Full Steam announcements and update articles for this title.
Over the past 5 weeks we have been listening closely to your feedback and focusing on the biggest issues reported since launch. This update is one of our biggest so far and heavily focuses on onboarding, quality of life, performance, and stability improvements.
Many of these changes came directly from community feedback, so thank you for helping us improve the game.
• Save and Resume is now available during Campaign, Sandbox and Freeplay
• Added Autosave functionality. Autosaves now occur every minute and also trigger when leaving missions
• Full Tutorial and Prologue 1 rework. We completely revisited the onboarding experience to make the game easier to learn and understand
• Major performance improvements on Low and Medium quality settings
• Added Windowed mode options
• Added WASD camera movement support
• Added a full Keybind and customization menu
• Improved hard crash handling and added recovery state support from Autosaves
• Added the ability to replay completed Challenges
• Additional crash fixes and stability improvements
• Continued work on reducing rare hard crashes and improving recovery
• Multiple smaller fixes and improvements across the game
A lot of players have been asking when new content and abilities will arrive. Now that most of the major stability and launch issues have been addressed, we can finally begin shifting our focus toward new disasters and gameplay content.
With that said, the past 5 weeks have been pretty intense for both the team and myself (and honestly the last 3 years before that too), so I need to take a short break before jumping into larger content updates.
Update 1.1 is absolutely happening, but I do not have a specific ETA just yet. We will keep everyone updated as progress continues.
I will still continue monitoring feedback and pushing hotfixes as quickly as possible if needed.
Thank you again for all your feedback, patience and support.
Please consider leaving a review if you are enjoying the game. It really helps a lot.
Happy doomsday! :)

Update #1 is coming soon!
Hey all,
We are following the discussion forums and reviews very closely, and we are already working on our first update.
Here is what we have heard so far and are addressing right away:
• Tutorial feels slow and repetitive • Game difficulty is too high • Lower Skull requirements for campaign • Mission 3 is too hard • Planes and boats keep spawning from destroyed locations • Need a VSync option • Sound options not working properly • Various bugs and crashes • Some localization issues
We are aiming to release this update mid week.
These items below are a bit more complex and may take a little more time, but they are on the way:
• Some UI text is too small, especially for TV play • Saving during matches Thanks for your support, your feedback is shaping the game and we will keep pushing improvements.

Extinction Day launches April 10th
The end is near.
After years in the making, Extinction Day is coming to Steam on April 10th.
What you can expect for the 1.0 launch:
• 18 campaign missions across 4 difficulty levels • 28 unique challenge scenarios • 10+ disasters to unleash and combine • 70+ perks and upgrades • Dozens of hours of replayable destruction (some beta players already sank 60+ hours) • Improved performance
The demo has been temporarily disabled as it no longer reflects the current state of the game. We plan to bring it back later.
Oh, and no more AI placeholder textures. Everything has been replaced with a brand new art style. I’ll share more on that in a separate post very soon.
See you soon!
We have a larger update for this demo. There are tons of small changes and bug fixes, but also some major changes. Let’s break them down:
Resource Drops and Resource Collection No more double click madness. The game will now spawn an orb with buttons directly available to choose the resource. Orbs also do not trigger major notification events but will instead light up the region in which they spawn, in case you missed one. The resource collection now feels much more natural and less annoying.
Corruption Points Each influence item now also awards a small amount of Corruption Points. You can still buy larger Corruption Point packs, but you will find that you spend less time chasing or purchasing items you do not want.
Economy and Economy Influence Items There is a new tech tree that enables you to play with the economy and resource items of the game in the influence menu, replacing some of the older and unbalanced economy items.
You will also notice that territories award fewer Souls by default and that abilities are now slightly more expensive. This is to enable better pacing of the game. The game has been rebalanced to fit these changes.
Ark and Shuttle This is mainly cosmetic, but we now have a new 3D model for both the Ark and the space shuttle. The older Ark was a placeholder asset. The shuttles now also follow real orbit trajectories.
And more… Tons of small fixes, improvements, small UI changes, tutorial updates, and more.
Hey All,
We are listening closely to reviews and feedback and it was clearly indicated that we need to add a better tutorial as well as a better way to explain all the mechanics.
We added a “step by step” tutorial in Prologue 1 and Prologue 2 but we kept it very short. However, we also added a full guide explaining all the core mechanics of the game. This guide will also evolve over time.
Press TAB at any time to access it.
Please let us know what you think!
Bonus: Major Bug Fix:
Bug where disasters would not cause any damage. Finally, we caught that one!
If you enjoy the game, please do not forget to leave us a review in the Steam Store! 🙂
Happy Doomsday!
Hey All,
We already did a bunch of updates over the last week for the following issues and features:
What We Fixed/Added:
Bug where the game would be stuck at 99% progress and never reach the “win” condition.
Bug where all the menus (Disasters/Territories/etc.) would become “unresponsive”.
Added Key bindings for Active Abilities.
Other various/smaller issues.
Potential Bug Still There:
Bug where the Disasters don’t cause any damage. If you encounter this issue, please make sure you have the latest version (uninstall/reinstall) and let us know if you still have the issue.
Next Major Update
We are already working on a full-fledged in-game “Guide” as well as incorporating “Tutorial Steps” in Prologue1 and Prologue2.
Thank you so much for your support and for filling out our feedback forms! We are listening very closely to all feedback forms, reviews, and forum discussions.
If you enjoy the game, please don’t forget to leave us a review in the Steam Store! 🙂
Happy Apocalypse.
