Fixed an issue introduced in the latest update where chefs could incorrectly report that they could not reach their assigned workstation and stop working, even when the workstation was fully accessible.
Improved chef workstation assignment validation and reliability when assigning or updating cooking stations.
Thank you for all the reports that helped us track this one down. ❤️
Hey Backyard Chefs! 🍅🧑🏻🍳 Update 1.0.120 is live now! This update focuses on making Move Mode clearer and more reliable, especially when repositioning walls, floors, cook stations, and kitchen appliances. It also improves how moved objects are shown during placement, so it is easier to understand what is being moved and where it will be placed.
Improved Move Mode clarity by visually hiding the object at its original position while it is being moved, making the active placement preview easier to read.
Fixed several Move Mode issues that could cause moved objects to be selected, placed, or restored incorrectly.
Fixed wall placement issues where walls could keep incorrect neighbor or edge relationships after moving, placing, destroying, or loading buildings.
Fixed an issue where moving floors could leave attached walls in an incorrect state.
Fixed an issue where cook stations and kitchen appliances could incorrectly block their own placement or movement in Move Mode.
Fixed move/repositioning issues affecting kitchen appliances such as ovens, grills, stoves, and cook stations.

Till next time,Furkan & Sevo @ indieGiantWith our latest update, we added a dedication to Emin Karakaş in Farm to Table’s credits, so his memory can remain a part of this project.
This post is not a regular game update, but a message of remembrance and gratitude.
During the days when I was preparing to release Farm to Table, my dear friend, the person I grew up with, my cousin Emin Karakaş spent his final days in the hospital still believing in Farm to Table. With his faith in us, his love, and his support, he stood by us through many difficult moments.
Sadly, shortly after we released the game, he passed away on May 11, 2026.
I wanted to dedicate this project to his cherished memory.
He was my closest friend throughout my life. We shared so many beautiful memories that I will never forget. His early passing has deeply saddened me, but I also know that the last thing he would have wanted was for this loss to negatively affect your experience with the game. More than anyone, he wanted Farm to Table to have the launch and future it deserves.
Şevval and I have spent more than the last two years of our lives working on Farm to Table from our own rooms. We dedicated ourselves to this project, and we enjoyed every minute of it. We have received so many meaningful and encouraging messages from you, and we are very hopeful and excited for the future of Farm to Table.
Thank you once again for all your support.
With all our gratitude, to Emin Karakaş, my dearest lifelong friend.
Furkan

First of all, thank you so much for all the support, patience, bug reports, and feedback you’ve shared with us since launch. Farm to Table is a solo-developed project, and Early Access has only been live for a little over a week. Every report, suggestion, and message you sent over the past week has been incredibly helpful while the game keeps improving step by step.
This update focuses heavily on some of the most requested quality-of-life changes, especially shelf labeling, staff clarity, recipe renaming, and mouse invert support.
You can now label shelf crates and control them with lock, unlock, and reset options.
This should make storage much easier to organize, especially for players who have been struggling with farmers placing ingredients in unexpected spots. Shelf organization has been one of the most requested improvements, so we’re really happy to start improving this part of the game.
Staff members now show wait reasons when something blocks their work.
They can explain if they are waiting because of things like:
Missing assignments
Missing shelf space
Missing ingredients
Unreachable targets
Blocked stations
We also added warning indicators for staff blockers that the player can fix. This should make it much easier to understand why a chef, farmer, or waiter is not working instead of leaving you guessing.
You can now rename discovered recipes.
This was another highly requested feature, especially for players who like organizing their menu in their own way.
An Invert Mouse setting has been added for players who prefer inverted camera controls.
Added recipe renaming for discovered recipes.
Added an Invert Mouse setting.
Added shelf crate labels with lock, unlock, and reset controls.
Added staff wait reasons so staff can explain what they are waiting for, including missing assignments, missing shelf space, missing ingredients, unreachable targets, or blocked stations.
Added warning indicators for player-actionable staff blockers.
Added scrolling support to the recipe/menu limit UI for longer lists.
Fixed an issue where loading or saving could reset research progress and money. (Thanks to @notfriendless on Discord for helping us track this down.)
Fixed save controls so they are unavailable until loading is complete, helping prevent accidental saves over incomplete game state.
Fixed ingredient transfer issues that could cause ingredients to disappear, duplicate timing problems, or become interactable before movement finished.
Fixed shelf labels so loaded shelves can restore labels from their saved contents.
Fixed staff assignments so hired staff keep their assigned fields, cookers, and stations more reliably after loading.
Fixed highlight behavior on sprite-based visuals.
Adjusted mouse look sensitivity tuning to better match the updated mouse settings.
Thank you again for playing, reporting issues, and helping us improve Farm to Table step by step. Your patience during these first Early Access days means a lot, and we’ll keep working through the feedback as quickly and carefully as possible.
Please share the things you loved, what you think could be improved, and any bugs, crashes, feedback, or suggestions in the Discord channel or on the Steam forums. We'll be closely watching them throughout launch. 💛

Thank you so much for the amazing support during Farm to Table’s Early Access launch!
We’ve been reading your feedback, bug reports, reviews, and suggestions closely, and seeing so many of you already spend hours building your restaurants, sharing your places, and making Farm to Table part of your day has been incredibly special for us.
We’ve activated a new version on the beta branch, and you should be able to try it now.
Fixed an issue where shelf contents could fail to restore correctly after loading a save.
Fixed shelf crates so saved ingredients now restore to their correct crate slots and positions more reliably.
Improved save backup handling to better protect existing saves if a save attempt fails.
Added and corrected missing Russian and Ukrainian building names.
Fixed broken text encoding in several localized building names.
Note: Due to incorrect data already stored in some older save files, shelf crate contents may appear in different positions the first time you load your game after this patch. After saving again, future loads should restore them correctly. This issue is caused by previous save data, not by this patch. Thank you for your understanding.
If you encounter any new critical bugs in this test version that you haven’t experienced before, please don’t hesitate to report them as soon as possible.
Right-click Farm to Table in your Steam Library.
Select Properties.
Go to Game Versions & Betas.
Under Selected Game Version, choose Beta.
Steam should start downloading the test version automatically.
Once the update is complete, launch the game and test the new version.

Thank you again for helping us improve Farm to Table during Early Access! 💚
Fixed customers and shoppers spawning during prep time in a way that could disrupt the normal daily visitor flow.
Fixed remote orders appearing before the remote order NPC has introduced them.
Fixed daily sales reports so restaurant, market, and remote order sales match their displayed categories.
Fixed record sales checks to use restaurant sales instead of total daily earnings.
Fixed day-end flow sometimes getting blocked by incorrect occupied-seat counts.
Fixed stuck delivery handoffs that could prevent the day from ending.
Fixed the fast travel shortcut reminder showing while fishing.
Fixed wandering animals choosing unreachable destinations and getting stuck.
Fixed Bakery Oven quest progress when the oven was built before the quest appeared.
Made cook-station plates easier to select and pick up.
Fixed lighting on higher visual presets so nearby lights render more reliably.
Fixed Twitch viewer visit names so they now attach to seated restaurant customers and stay consistent during their visit.
Reduced the number of roaming wildlife to improve navigation and overall performance.
Adjusted recipe prices across multiple dishes for better economy balance.
Adjusted fishing difficulty for a smoother and more consistent experience.
We are investigating a few remaining research tree issues that may cause progress to appear incorrect, blocked, or incomplete. If you run into this, please join our Discord and share your save files with us so we can diagnose the issue and include targeted fixes in an upcoming update.
Staff may need to be reassigned after loading a save.
Shelves may fill random crates after loading a save.
The restaurant’s current menu screen may not scroll correctly.
Chefs may not move on to the next recipe when the ingredients for their assigned recipe are missing.
Ingredient labels for crates placed on shelves.
Farmers will place items only into labeled crates.
Invert mouse option.
Recipe rename feature.

After almost two years of development, we’re finally ready to share Farm to Table with you in Early Access. Start with an empty plot of land on a colorful island hilltop and build your own restaurant with a backyard farm. Grow fresh ingredients, cook and serve customers, manage your staff, explore the island, and turn your place into a 5-star organic restaurant.

The demo serves up the core chef + farmer life: start from scratch and buy your first plot, build your open kitchen, and mush-room around for wild ingredients. Cook & Serve to earn, grow your menu with farm-fresh crops, then build your restaurant wall by wall. Got extra produce? Deck-liver it for offshore orders and tool up at the local market.

It’s been just over a month since we announced Farm to Table, and wow… what a month it’s been! When we hit that “publish” button, we weren’t sure what to expect, but the love and excitement from all of you has been incredible.
Our trailer was featured by IGN!! (wohoo!!🥳)
Every single “this looks like my dream game” note truly fuels us while we’re cooking up the next steps.
We continue to improve the visuals and overall quality of the game, and we’ve updated the shaders on animals and NPCs.
Also, we are working on making the UIs ready to play.
We want to say THANK YOU in the biggest, warmest way possible. This project started as a dream, a tiny farm that grew into a huge sustainable restaurant business, and now it’s growing into something even bigger because of all of you.
Cooking
We’re polishing up the cooking mechanic; one of the main parts of the game. We want it to feel fun and creative, centering the exploration and crafting aspect of it; so we’ll keep tweaking it to bring out that vibe.
We’d love love love to make it happen too, but we can’t promise anything yet. Whether the game gets co-op will depend on how it does after Early Access, and we’ll need to see the feedback before making that decision.
