Full Steam announcements and update articles for this title.
More than a year ago I said that an update for FlyKnight would drop with ng+, randomizer and perhaps some more fun stuff. However I am not here to announce its release, sorry about that, I'm here to tease you a little bit and let you in on a couple of things that are happening behind the scenes.
Please understand that we have been working on our other game and we can't give FlyKnight our full attention, that said some of you are HUNGRY for more, but please, this is not a live-service-roadmap-driven-battle-pass-season-enabled-lootbox-fest, FlyKnight is a cool and small and stinky game for nerds, and it is a game that is Finished. If you are reading this chances are you have played it, and finished, and have been able to move on to other games, to other adventures, hooray. But I get you, you are hungry for more, we personally believe that we have scratched but only the surface of what this world can offer, but we will not be exploring the full length of that with constant updates, or dlc, we would rather move on to a full sequel and make it proper.
That said, I'd like to announce that I am working on FlyKnight Enhanced Edition which will include the following:
A harder difficulty that can either be played in a new savefile or as ng+, things this difficulty will include:
New enemies and variants of old enemies
New gear to collect
A few new weapon types, like longbows and wands
New throwable gear, items like knives, caltrops and shurikens, that use a new renewable resource, they also share equipment slots with spells
Enhanced (harder) bosses, with new stages and behaviors
Redesigned levels, keeping the level structure the same but with reworked enemy encounters
Randomizer mode, which will include randomizer settings for gear and enemies:
Reasonable: the randomized thing will be changed by something of its same class
Chaos: anything goes, good luck with that
I seriously would love to improve fishing but it would be a lot of work to make it proper, it's kind of fucked up at the conceptual level and it would need a total redesign of how you consume fish, catch fish, and make them edible, and what happens when you eat them and
Anyway here are a few videos of things that are in development:
As a bonus, I have the honor to announce a Soundtrack Vinyl for FlyKnight, a cool collectors item you can preorder right now courtesy of Stumpy Records, benefits from it go straight to them and Michi, FlyKnight's musician.
It's a great collectors item, including some fantastic unique art pieces and of course Michis jaunty tunes, get them at https://stumpyfrog.com/ if you dig it.
Performance issues were introduced in the latest update, they should be fixed by now.
The following languages have been added:
Turkish
German
Simplified Chinese
French
Japanese
Korean
Polish
Brazilian Portuguese
European Portuguese
Russian
Latin American Spanish
Catalan
Other fixes:
Conversation Box now scales with resolution, making the text readable on 4:3 and such
Added QoL features for weapon stat windows that were getting out of screen bounds
Added Italian Localization, mamma mia
Added effect that shows when someone is poisoned
Fixed a line in encounter 2 of Vagrant Fly
QoL changes to the way ammo is stacked and updated, now the game will try to "resupply" your current ammo stack before sending ammo to your inventory
Non-host players can now see their buffs when they eat fish (wow, finally)
