Fantasy Jigsaw Puzzles news & patch notes

I've uploaded a small patch, which fixes a visual bug in the new image-viewer scene. Please let me know if you experience any other issues!

I'm pleased to announce the addition of a new feature! After completing each puzzle, you can now easily view the completed-puzzle image at full size. A button will appear beside the preview image of completed puzzles when in the main menu. This is a new feature and I've tested it before publishing, but please let me know if it works well for you!

This update aims to fix an identified bug; lagging when connecting large groups of puzzle pieces. There should be a noticeable difference, with the puzzle piece connection being much smoother in larger puzzle sizes (400+ pieces). I'm interested to find out if you can see an improvement with this update. Please let me know!

I have added some more text which wasn't yet translated, relating to the gameplay instructions.

This update brings further improvements to the extra controls introduced in version 1.4.2. Now, the piece-movement and camera-movement functions are controlled by different mouse buttons. This should stop the frustrating situation of trying to move a piece, and instead moving the camera. The left mouse button controls piece movement, as it always did. The camera movement is now controlled by the right mouse button. There are in-game reminders about these controls. I have also moved the corner markers to the top of the z-axis, so that they can always be seen over the puzzle pieces. Thankyou to the members of the community who discussed these changes with me. If you have any other suggestions or comments to share, I'm happy to hear them!

This is an update which should significantly improve our puzzle experience. We now have a moveable camera. Zoom in, zoom out, or pan the camera to get the best view of your puzzle. There are also several new puzzle sizes. The maximum puzzle size is now 700 pieces! There are lots of new features in this update, which I have tested myself and they seem to function smoothly. Let me know how they work for you!

I have updated some of the core set puzzle images, in the Humans category, to be consistent with the art style of the other images. I hope you like them!

I'm proud to announce a new feature, and a significant expansion to the puzzle collection! Each puzzle set now has 4 unlockable bonus puzzles. Unlock these puzzles by completing the others. With each row of puzzles you complete, you'll unlock a hidden puzzle image! This update increases the size of each puzzle set, from 20 to 24 puzzles. The size of the complete collection therefore increases from 200 puzzles to 240. Players who have previously completed the other puzzles should find these new puzzles unlocked automatically, and the indicators should correctly show which puzzles still need to be completed. Please let me know if this new feature works well for you!

I'm pleased to announce that sliding puzzles have come to Fantasy Jigsaw Puzzles! On the main menu, you'll notice a new button which allows you to play each puzzle as a sliding puzzle. In sliding puzzle mode, you click each piece to move it inside the game area. However, you can only move one piece at a time. It's quite a challenge! In addition, I have fixed a small bug with the 'restart' feature. Now, all puzzle pieces are shuffled correctly when a puzzle is restarted mid-game. This is a new game mode and I'm still improving it. Please tell me any problems you have, or any suggestions on how to make it better. Enjoy!

I've introduced a new feature, which aims to improve the aesthetic of the puzzle pieces. We can now choose between dark and light outlines for the puzzle pieces. The default has been changed to the new, darker colour. Set your preference in the options menu. Let me know if you like this new feature!

I'm pleased to announce a useful new feature! When you exit an incomplete puzzle, the pieces' positions will automatically be saved. You can choose to continue any puzzle later, from the game's main menu. I have conducted initial testing myself and it seems to work fine. Please let me know if you have any problems with it. The game now has a brand new puzzle pack: Fantasy Jigsaw Puzzles - High Seas.

I've just added support for three more languages: Traditional Chinese, Portuguese and Italian.

This update adds 28 Steam achievements to Fantasy Jigsaw Puzzles. Achievements are awarded for completing puzzles. All achievements can be unlocked without the purchase of DLC. The background rectangle in the main puzzle scene has been changed to be slightly less opaque. This should make it easier to solve puzzles with darker puzzle images. I've just added another significant feature to the game; triangular puzzle pieces! You can select triangle-mode from the main menu. I think it's quite challenging. This feature was going to be included in update 1.2.0, but it wasn't quite ready yet. Because this is a new feature, please let me know if you have any problems with it!

This is a significant update with some helpful new features! There are 3 new puzzle board sizes for the option of a greater challenge. In the main menu, you'll notice new options to cut the puzzle image into 120, 156 and 200 pieces. I have also implemented keyboard shortcuts for all of the main puzzle functions. You'll see each shortcut labelled when you scroll over a button in the main game scene. These should work for both standard and numpad number keys. I have added a small gem to show which puzzles you have already completed. You'll be able to see which puzzles you have completed in the main menu. Let's complete them all! Finally, some of the puzzle images in the Humans section have been updated to make the selection more varied and colourful. These are some significant changes I have added all at once, so please let me know about any problems.

I've just added a new puzzle pack to the game: Fantasy Jigsaw Puzzles - Northlands. Some of the puzzle images in the Humans set have also been changed, so that the selection is more colourful.

I've just finished a significant update, which should greatly improve the playability of Fantasy Jigsaw Puzzles! In the options menu, there is now a section to change the game's background texture. In addition to the default background, there are now 6 more background textures to choose from. In the main puzzle game scene, there are now 2 new buttons. These buttons find the corner or edge pieces and move them to their correct locations. The control panel has also been reorganised to accommodate these new buttons. In addition to the new features, there are 2 new puzzle packs available: Fantasy Jigsaw Puzzles - Magic and Fantasy Jigsaw Puzzles - Darkness.

I've continued working on the game, and have published a small update. You can now click a button to bring loose puzzle pieces to the top. The button appears in the main puzzle game, with this icon: ⇅ This should make it easier to find single pieces when we have almost finished completing a puzzle. It's a new feature and I have tested it myself, but I'm interested to hear that it works well for everyone. I have also published new DLC content. Check out Fantasy Jigsaw Puzzles - Deserts.

I've just published an update which enables the Steam overlay! Pressing your default key combination (usually SHIFT + TAB) will bring up the Steam overlay. I have tested it a little and it seems to work smoothly. Please let me know if you have any problems with it. I have also made some changes to the puzzle selection in the Humans category, for a more coherent art style.

I've published an update which fixes a small bug involving the puzzle piece movement. Now, puzzle pieces will recenter to the cursor when picked up. Let me know about more fixes/improvements I can make, your feedback is very useful!
