This build fixes a pesky issue where certain weekly challenges will fail to reload if they are exited in the middle of the game and then re-entered. It also fixes a bug reported in multiplayer that was believed to be leading to occasional desyncs.

This update fixes a bug in multiplayer that was happening when the AI took over for a player that left. Also fixes an obscure case for Last Stand that could cause a freeze.

We've fixed two major bugs in multiplayer that were happening when players would put the game into the background during a live match, and added a system to better recreate multiplayer bugs when they are reported by players.

We've enabled the ability to do live events and make certain IAP free for periods of time, as well as have patched a couple of bugs and put in more robust multiplayer debugging capabilities.

We've fixed many UI issues and bugs in this version. In addition, we've added in functionality to allow for free multiplayer and singleplayer timed events in the future.

Optimized Push Notifications for Steam so that they don't send while a user is active in an asynchronous game and only send when they are not in the game. Fixed a few outstanding UI bugs related to Fat Tissue/Cooperation Chains.

We found some issues with the AI when it was being added to multiplayer games, should now be fixed.

Evolution: Flight, an expansion for Evolution, introduces flying species into the ecosystem. Now your species can swoop on unsuspecting prey from above, fly away from predators, or soar to a new location when food is scarce. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/34270933/78f3a26edbb326bf24e6352f31d56b4f8fc39f09.png Flight opens an array of strategic options as you've always got the option to make a flying species. The Cliffs introduce a new food source only accessible to Flying Species. Gain control of the skies and the Cliffs are yours alone. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/34270933/d3c5febf7368d05f5f8e3f3b972bdfe3c295279e.png 6 new Traits add thematic (and seemingly overpowered!) Trait combinations when paired with Flight, but many come with tradeoffs. A flock of Brood Parasites with Nesting gives extra Population and Food, but leaves your Species defenseless. Will the ability to fly propel you to new heights, or will it bring your downfall?

With the increase in Climate Matchmade Games, we've found and patched a couple of pesky bugs in the multiplayer.

AntiSocial Species refuse to join the group, and find their own Food where the herd doesn't go. An Apex Predator adds a Carnivore and massive Size, but is unable to attack small Species. A Carnivore may attack Quills once, however it will never make that mistake again. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/34270933/b421a239e40692089cc001ed2d23bea3e9bba2b8.png You can add any combination of these cards to AI games, or make your own deck for Pass & Play and Private games. You can also add one to public multiplayer games, which is then added into the combined deck everyone plays from. In addition, when you invite folks to your private game, they are able to also use any purchases or expansions you have active.

This is a fun one. Each day, you get one attempt to set a high score the Daily Challenge. The Daily Challenge is a one-round user-designed challenge with Cards from any Promo Pack or Expansion. It only takes a few minutes to play, and gives everyone a shot at the leaderboard, you don't have to grind to make it. In addition, there's a Challenge Editor feature in there to create new Daily Challenges. Create your best challenge and submit it, and others can play it and rate it. The highest rated challenges will then become a Daily Challenge for others to test themselves against. We've also updated our multiplayer with a new backend system that we hope will be much more robust at handling folks dropping games and timing out, along with other various bug fixes. Check back every day for the days' new challenge and set a record for having the highest average placement each day of the week. Get interrupted by your annoying boss? Get back to the game after the zoom call. Want to play with your friend in Australia but it's 3 in the morning there? No problem. Play anywhere, anytime without needing to be online at the same time. We've heard your concerns on making sure multiplayer is bulletproof. Our lead developer has rebuilt the mutliplayer system from the ground up, with a robust architecture capable of always recovering the game state. Jump online and give it a try!

Three more new traits have arrived at the Watering Hole, to complete Promo Pack 1. We've heard your concerns about buying Cards individually, so we've put all of the Promo Cards together in a discounted pack. You will get the discount and the bundle for the remaining cards even if you've already purchased Venom or Gigantism. Timid: Sometimes being careful pays off! This shy Trait is invulnerable to attack as it stays hidden until everyone else has eaten.
Insectivore: Insectivores find bugs among the plants, giving them the ability to eat massive amounts of food.
Trampling: Controlling the Food supply can be more powerful than any Carnivore. Squash excess food when it suits you with Trampling!

Promo Cards and Balance You don't need to have any of these cards to play Evolution, these are simply to enhance the experience and provide new ways to play. We wanted to make sure they don't give any advantage in multiplayer, so all players in a multiplayer game get to use them when they are added to the deck. We hope you enjoy this new content.

Our biggest addition since launch: New Promo Traits are now available for purchase in the game. In a balanced ecosystem, each new Trait impacts all other Traits as well. You'll need new strategies to survive against creatures using these mighty traits. Buy them on Steam, use them on any platform. Big changes are going into effect for the start of the October Tournament today. Yes, we've got a gorgeous new Hackbill avatar for you Nobel Laureates to covet, but we're also making two changes to Elo's: 1. Elo penalties for quitting games- Players intentionally leaving a game will be treated as a forfeit in elo scores. This should help stop the bad behavior of folks abandoning games early to avoid a loss. 2. Elo's adjusted at the start of each Tournament- By popular demand, we're adjusting Elo's at the start of each tournament. All player's will start the new tourney each month with their elo adjusted halfway back to 1500. If you finished the September tourney with an elo of 1900, you'll start the October tourney with an elo of 1700. If you didn't play in September, you'll start at 1500. This should allow new players to climb to the top of the elo leaderboard, and ensure only active players can win a tournament. Note- Elo Leaderboards are not visible in the live game just yet. Those of you in the beta can see them, and you're still welcome to join! (see instructions at the top of #betaannouncements in Discord). Up to four players can play a local multiplayer game on the same device.
Swap players in the hotseat for trait play.
All players Feed at the same time, even from the side and top positions.

Hey All, We've got a beautiful new avatar for anyone that makes it to the top of the rankings in June, the Harpy Eagle. To earn this predator, work your way to rank 1, Nobel Laureates, before June 30th. As a reminder, each singleplayer win earns you one Discovery up until rank 15, and a multiplayer win can earn as many as five discoveries to move up quickly. Ranking Changes We’ve made some much requested changes to rankings: We added rank numbers and a rank ladder into the game, so you can see right where you stand. We’ve made it so in multiplayer games, if a person leaves, the remaining players automatically will receive a Discovery for a win over them. We’ve also fixed a lot of multiplayer bugs, including that nasty “unmatchable” bug that made it so some folks couldn’t match. April Tournament Begins The new month brings a start to a new seasonal tournament. All players in the Tournament Ranks (ranks 1-9) will start the new tournament at rank 6 or rank 9. We've added a new exclusive avatar in for those that make it to rank #1, Nobel Laureate, in the April Tourney.
