixed in the last few patches, please don't hesitate to contact us on our Discord. About the Recent Save Issues

Hello everyone,

First of all, we want to sincerely apologize to everyone who was affected by the recent save issues.

Losing progress in a game is one of the worst things that can happen, and we know how frustrating and discouraging it is. We are genuinely sorry.

After investigating the reports, and thanks to many of you who sent feedback and save files, we reworked a large part of the save system and added several layers of protection to make it much more resilient.

What has changed?

Improved save validation and corruption detection. Added additional safeguards when loading save data. Improved compatibility checks for save data after updates. Improved recovery when corrupted or invalid data is encountered, instead of letting it affect the rest of the save. Fixed several synchronization issues that could occur when switching between villages. These kinds of problems should now be much less likely to happen in the future.

We are a very small indie team. While Alex is primarily a game designer rather than a programmer, this situation taught us a great deal about save systems.

They are far more complex than they appear, and this experience has helped us understand how to make them much more robust in the future.

- Trending items that are rejected by adventurers will disappoint even more: a 100% drop in satisfaction when purchasing a red item

- You can move NPCs anywhere in the game area; there's no more collision. So you can integrate them into the decorations, do whatever you want! (This helps reduce drag-and-drop bugs :) - Addition of rotation to certain soils

The game lacks clarity for beginners, and we're sorry about that, especially for a cozy game. A few small improvements are in order: - Added tooltips for the building panel - Tooltips for trending items - On the tooltip of articles, if it is a trending article, the bonus/penalty is displayed in color directly on the tooltip. - Tooltips for building customization and info buttons - Added the average success rate next to the difficulty level - Added a tutorial window in the first village on building customization and NPC movement

Hello everyone!❤️❤️ First of all, thank you so much for playing Glimvale and for all your feedback. We've been reading everything and working on improvements since launch.

SUCCESS STEAM

- DLC Achievement Removed We owe you an apology We recently discovered that the DLC achievement was counting towards the game's full achievement completion. Our intention was for it to be an optional DLC achievement that wouldn't affect players trying to 100% the base game. Unfortunately, we couldn't figure out how to properly separate it from the main achievement list. We honestly don't know if Steam allows this or if we're simply missing something. We've contacted Steam to ask for clarification. In the meantime, we've decided to completely remove the DLC achievement to avoid frustrating players who want to fully complete the game. We're really sorry about this. We genuinely thought Steam allowed DLC-only achievements that didn't affect completion percentages, and we feel a bit silly for not realizing the issue sooner. If Steam provides a proper solution later, we'll revisit it. Sorry Achievement Fixes The achievement for reaching 100 Population has been fixed. If your village already has 100+ population, the achievement should now unlock correctly.

BALANCING

Following player feedback and our own observations, we've made several balance adjustments: Increased the gold requirements for Village Levels 3 and 4.

Increased recipe purchase requirements. Increased adventurer spawn speed. Increased the population cap from 100 → 110.

Adjusted progression pacing in later stages of the game.

Growth, change in the size of the treasure chest

At certain sizes it became difficult to move around the village. The chest will now stop growing after reaching a maximum size of x8, instead of scaling infinitely.

DEBUG & QUALITY OF LIFE

Added rotation support for several decorations. Fixed an issue where some drinks and decorations could transform into unexpected objects when placed. Various small fixes and improvements.

We've also created a discussion thread on Steam! At the moment, we don't have any planned content updates. We're a very small team, and right now we're mostly focused on fixing bugs, improving the game, and listening to feedback. That said, we'd love to hear your ideas! :) If you have decoration themes, creatures, buildings, environments, or cozy features you'd love to see in Glimvale, feel free to share them in the discussion thread. We can't promise anything, but we'll definitely read everything and keep your suggestions in mind if we decide to work on future content. After months of building villages, creating decorations, designing creatures and adventurers, tweaking systems, and pouring our hearts into this little world, Glimvale: My Mini Overworld will finally launch on June 18th!

Before anything else, we'd like to be transparent about what Glimvale is.

This is a small game, created by a tiny team of 2 developers (plus our wonderful sound designer who helped bring the world to life). We're not a large studio, and Glimvale isn't a massive city-builder or a deep management simulation with hundreds of systems.

Instead, it's a cozy little project made with a lot of love.

✨ Talent Tree is here The long-awaited talent tree system is now available, bringing more progression, choices, and customization to your village adventure.

💾 Save System Improvements We’ve fixed several issues related to saves and progression, making the experience smoother and more reliable.

🎁 Demo Exclusive Decoration By playing the demo, you can unlock an exclusive decoration that you’ll keep forever, even after the full game releases. You’ll be able to claim it later from the village selection menu on the world map.

This special decoration takes the form of a Glimvale robin statue, a small tribute to the world of Glimvale 🐦🐦🐦🐦🐦🐦

New Language Support

Hi adventurers ! ✨ We’ve just released a small update to improve your experience in Glimvale. Here’s what’s new :

• Added a tooltip explaining the difficulty system (the D20) in the building info panel

• Added a list of adventurers currently inside a building directly in its info panel

• Fixed minor issues with panels staying open when they shouldn’t

• Fixed some states not resetting properly

Buildings

• Alchemist building is now smaller -> easier to decorate around it ✨

• Difficulty system reworked :

  • Before: each building had its own base difficulty, and when an adventurer picked an item, the check was building difficulty + item difficulty.

  • Now: each purchased item license inside a building increases its total difficulty (if applicable). This makes things simpler and more consistent !

• No more upkeep costs for selling licenses — manage your village with less stress and more freedom.

• Adventurers’ tastes (items & activities) now evolve earlier, starting from Quest 6 instead of Quest 8, making progression smoother.

• Adjusted item costs & profits for better balance and pacing.

New Content & Customization

• Added new decoration items to personalize your village even more !

• You can now change the ground of the village center, perfect for giving your hub a fresh look.

✨ Who gives quests ? Your red-breasted robin friends, local inhabitants of the overworld are your classic NPCs, ready to guide passing adventurers with quests and tasks. As the Game Master, simply notify them when it's time to send adventurers on a new quest !
