Full Steam announcements and update articles for this title.
If you love behind-the-scenes content for your favourite media, then we have a real treat in store for you. (There's no trick - it's not Halloween...yet!)
Many of the amazing creatives who came together to make Forbidden Solitaire have contributed to the 50+ page digital art book, Forbidden Solitaire: The Making Of, which is jam-packed with insights into the weird and messy world of building a horror game with nothing but a few props, the internet, human ingenuity and nostalgia.
Ever wondered what time signature is appropriate for a demon, how to stage a live-action scene with someone who is hundreds of miles away, or what makes a particular card-play sequence sing? We have crammed all this - and more - into our art book.
And even better...it's completely FREE!
That's right, if you own Forbidden Solitaire and have beaten the game, check Will's desktop. Click the new icon you find there to delve into code, game art, music, voice acting, and even a handy 'how to' guide on staging your own death!
We had a blast putting this together, and really hope you enjoy taking a peek behind the curtain.
Just a small update as follows: - Hopefully stopped hand 57 from showing "failed to generate beatable layout" error on rare occasions. - Mana Storm is now allowed on hand 1 in NG+ - Victory credits no longer loop and the button changes to "Continue". - Fixed Menu button not being clickable on level 60 on Steam Deck. - Increased hitbox size for Menu button and Title Screen exit button on Steam Deck.
Many of you have been asking for some form of 'New Game+' mode in the reviews, comments and forums, and so the developers didst heed thy prayers!
Beat the main game, but still craving MORE solitaire? We've created a NEW GAME+ mode just for you!
Go to The Forbidden Solitaire title screen and click the NEW GAME+ button. You can now replay any level, and adjust various parameters to create your own challenges.
Check the pinned New Game+ post in the forums for more details.
In addition to all of the changes listed below, we have also now added Steam Trading Cards! Complete with unlockable Badges, Emoticons, and Backgrounds!
Added New Game+ button to 1995 title screen. This button only appears after you have beat the main game. It will allow you to replay any level and to adjust various parameters.
Improved level generation code to avoid seeing "failed to generate beatable level in 1000 attempts" on rare RNG occasions.
Fixed rare situation where first play resulted in a level that says "Oops".
Fixed "shop items exist" dot not moving down when Shop button clicked.
Fixed late game Jester fight showing a "shop items exist" dot when there is nothing in the shop.
Fixed a grammar issue in the story.

Thy end is nigh! Today, during the Second Wind Games Showcase we announced that Forbidden Solitaire is officially launching NEXT WEEK, on April 30th!
To deliver this news, we dropped a new trailer from the archives - an in-universe advertisement that originally aired in 1995! When your mother sees this, she'll surely forbid you from going anywhere near this evil filth.
Be sure to add Forbidden Solitaire to your wishlist, and go forth to help us spread the word!
Over 10,000 of you have downloaded the demo for Forbidden Solitaire since it mysteriously leaked to Steam on Friday.
Don't forget to warn your friends and family - there's probably a good reason it was suppressed... ❤️♠️
"Despite attempts at strict containment by Heartblade Interactive and censorship by ratings agencies and media outlets - a public demo version of banned 1995 CD-ROM ‘Forbidden Solitaire’ leaked to the public today on Steam."
There's a 25-45 minute demo - and you can try it right now! Be among the first to set foot in the Forbidden Dungeon, grabbing any loot or upgrades you find. You might come across police reports or disturbing news from the game's release in 1995, but that's not going to stop you. You've wanted to play this for as long as you can remember...
We're horrified to announce that a new unseen trailer for the banned 1995 title Forbidden Solitaire has surfaced. Bizarrely, it seems to contain some audio of the original developers at the now defunct Heartblade Interactive, along with grisly clips from the game itself.
In further concerning news, this title has been included in Yogscast Games' Tiny Teams 2025 event, which starts today. If you encounter any streamers in possession of a short demo build of the game, please exercise extreme caution.
