Hello mythozoologists!

To celebrate being part of the first ever Games from Ireland Steam event, we've got an Irish themed content update for you all!

Head on over to the Craft tab to find a celtic druid inspired outfit, portal dolmens, ogham stones, and more! You can also play the game As Gaeilge (in Irish) by changing your language in the settings tab.

• Re-enabled Irish translations

• Optimised load times for players who have accumulated 100s of familiars
• Auto start in Windowed mode on Steam deck and disable settings that are designed for desktop experience

• Reverted the patch from earlier today due to the introduction of a critical bug

• Added some movement to the Lunar New Year lanterns, as they were looking a little stationary.
• The "conjure" button is now disabled when you're no longer able to conjure any more familiars, rather than just being unresponsive

• The settings page now correctly updates when settings are changed from elsewhere and when settings are reset to default

• Fixed an issue where the Published Author achievement was being unset even if you had correctly unlocked it
• Fixed an issue where the Trendsetter achievement was being set when you purchased an outfit, rather than when you changed to wearing it
• Fixed an issue where familiars were increasing in size incorrectly while dragging within the grimoire window

• Fixed a bug where some players who had previously played the demo were missing codex entries

• Sorting familiars now applies to both Roaming and Resting familiars. Previously it only applied to Resting ones.

• Fixed a typo in the unlock text for Flora summons

• Fixed an issue where people who'd previously played the demo were starting with zero mana and all of the summons locked

• Fixed a bug preventing players from being able to unlock the "First steps" achievement
• Added a check on opening the game to unlock any previously met achievements

Hello fellow mythozoologists!

It's winter time with the magical spirits hard at work frosting our windows and creating the snowy landscapes. And just like our friendly ghosts, we are currently working on some exciting stuff! You can expect the full version of the game to include:

• More than 50 new familiar variants! This includes two more familiar families for you to collect and a Tier 4 and 5.

• New outfits for Avia.

• Decorations and backgrounds to make your screen more cozy for your familiars.

• Full access to the upgrade shop! The shop will include various upgrades, such as fusion cost reduction and summoning speed boosts.

• More surprises yet to come!

Midwinter Spirits Festival

Speaking of winter and spirits! We are happy to announce, we're taking part in the Midwinter Spirits Steam event that is currently taking place until the 8th of December. The Familiar Findings demo is being constantly improved based on your feedback, so don't hesitate to give it another try.

Bug fixes

• Fixed an issue where the game crashed when being run outside of the compatibility layer on Linux. The game no longer needs to be run through the compatibility layer, and transparency now works as expected 🥳

• Fixed an issue where opening the settings page caused a crash for some new players

• Fixed a bug where some familiars which are not available in the demo were being displayed in the codex without a lock icon.

Twitch integration (experimental)

• Added weighting to the raffle naming mode to make it more likely for chatters who have never won to have their name selected

• Added a feature to allow players to show up to 20 familiars on screen at once. Overall mana generation will not increase with this toggle enabled.

• Allow chatters to pet other chatters' familiars using !pet @username

Irish Translations

We're thrilled to say that Familiar Findings is now available in Irish! You can change the language via the General Settings in your grimoire.

Familiar renaming improvements

• Familiar names will now be saved when pressing on any other buttons in the interface

• Fixed an issue where renaming wasn't working in windowed mode

• Fixed an issue where long names would go outside of the interface

Twitch integration (experimental)

We've added a bunch of small features to make Familiar Findings more engaging for streamers. These can all be accessed via the Twitch icon in the Settings page of your grimoire.

• !collect - Allows chatters to trigger mana collection

• !claim - Allows chatters to change the name of an unnamed familiar on-screen to match their Twitch username

• !pet - Allows chatters to trigger the pet animation for their named familiar

• Multiple rename settings for new familiars

• The ability to display familiar names above their heads when they're on screen

This is an experimental feature, so if you encounter any issues, please do reach out!

The dev team just wanted to say a big thank you for all the support we got during NextFest, especially to those who streamed or recommended our game. Seeing people enjoy our demo was so rewarding and we’re so excited to launch the full version soon.

Between now and launch we’re working round the clock to add exciting new features and updates to the game including:

• The Research Tab - here you'll find ways to speed up your progress, improve your rarity chances, and of course cosmetics!

• Finally, we've got a bunch of quality of life updates coming based on your feedback on the demo
