Full Steam announcements and update articles for this title.
This is the studio's 50th newsletter since we started sending them out (March 2018). To celebrate the occasion, I'm going to host a huge special giveaway, so be sure to stick around until the end for your chance to win the big prize!
I’d like to start by introducing and thanking two amazing people who recently joined the studio: Emma and Fanette. They’re incredible assets and are producing an insane amount of artwork for After the Wane. If you’re on our Discord, Nicolas, the art director, regularly shares their creations! If you’d like to check out their work, here are their Instagram accounts:
Emma : https://www.instagram.com/emmable.art/
Fanette : https://www.instagram.com/fanette_terrasa/
Speaking of After the Wane, we’re closing in on 7,000 wishlists! This is a record number for a game from our studio. We never would have thought it possible to reach such a number, it means that nearly 7,000 of you are looking forward to playing After the Wane, and we’re incredibly grateful for that. If you haven’t taken the time to add our game to your wishlist yet, please know that this is an extremely important form of support on Steam. If you have a few seconds, this is the best way to support us!
We recently participated in the Storyteller’s Festival and Steam Next Fest in June 2026. These two events gave more than 100 influencers and streamers the chance to make videos about After the Wane, and we’re incredibly touched by the kind words we’ve received. We’ve selected a few clips and compiled them into this short video. Feel free to check it out!
We’re already booked for a few upcoming events, so stay tuned—there might be some exclusive content coming your way…
We’ve also added the Pirate Indie Games Show badge to the After the Wane page; it’s a festival we participated in back in June. Don’t you think it’s super cute? Personally, I love it!
As for the demo, we’ve received over 30 reviews, with more than 96% of them positive. That’s just incredible! No Nova-box game has ever generated this much excitement before. You’ve shown a lot of love for the rotoscoping and the theme of our upcoming game. We’re thrilled that you’re enjoying exploring Paris alongside Lena and the curious voice in her head… If you haven’t already, please take a moment to leave us a quick Steam review of the demo. We always love reading your feedback firsthand (and it motivates the whole team to make the best game possible for you).
If you have a few minutes, we’d also love for you to take our survey about the game’s opening—your feedback helps us a lot in improving it: https://forms.gle/K92VAHhYZqzUbXnn6
Along the Edge will celebrate its 10th anniversary on October 12, 2026… Remember, we made the game free at the beginning of 2026, and more than 2 million of you downloaded it. Just a heads-up: we have a few little surprises planned for the game’s anniversary…
To celebrate this 50th giveaway, I’ll see you on our Discord tomorrow (Friday, July 10). I’ll be giving away a massive bundle of all the Nova-box games along with their soundtracks! There will also be two Switch/Steam keys up for grabs for two other people.
So don’t hesitate to join us now so you can participate tomorrow!

Antonio, Marketing & Community ManagerHello, everyone!
Today, I’m sharing the studio’s 48th newsletter with you. Time flies: it’s already late April, and production on our next game, After the Wane, is well underway. But behind the scenes, we’re also working on many other things.
Here's all the latest news from the studio!
We’ve finally made it! After months of hard work, during which I fought on all fronts to encourage you to try and review End of Lines, we’ve reached our goal: the game has just surpassed the 50-reviews mark on Steam. This is a huge step forward that will help us give our studio’s titles even greater visibility.
Being an independent studio is a daily challenge, and gaining visibility remains our biggest challenge given our limited resources. But thanks to your likes, your wishlists, your support on Instagram, Bluesky, and TikTok, your presence on Discord, your shares, and word of mouth, you help us reach a wider audience every day. We are infinitely grateful to you. Thank you again.
Along the Edge, Seers Isle, and Echoes are on sale for one week starting today. Take this opportunity to discover our games or complete your collection.
Check out our entire catalog and special offers on our Steam page.
In early April, our illustrator Nicolas took part in Dance Week in Bordeaux alongside SCHINI’S, a contemporary dance company heavily influenced by physical theater.
This was an opportunity for Nicolas to discuss After the Wane game, whose central theme is dance. This highlight allowed us to meet many dancers. As you know, the game’s development relies on the work of artists who are filmed so their movements can be reproduced using rotoscoping, as well as on the talent of dancers to create the magnificent scenes you’ll see in the game. If you haven’t already, be sure to add the game to your wishlist: it’s the best way to support us with just one click.
In fact, there’s a 20-minute demo available so you can try it out. So you have no excuse not to give the studio’s next title a shot.
Krystine created and donated this beautiful painting, inspired by After the Wane, to the studio. We are deeply moved by the beauty of this piece. A huge thank you to her. If you’d like to follow her work, find her on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/krystine.art/
We need your help! If you've played the demo of After the Wane, please fill out this form to help us improve the game. A small gift awaits you at the end of the survey.
Link to the form: https://forms.gle/qpbdWBQMNG7rXvTX6
And that wraps up this 48th newsletter. Take care, and we’ll see you very soon.
Have a great week!
Antonio, Marketing & Community Manager

See you soon! We have a few surprises in store... Stay tuned and take care.
Antonio, Marketing & Community Manager
Hello, everyone!
It's the big day! This Thursday, March 5, 2026, while the entire industry has its eyes fixed on the Pégases awards ceremony, we've decided to mark the occasion: the demo for After the Wane is officially available!
We can't wait to hear your first impressions. For this launch, we've decided to go big with a dedicated demo page, separate from the main page.
This is a strategic choice: by downloading the demo and, above all, leaving a review on this specific page, you give us immense clout. This boosts our visibility on Steam and helps us appear in recommendations to players around the world.
Don't forget to add the game to your wishlist! It's a huge support for independent developers.
We still have lots of surprises in store for you between now and release. The marketing campaign promises to be intense, and if you want to take a peek behind the scenes, devlog 1 and devlog 2 are now online.
A huge thank you for your support; we look forward to hearing from you!
See you soon,
Antonio, Marketing et Community Manager
Today, I wanted to share three important pieces of news with you regarding the studio. Development of After the Wane continues at full speed, but that doesn't stop us from continuing to take care of our older titles, so enjoy!
All Nova-box titles are compatible with Steam Deck. We have configured our games with special settings so that the touchscreen is as functional as the controller buttons. With the recent surge in popularity of Along the Edge after January, the number of users has skyrocketed on Steam Deck, and we are delighted to have received Steam Deck Verified certification.
If you encounter any difficulties on Steam Deck, please let us know.
We know that the community loves content that enriches the worlds of their favorite games. That's why we've expanded the worlds of Seers Isle, Across the Grooves, and End of Lines by adding Community items. Until now, Along the Edge was the only game to feature them.
As a reminder, Community items are items such as emojis, trading cards, badges, and profile background images that you can purchase on Steam with Steam Points.
For Seers Isle, you will find 6 emojis, 7 trading cards, and 3 Steam profile background images available for purchase in the store with your points.
For Across the grooves, you will find 6 emojis, 6 trading cards, and 3 Steam profile background images available for purchase in the store with your points.
For End of Lines, you will find 6 emojis, 7 trading cards, and 6 Steam profile background images available for purchase in the store with your points.
All games also include several badges to collect and merge!
Here is a brief overview of some emojis:
Yes, we love them too. In fact, I'll probably be using them much more often in future Steam news!
The second devlog for After the Wane, the studio's upcoming game, has been released. If you want to learn how rotoscoping works, feel free to visit the game's Steam page to read about it and enjoy the many GIFs available (yes, there are exclusive images).
Of course, we're counting on you to support and wishlist the project to help us develop this title. The public demo is coming very soon, and we can't wait to hear from you!
That's all for this news update. Thank you all for following along. See you again very soon...
Antonio, Marketing & Community Manager
I hope you’re all doing well and that the start of this year has been a successful one for you. Here at the studio, we’ve been working tirelessly to make this year truly magical, just as I promised in our December newsletter. The time has finally come to bring out the big project!
We’re kicking things off in a big way with the launch of the Steam page for our next game: After the Wane. To put it simply: this is the most ambitious project in the studio’s history.
Nico, our illustrator, has done a monumental job integrating a feature many of you have been asking for: "drawings that move!" We decided to incorporate rotoscoped sequences into the game, and the result is absolutely stunning. I’ll let you check out the teaser on Steam to see the work for yourself.
If you want to support the studio and this new project, the best way to do so is by adding the game to your Wishlist right now:
Our second announcement will delight those who have been following us from afar but haven't taken the plunge yet. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Along the Edge (already!), the game will be free to download for 48 hours.
Yes, you read that right: once you claim it, it’s yours to keep forever. This is our way of thanking you for your support since 2016. Feel free to spread the word to the entire world so everyone can discover this title!
Stay tuned, as more surprises involving Along the Edge are planned throughout the year...
For our third and final announcement, please note that the entire Nova-box catalog is currently on sale. It’s the perfect time to complete your collection while directly supporting the studio.
Our original soundtracks are also discounted: the perfect opportunity to take our musical universes with you wherever you go. We sincerely hope you have an unforgettable time playing our games, which we’ve created with as much love and passion as hard work.
The studio still has so much to reveal, and many surprises are still "in the works." If you’d like to join our galaxy to chat with us, ask questions, or follow the evolution of our projects, join us here:
To wrap up this series of announcements, we will be regularly publishing devlogs right here on Steam and on Discord to dive deep into the creation of After the Wane.
The idea was to continue exploring the themes addressed in the previous games of the series, Along the Edge and Across the Grooves, which question the notion of identity. Focusing on the world of dance allowed me to go further by also examining the concept of embodiment. The unique relationship with physicality that dancers maintain is a theme that seemed to amplify what I wanted to convey and the questions I wanted to ask the readers. At the same time, I felt that this theme would be perfectly suited for our medium and Nico's illustration style, while also inspiring greatly. Finally, approaching dance as a magical ritual was a way to explore another aspect of the occult, which is also one of the key themes of this series.
— Geoffroy, the writer
To end on a high note, here is a creative study sheet of Lena, the heroine of After the Wane. This document gives you a glimpse into the visual research and the soul that Nico breathes into the character.
The success of an independent studio relies above all on its community. Please don't hesitate to share, like, and comment on the After the Wane announcement across your social media. Every wishlist and every share means the world to us and helps us bring visibility to this project that is so close to our hearts.
Have a wonderful day, and see you very soon for the rest of the festivities!

We'd like to take advantage of the holiday season to take a look back on 2025 and to share what's coming in 2026 with you. This year has been marked with intense activity and some great breakthroughs for the studio!
Production of our next title is coming along nicely. The demo is almost ready, and the teaser video is getting its last-minute touches. We're progressing at a steady pace, and to thank you for your continuing support, here's an exclusive illustration from this highly anticipated title.
In February, End of Lines received a major update. We overhauled the balance of the resources system and fixed several minor bugs, thereby enhancing the overall experience.
We're pleased to announce that Echoes, our latest release, finally crossed the threshold of 10 reviews submitted on Steam in October. This step is vital for small indie studios like ours, since it enables better visibility of the game in Steam's catalog.
For us indie devs, your feedback is very precious: it's your direct input. We strongly encourage you to share with us what you liked—or not—about our games via a review. If you've already written a review, then many thanks. Please be aware that even a brief comment on any or all of our games counts; you don't need to write an essay (though we would enjoy reading it). Our next goal is to reach the 50 reviews mark on End of Lines, which would be an incredible holiday gift.
This year, we also released or re-released free demos for End of Lines and Echoes. They offer an amazing opportunity to get a preview of these games before deciding whether to buy them.
To keep in touch with you, we have launched our Bluesky account and our community Discord server this year. We warmly invite you to join us there so you don't miss out on any of our news, which promises to be particularly exciting in 2026.
In September 2025, the Nova-box team welcomed a new member: Antonio (the author of this message, by the way!). If you want to get in touch or chat with me, I would be delighted. I'm particularly active on Discord.
We have participated in several major events this year;
Spawn in April in Angoulême.
The Game Conf in October in Angoulême.
Animasia also in October, in Bordeaux.
It was a pleasure meeting and exchanging with every one of you. Your smiles, your feedback, and your support are very precious to our team.
Our Instagram account saw spectacular growth, from 400 followers in September to nearly a thousand today! If you haven't already done it, we strongly encourage you to follow us on \.
By the way, we would like to extend our thanks to @tiboudouboudou, @ateliersento, @cyroiink, @spxderily, @giwwiii et à @ocktoper for their unwavering support towards our small studio and for supporting the revitalisation campaign of our Instagram account.
As tradition dictates, Nova-box is participating in the Steam Winter Sale this year. All our games are discounted for the occasion, so it's the perfect time to complete your collection with our bundle. It contains all our games and automatically adjusts itself according to which games you own and which ones you're missing. Moreover, you'll get a bonus discount on top of the sale.
Well, 2026 should be one of the most crazy and dynamic years for the studio. We're announcing our next game soon. We really hope you'll like it!
Along the Edge, our very first Steam release, will turn 10 years old! You can expect festivities to celebrate the studio's greatest success.
Finally, other surprises will be spread out over the year that we hope will amaze you even more.
All that remains is for us to wish you a very happy holiday season. Take care of yourselves and your loved ones. I look forward to seeing you again in 2026. Our team will recharge its batteries and prepare to make you even prouder to support us after all these years.
To conclude, here's a small illustration of Arthur's cat from Echoes, ready for Xmas and eager to open their present. Oh, and by the way, if you were to give them a name, what would you choose?
Happy holidays to everyone, from the entire team.
Hello everyone!
Today I’d like to talk about something everyone can relate to: translation. As you know, our games are available in French and English, with a few exceptions (German and Chinese for Along the Edge; Latin American Spanish for Across the Grooves).
And yes, let’s be honest, we would love to translate our games into more languages so that as many players as possible can enjoy our stories. Unfortunately, translation costs for games of our scale (often over 100,000 words) are completely out of reach for a studio our size.
Maybe one day—if one of our games becomes as popular as a certain visual novel involving a princess (wink), we’ll be able to hire professional translators to bring our works to more languages.
In the meantime, there is a more DIY way to make it happen. You can translate our games yourself and add your translation directly into the game, without needing any coding knowledge. Here a small tutorial for you:
Go to your Steam library and click the Nova-box game you want to translate (you can do this for any of our games).
Right-click the game and select “Properties…”
Go to “Installed Files” then click “Browse.”
Open the folder “GameName_Data” (e.g., Echoes_Data), then “StreamingAssets”, then “Locales.”
Duplicate “en-US” if you want to translate from English, or “fr-FR” if you want to translate from French.
Rename the duplicated folder to the language you want (e.g., es-ES for Spanish).
Open your new folder, then open “config.json” (using Notepad, for instance) and change both “DisplayName” and “Locale” according to the new language.
Open “localizable.strings” and you can start translating the game directly by editing the French or English text depending on your source. Save your work when you’re done.
Now launch your game, select your new language, and—magic—you’ve just created a new translation!
Join our Discord, which now has more than 250 members! You can also drop by simply to chat, share fanart, or get exclusive announcements about our upcoming game:
JOIN THE NOVA-BOX DISCORD
For Seers Isle, Across the Grooves and Echoes, you will find an extra “ui.strings” file to translate; this file is integrated directly in “localizable.strings” for Along the Edge and End of Lines.
The current font only supports Latin characters (so no Cyrillic, Greek, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc.).
If you go to GameName_Data / StreamingAssets / fonts, you can add your own custom font. Then edit the “Config.json” file inside your new language folder (e.g., es-ES) and replace the original font name with the exact name of your added font.
In Config.json, you can also adjust the font size by editing the number after “Scale.” Be careful: this value is a multiplier. Setting it to 2 will double the font size and may break parts of the layout. Try 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, or even 0.9 / 0.8 for gentler adjustments.
You are free to use your own wording. However, if you change large portions of the original text, we kindly ask that you do not redistribute it publicly. Our games were written with care and passion, and we hope you’ll respect our work on this point.
That’s it for this little translation tutorial! We are incredibly grateful for your love and support after all these years. Take care, and see you very soon!
Antonio Davisseau, Your Community & Marketing Manager
Hi everyone!
Nova-box was founded on October 16th, 2007, and today we’re celebrating the studio’s 18th anniversary! It’s a pretty special day for us. If we’re still here, working hard to bring you the best games we can, it’s all thanks to you and your incredible support over the years. We’ve already released five games that have, we hope, amazed you, made you dream and maybe even made you cry. We’re so grateful to have you with us on this journey.
Here are a few character sheets from our archives:
SEERS ISLE
ACROSS THE GROOVES
END OF LINES
I’d also like to take this opportunity to remind you about Echoes, the very first game by Nova-box, which got a second life in 2024 with a brand-new remastered edition. Unfortunately, the game didn’t receive the love we hoped it would. Yet its dark atmosphere, mysterious characters, and haunting story should have been strong assets.
I’m not asking you to buy the game, but know that there’s a playable demo available. Give Echoes a try. Take a bit of your time and give it a chance. I truly believe it’s a good game, and that it deserves a place in your heart.
If you already own one of our games, you should know that we also have a big bundle including all of them! For the next two weeks, this bundle is on sale and if you already have one of our games, its price will be automatically deducted. It’s truly the perfect time to complete your collection and try all our titles.
And if you’d like to support us even more, we also have the soundtracks available, beautiful gems to accompany you in your everyday life.
In the coming days, we’ll also be launching a series of giveaways across all our social media, where you can win Steam keys for our games! So don’t forget to follow us to stay up to date with all the latest news from the studio.

Even if you already own our games, it’s a great opportunity to gift them to your friends. It’s our way of thanking you for your support and celebrating our anniversary properly!
Finally, I can’t reveal much yet, but know that we’re working extremely hard on our next game. All I can say for now is that it will be even more stunning and wild than our previous titles. We’ll be sharing secret details with our newsletter subscribers!

Oh, and to finish, here’s a special illustration for our anniversary, created by Nicolas, our artist. This is Liz, a mysterious character from Echoes.
