Patch 2.03 is live!
This update brings a round of polish and fixes across the game, including updated HUD improvements, minor animation updates, visual and audio fixes, and overall performance and stability improvements. We’ve also addressed GPU-related issues (including AMD cards) and made optimizations across multiple chapters.
As this is our last patch before the holidays, we want to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who’s played, shared feedback, and supported the game so far - it genuinely means a lot to the team💙
We’ll be taking a short holiday break, but more updates and improvements are planned after the holidays, so stay tuned. Until then, enjoy the patch and happy holidays!🎄✨
This week's patch brings several fixed to issues players have been reporting with the Enhanced Edition update, most notably to crashes on 5000 and 6000 series AMD CPUs, as well as to a couple of relics that weren't behaving as intended.
White attacks from enemies are now interrupted by Ryn’s Heavy Attack.
Fixed an issue where the color of a ward would change when reloading.
Tutorials now show correct bindings if the player has remapped them.
Removed a duplicate relic collectible.
Tessellation can now be toggled on and off.
Cor no longer gets stuck on the slides in Chapter 1.
Enemies no longer get stuck on edges and cliffs after shifting during combat.
Fixed an issue where Abram’s Buddy Boost would break causing player to not be able to proceed forward.
Fixed an issue where Abram’s behaviour before Buddy Boost would break the character causing visual issues.
Fixed an issue where the wrong decal texture would cause Ryn to fall off the path.
Removed the ability to the Dalsman introduction cutscene, as it was causing issues.
Added a constant Glimmerweave counter to the UI.
Abram no longer gets left behind in chapter 3 due to him being stuck in the “exploration” state.
Added ultrawide support to the Sarcophagus scene in Chapter 4.
Having the Heart of the Reckless relic equipped no longer causes the player to die during the drain introduction in chapter 1.
The boat is no longer affected by the time swap ability in chapter 9.
Ryn and Abram are no longer misaligned in chapter 3 cinematics.
Disabled certain options on 5000 and 6000 series AMD GPUs that were causing crashes on start-up.
Added blockers to stop Ryn from dashing to enemies in air.
Abram no longer gets stuck in environments during specific finishers in combat.
Added a blocker so Ryn is no longer able to drain when sliding into combat.
Effects and texture quality is now saved correctly.
Cor no longer walks off of platforms while they’re being shifted.
Fixed an issue where Ryn would get stuck while mantling over a decal in chapter 3.
Abram now does not disappear or get stuck during a buddy boost in chapter 6.
Reloading during boat entry now interrupts the entry and you reload to the docks instead of back into the animation.
Frame generation no longer resets when opening up the game.
Azure Conversion Stone relic no longer damages Ryn while out of combat.
Rune of Aegis relic now works as intended.
Heart of Recklessness relic now works as intended.
Fixed several instances of FPS dropping throughout the game.
Adjusted several death volumes throughout the game.
Fixed an issue with one of the Relics where damage reduction bonus would be incorrectly calculated.
Resolved an issue with the text on one of the Relics displaying the wrong percentage modifiers
Fixed Azure conversion stone Relic being able to kill you while using a cairn if the mana you gained was more than your current mana
Ensure Azure conversion stone Relic doesn’t convert health into mana when you are out of combat
Fixed an issue where the camera could lock in place if you skipped a Vista scene while the camera was transitioning
DLSS Plugin Updated to newest version
Certain POIs fixed to now support widescreen
Fixed an issue where if you reset the game as Ryn was entering the boat, upon reload you could become stuck in a strange state
Resolved an issue where changing outfits could result in the visuals indicating you have an active charge to disappear

For the last few months, we’ve been going through the mountains of feedback you guys have given us since release. We’ve been seeing what we can do to improve on frequently highlighted points of frustration; what we can do to add in features you felt were missing for the game to feel complete. And today, we’re happy to release the culmination of that work, with this Enhanced Edition update for Echoes of the End.
The full patch notes will be linked below, but some highlights include:
A brand new equipment system that lets you mix and match cosmetic outfits with relics that modify your stats and abilities.
A combat overhaul that takes the changes already made in our first combat update and pushes them even further.
A complete rework of Ryn’s core animation set, designed to tackle the feeling of “floatiness” and detachment from the world.
A redesign of the game’s first chapter and tutorial experience, designed to get you into the flow of the story quicker.
A reduction in menial interactions.
New Game+
And so much more.

Whether you’re returning to Aema or stepping into it for the first time, we hope you enjoy the Enhanced Edition as much as we’ve enjoyed creating it.
We just pushed a hotfix to HDR compatibility. This hotfix addresses two issues, one stemming from compatibility with color blindness adjustment, and another related to certain UI elements corrupting the in-game image.
If you run into further problems with HDR compatibility after downloading this update, please reach out to us at [email protected] with your issue.
Patch 1.05 is now live on all platforms, bringing a number of fixes and smaller updates to the player experience. Check out the full patch notes below, and keep the feedback coming!
Meanwhile, the team is working towards a substantial update that we’re very excited to share with you all in the near future. Keep your eyes open for more information on that, coming soon!
We've just published Patch 1.04 which brings forward highly requested features including HDR support, chapter select and toggles to hints. In addition, by popular request, we've also reduced the damage taken from enemies for story mode.
We've also fixed a number of defects reported to us. We are continuing to monitor your feedback and plan to release a bigger update in the coming weeks!

We've just published Patch 1.03, which brings forward an array of fixes for reported issues, as well as some smaller overall improvements.
Meanwhile, we continue working on a larger set of updates and quality of life features coming in next week. We had aimed to have HDR added to all hardware with this patch, but had to delay it to next week due to some incorrect interactions between HDR and colour-blind settings.
We will also be sharing a roadmap very soon to provide you with a good overview of the incoming updates and improvements ahead, incorporating your feedback and suggestions. In the meantime, see you in Aema!
This hotfix resolves an issue with the boat in chapter 4 disappearing. Thankfully it has now been found.
Tomorrow marks ten days since we released Echoes of the End, and what a whirlwind it’s been! We’ve been absolutely thrilled with the support and reception we’ve received so far, but make no mistake, we’re listening to your feedback, too, and this patch, now live, is the biggest we’ve done yet.
This update includes some considerable improvements to combat to make it feel more fluid and responsive, including the ability to cancel out of attacks into a dodge or parry, and some changes to how the camera and slow motion effects react to your actions.

Tomorrow marks a week since the launch of Echoes of the End, but that doesn’t mean we’ve been resting on our laurels! After last week's updates, the team has been hard at work reviewing more of your feedback on combat and other issues you've encountered since launch, and we’ll be rolling out two more updates this week in response.
The first, coming tomorrow (please refer to the update at the bottom of the post), focuses on stability and polish, fixing several crashes, soft locks, and other technical issues players have reported, such as missing terrain on certain hardware. You can expect improvements to a few of our boss encounters as well, with Skuggi in particular receiving balance tweaks (as well as a fix to a rare bug causing players to not receive a skill point upon defeating him), and Zara’s shield gaining clearer visuals and sound effects to communicate its function to the player. Additional improvements include more forgiving dodge timing, larger subtitles, and some chapter-specific fixes to prevent unintended skips or progression blocks.
Full patch notes will follow when the patch releases tomorrow, but the changes to dodge timing in particular are the first step in a more thorough combat update arriving on Thursday, that we believe will go far to address some of the issues players have been reporting there.
Alongside these updates, we're looking into other areas that matter to you guys (such as fixes to ultrawide cutscenes, HDR and DLSS framegen), and will keep you updated on each of these as we move forward.

UPDATE: We were unfortunately not able to test the patch for today (Tuesday) to a point where we were satisfied with pushing it out to the public. Instead of risking a patch that may introduce further issues, we are combining it with Thursday's larger combat update. We thank you for the understanding and support you've shown so far, and hope you will continue to enjoy your journeys through Aema as we continue to work to improve your experience with Echoes of the End.
As we mentioned in our patch notes yesterday, we've been hard at work implementing and testing a fix to the shader precompilation issues that have caused some players to experience hitches and stuttering during gameplay, especially in the game's earlier chapters. Today's update (which is now live!) should go far to address these issues, but we encourage you to let us know if you still encounter hitches during gameplay after updating.

The day 3 patch is live! This patch addresses some of the critical issues that have been reported since the game launched a couple of days ago. You can expect another patch coming tomorrow addressing the shader precompilation issues that have been causing visual hitches for some players, in particular in the game's earliest chapters.

It’s been a busy couple of days here at the Myrkur Games studio, and we want to start by thanking you all for the incredible support you’ve shown the game! As we mentioned in our last post, we’ve been keeping a close eye on the performance issues some players have reported, particularly hitches and stutters in the PC build caused by shaders not being captured correctly for precompilation. We have found the source of the problem, which should address stutter issues caused by shaders being compiled during play.
Tomorrow we’ll be implementing and testing these changes, and we’re confident we can deliver them to you on Friday, just in time for a smooth weekend of gaming. In the meantime, you can expect another patch tomorrow addressing several other reported issues.

The game has been live for around five hours now, and as expected we're seeing user feedback pouring in! We're thrilled to see you all finally be able to enjoy Ryn's story, but unfortunately we are seeing that some of you are experiencing some performance issues, particularly in the game's earlier chapters.
We want to assure you that we are actively looking into these reports and will be moving forward with patches to address this rapidly. To help us with this, it would be extremely useful if you would report any performance hitches you experience here in the discussions for this news post, ideally including the following:
Where in the game you experienced them.
What graphic settings you are running the game on (including quality settings, resolution, DLSS or other).
Your hardware specs (including CPU, GPU and RAM).
Thank you all once more for your support on this adventure, and we hope we can quickly address whatever issues you're facing so you can get back to Aema as soon as possible!
UPDATE: We have identified the source of the problem regarding hitches and stutters caused by shaders not being captured correctly for precompilation and are confident we have found a solution. As it turns out, the day 1 patch is already live! Don't worry if you just downloaded the game, it was updated before you even bought it so you shouldn't have to worry about downloading an update.

This is it! After years of hard work, Echoes of the End is now available to the public! It’s been a journey beyond compare, and we couldn’t be happier with where we are today. But the work doesn’t stop yet! There will be a Day 1 patch dropping in just a few hours, and in the coming days, weeks and months we’ll be continuing to update and fix any issues you guys come across as you play (though hopefully they will be minimal!)

From watching players try out our earliest prototypes and demos at places like GDC and Gamescom way back in 2018 and 2019, to now, seeing you all engage with our content and trailers as we’re finally on the verge of releasing a game that we hope feels personal, meaningful, and most importantly of all, fun.
If this is the first you’re hearing of it, Echoes of the End is an action-adventure game that follows the journey of Ryn, a ranger of Noi Syrouve, on a quest to rescue her brother and stop a brewing invasion. You’ll find yourself navigating a landscape full of beauty and danger, facing powerful enemies in deadly combat that emphasizes melee combos and devastating magic, and building relationships with characters who are just as complex as the world they inhabit.

We've been documenting that journey on our YouTube channel since as early as 2018, and now, as we kick off the countdown to release (stay tuned for more on that soon!) we're taking a look behind the scenes.

Set in the original fantasy world of Aema, Echoes of the End is a cinematic third-person action-adventure game that blends fast-paced combat, puzzle-solving, and exploration with a grounded, character-focused narrative. Inspired by the dramatic landscapes of Iceland, Aema is a harsh, ancient land, scarred by the horrors of ages gone by.
You’ll play as Ryn, a ranger and vestige; one born with an affinity for ancient magic that most wish had stayed buried with the past. When her younger brother is taken captive by a totalitarian empire, she’s forced to embrace the part of herself she’s worked all her life to suppress, and set out on a journey across a broken world to bring him home.
But she won’t face it alone. At her side is Abram Finlay, a scholar and explorer whose depth of knowledge and quiet humor offer a much-needed counterbalance to the world’s growing darkness. What begins as a reluctant partnership slowly becomes something deeper, forged through trust, shared loss, and a common purpose.
Echoes of the End is the first title from us here at Myrkur Games, a small studio based in Reykjavík, Iceland. We’ve spent the past few years building this world from the ground up, working to bring something original and meaningful to life.
