Deciding the sort of manager you want to be and the world you want to manage in are essential considerations at the start of every FM career.

Elevating authenticity to truly global heights, we’re delighted to have signed our first partnership with FIFA, football’s world governing body.
The multi-year deal brings official licences for FIFA’s biggest competitions to the Football Manager series, including the FIFA World Cup 26™ held in Canada, Mexico and USA.
The inclusion of officially branded and titled FIFA competitions will begin in FM26 with the FIFA World Cup™, FIFA Women’s World Cup™ and FIFA Club World Cup™.
Announcing this partnership unlocks our ability to answer your questions – this licence coincides with the inclusion of a playable, revamped International Management module in FM26, FM26 Console and FM26 Touch* in a Content Update next year in advance of the World Cup.
Full feature details will follow once we're in a position to confirm every element but we can reveal that for the FIFA World Cup 26 - the 23rd and largest edition in tournament history - the official kits of all 48 teams will be included in FM26 when they’re available alongside broadcast graphics and tournament branding.
*The International Management module will be available in FM26 Mobile (Netflix) from launch.
Building your squad in the transfer market at the heart of every Football Manager career – the successful negotiations, the transfer deals you complete and the pathways you create for your wonderkids define your success.
Recruitment is also an area of the footballing world that’s constantly evolving as clubs look for marginal gains on their rivals through whatever tools and date are available.
For FM26 we’ve furthered our collaboration with our partners at TransferRoom to give you new, real-life inspired tools for incoming and outgoing deals while making the wider recruitment experience in-game smarter and more intuitive for you.

In recent years, the language of football tactics has evolved dramatically. Managers, pundits and fans alike now dive deeper into analysis, with sharper insight into complex ideas like pressing triggers and rest defence. One concept that’s rapidly entered the mainstream is the distinction between in possession and out of possession formations - the way a team changes shape based on whether they have the ball or not.
As the game itself has evolved, so has Football Manager. Behind the scenes, we’ve spent years working with leading experts in the football industry to bring one of the sport’s biggest tactical developments into FM – distinct formations for when your team are in possession and out of possession.
When we originally announced player roles being added in FM, this was done to provide instructions for players in a formation both when they had the ball and when they didn’t – and while this system worked well for that, what it didn’t do was allow managers in-game to have different formations for those scenarios.
Now, we’re thrilled to announce that one of the most requested features from our community is being added to FM26 - separate In Possession and Out of Possession formations. These are just part of this year’s major innovation in tactics, giving you greater depth, flexibility and freedom than ever before in setting up your team.

Matchdays in Football Manager are where your dreams are realised. The highs of victory, the lows of defeat and the theatre of the big occasion – it’s why you play the game.
In Football Manager 26, we’ve elevated every aspect of the Matchday experience. From on-pitch details to more authentic player movement, and from gameplay to the overall match experience and how you celebrate success, it’s all been upgraded.
This is the future of football storytelling.
In 2021, we revealed our plan to introduce women’s football to Football Manager. Doing this properly meant more than just plugging in female leagues, it involved factoring in the unique rules, players and landscape of the women’s game.
How will it all work in FM26? You can learn more, here.
Whatever technology you’re interacting with, the user interface (UI) is essential to the quality of your experience. The clearer the layout of the screen, the easier it is for you to find and interact with what you want.
Nowhere is that truer than a game like Football Manager - every line-up tweak, transfer negotiation and slice of dressing room drama shapes your season, and the UI is where you make it happen.
In Football Manager 26, you’ll experience an entirely overhauled UI from day one. Our new visual identity brings a more intuitive way to explore and define every element of life in the dugout.
You can dive into more detail, here.
Football Manager 26 is the legacy, redefined – and it launches globally from 4 November.
Powered by the Unity engine for the first time, FM26 refreshes the managerial experience and sets the stage for you to define your football destiny.
FM26 Console (Xbox/PS5) and FM26 Mobile* (Netflix) are also set to launch day one, with FM26 Touch (Nintendo Switch) scheduled to release digitally on 4 December. Further information on FM26’s availability on other platforms will be revealed in the coming weeks.
FM26 is the next evolution of football storytelling.
As we’ve already revealed, a reimagined user interface that gives you greater control and influence over the make-or-break decisions in every career.
That UI overhaul combines with our most immersive matchday experience yet, delivering greater drama and spectacle in every match thanks to new volumetric animations from real-life matches and gloriously upgraded on-pitch visuals.
The arrival of the Premier League provides the ultimate stage for this redefined era, taking authenticity to new heights with fully-licensed club logos, kits and official player photos.
A new world of possibilities is opened up by the debut of Women’s Football. Seamlessly integrated into the FM ecosystem as one footballing world, its backed by the most comprehensive database of its kind and a host of licensed competitions set to be revealed in the coming weeks.
That’s just the beginning. Despite being on a whole new engine, technology that converts your saved games to the new format means that FM26, FM26 Console and FM26 Touch will all launch with save game compatibility for Football Manager 2024 and Football Manager 2023.
Additionally, FM26 Mobile will be the first edition in our Mobile series with save game compatibility functionality**.
There are further, significant upgrades waiting for you to discover in every career covering everything from transfers and tactics to manager creation and controller integration.
Over the coming weeks we’ll be diving deep into this year’s new additions. Make sure to follow Football Manager on social media and sign up to FMFC to see those drops as soon as they’re released.
From 10 September until the game’s release, if you pre-purchase FM26 (PC/Mac) from a SEGA-approved digital retailer you will receive a 10% discount. Pre-orders for FM26 Console (Xbox/PS5) will launch at a later date.
Those pre-purchasing on PC and Mac can kick off their managerial career ahead of schedule with Advanced Access to FM26. Advanced Access will be available on Steam and Epic Games approximately 2 weeks*** before the official street date. Single-player careers started in that period can be continued when the game updates for launch on 4 November.
In FM26, football belongs to you and your vision. It’s almost time to change the game.
*FM26 Mobile is the only title in the suite not switching to Unity at this time.
**Save game compatibility in FM26 Mobile is restricted to FM24 Mobile careers only.
***Early Access may go live at different times on different platforms.
