For those of you that have missed it, we restored old Gladiator School and improved it alot, not only in terms of content, but also the overall mechanics. It was a pure loveletter to all the supporters of "old Vanilla GS". We did TONS of improvements to all major game systems, UI/UX, animations, textures, faster save/load systems and hundreds of tweaks and fixes to the training and combat. We also completed the storyline and finally added a real ending to the game. Today we have good news for the future. It is time to announce a new expansion that also will stay true to "Vanilla Edition" and add more content to it. You have been invited to travel to the north and participate in a major gladiator tournament event. This will be a challenging competition with new progression and rewards. A new city will open its gates before you. It consists of one big arena in the middle and several districts, each with their own market and special traders. A complete new story with a second ending and a big suprise that we will not spoil quite yet.

Gladiator School: "The Ogre King" is the next full DLC expansion for the ultimate gladiator tycoon management game on Steam. This expansion will be free content together with the version 2.017 update to the basegame. Launch date to be announced soon.

Half of our team is currently working on a new game called Tower Walker. The reason we mention this is because the foundation is built upon the old gladiator school engine but this time you do not train in a camp. Instead you go up in a tower and grind mobs for XP and loots. You only play one character and do not manage several fighters. Hotfix for a MAJOR BUG in the DLC expansion causing storyprogress to go bananas. This has now been fixed. You current savefiles will be auto repaired when loaded. If you have reached DLC content it will be reset back to before the new content begins to fix the savefile. Here are the patch notes 2.015(483):

Due to popular demand "Vanilla" Gladiator School is coming back at the end of May 2022 with a fresh new update. You asked for it. We are currently working on an improved and updated version of the classic original game from 2017 (using v1.24 build 469 "Beastmaster update" as a base for rollback). There will be tons of improvements, interface refinements, bug fixes and stability fixes. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/27030423/aadba8df5dd4ee266d278360531a97bb4428eace.png We have decided to update and support the old version from now on and in the future. It is time to show some love to the original game and give it what it deserves. To respect what makes Gladiator School unique and special. The recent "Pit Boss" version (v2.2) will be put aside for now and maybe released as a standalone game with a bit of refinements in the future. (current build will also remain in the game folder so players can continue playing their recent savefiles even after the updates) From the bottom of our hearts. Rare gladiators have higher potential. Potential affects how much stats your gladiator can gain from practice and how much experience he can gain from competition before he reaches maximum cap. Medicus can now suggest special treatments to increase condition recovery speed for major and heavy injuries. We heard you! By popular demand we reworked how to buy gear and weapons. No more need to spend skillpoints to change any equipment. It should now also be faster to access talents and jobs. We want to reduce clicks and implement more automation so players can get to the good parts faster. We hope you like these improvements!

Hi everyone, First of all, sorry for the delay in publishing news about update v1.2. Here is a progress report!! We love Gladiator School, there is so much we want to do to improve the game. We completely redid our hunger mechanics (Consuming Food Changes), tweaked practice automation vs micromanagement. We made a release ceremony to set gladiators free. We started redevelopment of the UI. More usability work. Lots more stability work. And then the testing of the new Colosseum with multiple gladiators fighting(3v3-6v6-9v9-12v12). We had a "dreams" list of things we wanted to do with the new arena. Work is now ongoing to fix issues and bugs that have come up along the way. Our key priorities must be met before we can roll out this update. Basically it will take as long as it needs to. Reworking major systems in a game like this takes time and there is only 2 of us. When will the update come out?

We're now pretty confident that early in May 2018 is a realistic release date for the update but we won't hesitate to delay this if we aren't happy with the quality. That’s all for now. Back to coding. Thanks for reading!

A very common request from you guys in the Steam Forums is that the game needs to have more purpose for training multiple gladiators, so in version 1.2 we are adding: Colosseum!! Colosseum is a new feature where you sign up multiple gladiators to fight teams of enemys in a new faster progression. The rewards for victory in this huge battle will be much greater then in the Pit or the Arena. Since December, Gladiator Schools review score has decreased from (Very Positive) to (Mixed). In response to this downturn, we believe the best thing we can do is to listen and make improvements. This has led to a number of changes in our plans and schedule for future updates. Lots of players returned to the game last update and we hope that the same thing will happen next patch. Most of our focus in this update is that the player should be motivated to train more gladiators.There has been a lot of development work experimenting with a "Tired" system so gladiators will have to rest after fights or they get penalty to HP/STA/DMG. We have also been exploring other options to try to implement more rewarding gameplay for having more gladiators. But so far we think the "Colosseum" is the best way to encourage multiple gladiators. We can not announce an exact release date today because it just creates stress and interferes with our ability to optimize the development process. We are working hard to make sure it comes out as fast as it can and since we are not in Early Access anymore we must test these new changes to make sure everything works and that takes abit more time. So what have we been working on over the past weeks?

We’re currently focusing on two major areas. Fixing game balance in early game and the first big post-launch content update(v1.1) that will include a mixed match of new things - No spoilers here yet :) After loads of feedback regarding early game we have been busy tweaking balance to make the early game abit faster. The amount of skillpoints that it costs to unlock skills, ultimate and change weapon/gear is being looked over aswell.
