Updated the goal description for pure gold acquired to include the current amount earned.
With this update all of the AI art that was in the game has been updated or removed.
Updated the remaining AI pet art to be "Shadow Pets".
These are not final or indicate what the updated versions will look like, but I figured it was better to replace them with something simple than leave them be as AI art and that people would prefer this in the long run as the pet art will take a while to complete.
Unfortunately we were not able to complete any new pet sets for this update, the artist was busy.

Added pure bonuses for all optional difficulty options
Added ability to disable cleared Golden Card auto ends Challenge/Lost Legends hands once cleared
When clearing a layout with these optional difficulties on you'll see a +x% next to the base pure gained for the level
My original goal with the golden cards needing to be cleared first was my way of wanting to make the original challenge mode more challenging and different from the base game. Then as I started work on Lost Legends I decided to keep that mentality and system for the entirety of the DLC.
But that doesn't mean things need to be set in stone. I like the challenge but I also understand other people don't find it fun and would rather have a more relaxed time while playing. I thought of making it tied to \ mode only but figured just making it optional and adding a bonus incentive to using it would be the best approach.
I also took the time to add bonuses to all the other optional difficulty options.
Combo counter can now display over 100x
This is in the event someone attempts to reach such heights
Fixed issue replacing the Pets Evolved text with Pets Found text
Fixed issue with profiles getting maxed lore found when they didn't
Fixed issue where gold bags didn't add towards achievement progress
The save system has been updated so if you play on more than one device make sure the game is updated to 2.1.4 before playing on other devices
As we've stated since the DLC launched once the assets are replaced the price of the DLC will be going up. The new price will be $12.99 USD. Settled on this price point as the pet art isn't fully complete yet. There are some general QoL changes I want to add still but wasn't able to make it into this update. I'll investigate adding them in as we update the pet art over time. But for now my focus will be shifting back to Faerie Solitaire Dire once again. Thank you to everyone who's continued to support us!
Addressing issue loading profiles
Another small update, updating all the save data systems to help prevent errors.
Minor bug fix for when sending data to a card that was deleted.
This is a small update attempting to address an issue loading location data.

Sethe Howell is the artist who we're working with and did the first set of the new pet art! We're extremely grateful to Sethe for reaching out and doing this amazing job on the art!
If you're interested in seeing more of Sethe's work you can visit their Art Station or Instagram: AS: https://www.artstation.com/waywardfellar IG: @wayward_fellar They also have commissions open and if you're interested you can reach out to their email: [email protected]
Future progress will be slow due to budget constraints but when we have enough to commission another set we will do so.
Autumn
Julia
These were made by a personal friend of mine, Tiny. Unfortunately they don't have time to help out with much else and did these in their free time and I'm eternally grateful for the help they provided.
Achievement Screen
Night Faeland Screen
Lost Legend Locations 9-15
The art done for these were done by myself, fairly quickly I realized I wont be able to afford to completely redo all the art in the short term. I'm painting very simple versions that try to keep to the theme I originally wanted. I want to stress I'm not an artist so the art for these backgrounds are not going to be amazing. In the future I want to hopefully either commission brand new background or just touch up what I've done.
Lost Legend Locations 6-8 are not AI and are older art my brother had made in the past.
Fixed 2 locations with miss aligned backgrounds.
Enabled Texture Compression to reduce file size.
Abyss
Lunite
Emberite
These will most likely be updated again in the future.
World Map
Cutscenes
Removed the world map as it wasn't expressive enough to show the path the player would take in the world properly like the original. I decided to just remove it as it served no real purpose other than to try and fit the classic style. Instead it's been replaced with a simple preview of the next location the player will be going to.
I personally have disliked the cutscene assets the most. It's confusing to players and just didn't look good. These were almost done as the last step before Lost Legends release and I put pressure onto myself to match the classic style cutscenes.
For now the cutscenes are just going to be text on a black background. There is a chance I just completely remove them from the game and put the focus just on the stories of each location instead of the overall arching story I attempted to do.
Most likely in the next update we'll be increasing the price of the DLC. The amount isn't decided yet but it'll be a rough estimate for the amount of art that has been replaced. For instance if the amount of art that's been replaced is around 50% done the price will be increased to $11.99.
Once all of the art has been replaced the price of the game will be $14.99.
This is the first update for updating the AI art with new assets and I'm really happy with the pet art! I personally feel it matches the classic style of pets much closer than what I had done and can't wait to see the rest completed!
The art that I've done or chosen to use from assets I own will most likely all be replaced or touched up in the future. My main goal is to replace the AI art with my own drawn stuff for the short term. Then more professionally done versions later.
I've also added some festive themes for Christmas (these can be turned off in the toggle settings). And I want to give out a heartfelt Thank You to everyone who's supported us! Happy Holidays!

Attempting a patch for previous known issues
The steam unlocker is now blocked behind the konami code and needing a 100% base achievement progress profile. There is a warning that using it is considered cheating, so use at your own risk. To activate the steam achievement unlocker when you're on the achievement screen tap on your keyboard in order:
Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Enter
Note: "Numpad Enter" does not work.
Once entered correctly there will be a warning popup and an icon you can click to show a popup to unlock the achievements.
Edit: This system has been removed as of 2.1.1
Fixed issue where some objects weren't being deleted correctly and was causing a rare error.
There is an issue with when going to the end of level screen an error can occur
When failing to complete a hand an error can occur
Short term solution: If you have a profile with 100% base game achievement progress you can go to the achievement screen and there will be an icon on the top right of the screen that you can use to unlock the new achievements. Notice about using this unlock method: This is generally considered "cheating" for 3rd party achievement sites so use it at your own risk. This does not effect steam though so if you don't care for that then use it as you see fit. Honestly I didn't expect this sort of backlash to adding new achievements. I personally always liked when games added them with updates. But with the amount of disagreement we've gotten over adding them in with an included update I'm considering just removing them all together from steam and leaving them as in game unlocks only.
Edit: This system has been removed as of 2.1.1 and we have no plans on removing any achievements
This DLC expands the base game of Faerie Solitaire Remastered and follows the story of Autumn and her travels through the lands of Avalon!
This new adventure includes 40 new locations, over 360 new hands, dozens of new card types, new pets to find, new powers to unlock and secrets to be found!
Currently Subsoap does not have an artist and I am working on Subsoap projects on my own. So to finish this project I decided to use AI to help finish this DLC and most likely will be used for future projects unless an artist is found.
I'm a believer that if you use AI for your product then it should reduce the cost of the product for the user. Our originally planned price was going to match the base game as they're both the same size, however since I decided to use AI the price was reduced from $14.99 to $8.99.
If we find an artist to replace the AI art in the future the price will reflect that and go back up to the planned $14.99.
The majority of new backgrounds, pet art and various graphics use generative AI. If you are an artist and want to replace them with higher quality hand painted organic backgrounds? Contact us!

Some secrets to be found
Originally this DLC was much, much smaller. It was going to be more like a mappack expansion of 5-15 new locations for challenge mode. This was planned that way because I was waiting on my brother to recover from his health issues, as I got close to completely the last location at the time he was still very ill and unable to work on the game with me. So I decided to make it a bit bigger and over time I ended up making it a full length game.
In hindsight this should've been its own game but it's a bit late for that now!
Ultimately my brother stepped away from working on Subsoap so I've been working on this alone with all our other products for the last 4 or so years.
This is the first product I've worked on from start to finish solo doing the programming, art (w/ AI art assistance) and writing. Hopefully the story is interesting enough but will probably be rough around the edges.
Spares added back

Balance pass made on the original five challenge locations

There's a bunch of under the hood changes along with changes I've made to the game pre 2.1.0 that were made originally for this update.
The game file size is jumping from about 500mb to 1.6gb, this is due to me being unhappy with how the backgrounds looked with the texture compression systems we have. They had artifacts and were overall just unpleasant to look at.
I intend to take a look at how to properly address that to get the file size back down, but the game's overall file size will probably sit around 1gb still even with texture compression enabled.
